So we've had a year of importing cattle from Mexico during a screwworm outbreak without monitoring the outbreak that we already knew about. Mexico's outbreak is pretty bad btw, and cases have been found not just in cattle and dogs but also humans. I assume the rest of Central America too. Not that many people seem to give a fuck about them ig.

ohhhh shit. target is recalling their up & up baby wipes (fragrance free & fresh cucumber scented) because they're contaminated with Burkholderia cepacia complex and Burkholderia gladioli, multiple people are reporting discoloration & infections. i just got a call about it cuz i had purchased those but i've already gone through them 😅 so no refund for me. but im fine. if you have these they're saying you need to immediately stop using them and bring them back to target for a full refund. this bacteria can cause life threatening infections in children/infants and people with compromises immune systems (ESPECIALLY cystic fibrosis!!) and i know lots of other chronically ill people follow me!!!!

This is not meant to sound hostile or vague anyone but this is bothering me. "Inshallah" means "if God wills it". If your intention is to say you hope the hips don't lie but whether the hips lie or not is up to God, then you say "Inshallah the hips don't lie" but if you're trying to say "wow, the hips don't lie" or something similar, which I think is what the op was getting at, then you say "Mashallah the hips don't lie" which means "God has willed it, the hips don't lie"

For the most part, i enjoy the in the heights adaptation and believe it deserved more from the GP *BUT* i will never forgiving it for the way it totally NERFS all of the Rosarios’ plots. Like:

1). What do you MEAN youre cutting my diva camilla Rosario from the show.

2). Inutil is genuinely one of my favorite songs of the whole musical and it makes Mr.Rosario such a complex and interesting character. Like you can just feel the pain regarding generational poverty and the pressure to escape it/do better in every line and his character becomes a lot less interesting without it.

3). What do you MEAN we’re cutting half the meat of Nina & Benny’s plot out?? Especially the part where Benny faces racism from Mr.Rosario. That angle felt like such an integral aspect of their conflict to me and while i guess its possible to do without it, it really flattens the arcs of every character involved. Instead we just chopped that arc up and shoved its leftovers towards Usnavi & Vanessa?? Like they dont have enough shit going on. Smh.

4). Kinda related but less so…Nina’s decision to leave stanford being bc she faced racism/profiling. Like yeah thats unfortunate but i much preferred the musical’s rationale of it having to do with money issues. Leaving college to make a statement is something that lose’s its effect when the cost is that you, a member of a family trying to escape generational poverty, half paid the expensive tuition to break the ceiling but then washed out anyway. Her leaving doesnt come across like a win to me in the movie. Not with her background to consider. Its sad but you cant afford statements when youre poor. Its nkt empowerment when making your statement likely comes with years worth of debt that ultimately amounted to nothing…. No doubt this is part of the reason they decided to cut inutil & Camila as well.

Anyway, like. Justice for the Rosarios & Benny.
