There's a lot of Tolkien's lore that I would have loved to see made into full stories, but at the top of that list is definitely Belladonna and Bungo. I think they're such an interesting dichotomy. And I would love to see more of Belladonna's adventures as well.

Woke up to see that people are not happy with gomens s3 which is very disappointing. I wont be able to watch until later today after work so I will of course hold my opinion until then but from the couple little spoilers ive seen I dont have much hope.

Very sad because as someone who kinda hated s2 (fr I could go on a whole rant about all the things I didnt like) i was coping and holding out that s3 would rekindle my love of good omens.

Obviously will always love season 1 and have a place in my heart for aziraphale and crowley but always sad to see a beloved show end like this :(

Genuinely I think most of my issues with s2 and s3 would be fixed if their run times were swapped. s2 should have been 90min and s3 should have been 6 episodes

I'll have to let it percolate but honestly not as mad at the ending as I thought I would be. I understand people who hated it and it may not be the way I would have chosen to end it but I do think its kind of nice. I think its a good final ending to the story and tbh all the problems that aziraphale and crowley were struggling against for the entirety of the show and honestly their lives would never have truly gone away unless heaven and hell were removed from existence. And if you remove heaven and hell they cant exist as an angel and demon anymore so the ending does make sense to me.

Again just like. So rushed. (And s2 was way too long and I will die mad about it. I truly believe the only reason s2 was 6 eps despite not having enough story to fill that time was because they wanted to have 3 seasons with 6 eps aka 666. And then Gaiman ruined that so its not even 666 anyways and s2 was long for no reason)

“how to recognize AI in fanfic” — hey so this is another not-gentle reminder that AI stole from us. it’s using OUR words and OUR sentences and OUR styles.

writing “long” paragraphs is not a sign of AI — it’s a common narrative choice many writers make both in fanfiction and in traditionally published novels, and AI stole it from us.

using an em dash is not a sign of AI. it’s a stylistic sentence choice that’s been an option in place of commas and semicolons for a very long time, and AI stole it from us.

long sentence structures are not a sign of AI, but are yet another stylistic choice writers often make to create a cadence and tone that mimics the flow of poetry, and AI stole it from us.

“YA narrative breaks”? i don’t even know what the fuck this means, but i can guarantee that AI stole it from us.

italics are once again a stylistic choice that many writers love to use to create emphasis, and it’s a more stylistically acceptable and traditional form of emphasis than bold or underline text. oh, and just to be extra clear: AI STOLE IT FROM US.

stop creating fandom witch hunts over AI when you know fuck all about what it means to sit and write a story, and to spend hours fiddling with sentence structure and dialogue to get the exact right tone. writers will stop writing out of fear that their work “sounds like AI” — IT DOESNT! AI STOLE FROM US! AI SOUNDS LIKE US! — and after a while, all that will be available on AO3 is shitty AI-generated fanfiction.

because yeah, people are going to continue to use AI to write fanfiction whether you “call them out” or not. but making a laughable thread on X that uses asinine criteria is not going to fix that problem. it will just push the real writers out because people will accuse them of using AI when they haven’t, and they will (rightfully) stop writing for spaces that attack them.

so. not to doxx myself (i've talked about this here before though) but i live in Kansas. and my license was just revoked very suddenly and immediately because i'm trans and had changed my gender marker.

so now i cannot legally drive or vote until/unless i let them force me to carry around a card that misgenders me and outs me as trans, because i certainly don't look female anymore.

so hey if you have the means and want to help with any of this, please consider donating to the ACLU of Kansas because they are at least going to try to do something to push back against this, and i'm such a panicky wreck that the only thing i can do to get through my immediate gut reaction to having my license revoked tonight (i cannot stress enough that i received the letter today saying that my license is no longer valid tomorrow) is focus on the fact that there's at least one entity trying to protect me and my fellow trans kansans.
