a lot of weird reaching here but "byler never being confirmed to not be a possibility" is the most egregious. writers don't owe you spoilers. they're not obligated to publicly tie themselves down to one specific ending when they may not have even written it yet. even if all the foreshadowing you saw was real and intentional and not projection, writers also aren't obligated to follow through on everything they foreshadowed.

queerbaiting is not about individual character arc decisions. it's about homophobic refusal to give affirmative queer representation while using the possibility of affirmative representation to attract queer viewers. you're trying to apply a term created to talk about a lack of queer representation to a show that had three queer characters, two coming out scenes, and a canon lesbian relationship. rather than just criticizing the writing and saying you dislike the choices, you're co-opting a well known term for homophobic practices that very clearly doesn't fit because you want to feel oppressed, like not getting the ending you wanted foe a specific character is a social justice issue.

it so degrades serious conversations about bigotry to dilute the meaning of social justice terms to apply them every time something you dislike happens. you need to just accept that seeing things the writers didn't intend is a normal part of experiencing media and that deteriorating writing on a mainstream show that was dragged out way too long is not malice.
