Super detailed painting, truly stunning
Why have fleshed-out characters when you can have a stack of precariously balanced aesthetic words in a trench coat?
and why make NEW stacks of precariously balanced aesthetic words in a trench coat for each story when you can just reuse the same words over and over and only change the trenchcoat?
âImagine a woman in the long skirts and high collar of the early 20th century standing in front of the painting she created. It is a massive pieceâabout 10 feet tall by 8 feet wideâand it is not a landscape, a portrait, a still life, nor a scene from myth or history. Dominating the composition is a bold yellow form reminiscent of a plant or sea creature, glowing amid colorful, biomorphic shapes and vigorous lines. This is just one of 10 such works that she has created almost entirely aloneâsometimes walking on her work as she lays down the paintâand one of 193 radically abstract paintings that she has made in a few short years, between 1906 and 1915. None of these details fit with the story told in museums and art history courses. We know the first abstract painters so well that we often refer to them by last names alone: Kandinsky, Malevich, Mondrian. We know who is celebrated for doing âaction paintingâ on giant canvases laid on the floorâPollock. Each of these men has been lauded for opening a way into new territory. As it turns out, that territory had already been explored by another artist. Her name was Hilma af Klint.â

THE FUCK
It gets even better.
the wildest thing happened to me the other day i found out a male coworker is into irish music so i told him that my dad is an irish musician and would he like to come to a session and he straight up irl said to me âname 5 irish songs your dad knowsâ
he asked me if i play and i told him i played the fiddle when i was a teenager but havent played in years and he was like âoh cool. i play drumsâ as in a drum kit you know the famously folkish instrument the drum kit. bitch my name is molly o'reilly you really wanna challenge the legitimacy of my irish music involvement
i can name 5 songs with my name in them
U can tell that skincare culture is makeup culture disguised bc not a single syllable of it is directed at men, the crustiest people on this earth
@meerodi
oh it totally does, but you canât hear it because space is a vacuum and sound canât travel through a vacuum!Â
and thatâs a good thing,Â
because the roar of the sun would clock in at around 120db heard from earth, about the equivalent to having a trainâs horn go off three feet from your face.Â
constantly. all the time, even at NIGHT. there would be no escape.
this is simply terrifying. how do you erase knowledge please ?
NASA actually recorded the sun, if you want to hear it:
And they recorded the planets too:
so, the sun and the earth sound about how i wouldâve expected, and a lot of other planets just make strong wind sounds which is perfectly reasonable but venus sounds like pure dread?!?! WHY IS SATURN SCREAMING?!? pluto isnât bad and is actually kinda nice but itâs very strange to me too like Why Does It Do That. jupiter is super chill 10/10. pluto and jupiter need to collab i would buy that album
oh, fuck, guys, you know what this means? it means the ancient world was right about the music of the spheres.Â
Sun
Mercury
Venus
Earth
Mars
Jupiter
Saturn
UranusÂ
Neptune
Pluto
i can hear these photos and i donât like it
*loading pistol* Saturns haunted
I donât care if the world isnât ready to hear it, but Iâm going to say it:
âSugar Weâre Going Down Kung Fu Fightingâ is better than either of the original songs that comprise the mashup
for those who need to hear it
losing my shit because my dad was telling me that some country music artist he likes went to the hospital and got high off edibles and made an album that was so far removed from being country music that country music fans of his are having fucking fits about it online but thatâs not the strange part, the strange part is that this dude sought out the guy who animated those cool 3d jojo intros from parts 1-3 and that one batman ninja movie (i think his name is junpei mizusaki) and got him to animate a full 40 minute short film set to his new weird album and it looks like fucking
this
i wasnât expecting to love this so much?? this dude just like created a new genre i am so impressed. the first music video is out now and on god i am vibing with it so hard
its like⊠country cyberpunk
Honestly I think this is an excellent step for us as a culture and species but man a lot of older humans are pissed off about it.Â
