Not that I’m judging: I grew up in some mediocre places too. It’s fine, and there are certainly worse places. I agree with her: It was likely fine to grow up in.  

But it’s a pretty mundane and rundown. By any standards.

But it’s a standing house. So apparently, per the Republicans, she’s a limousine liberal.

it’s close to three in the morning and john is fast asleep when he finds himself with an armful of sherlock. with no preamble or trying to be stealthy, sherlock plops himself on the bed and slithers his way between john’s legs, coming to rest his entire body right on top of john, his head practically on john’s, too. 

“what on ear-” john huffs, more than a little bit annoyed.

“hmm. needed you,” sherlock mumbles into john’s neck, shimmying himself into a more comfortable position.

just like that, all of his irritation at being so unceremoniously woken up dissipates. “everything alright?” he whispers into sherlock’s curls.

“mmhmm. just getting a bit loud in there.”

john runs his fingers through sherlock’s hair, slowly massaging his scalp for a few minutes. “better?”

“almost.”

“what would make it all the way better?”

“kiss,” sherlock demands, tilting his lips towards john’s, already claiming it.

john, as always, is more than happy to oblige, and they soon fall asleep with their breaths and limbs still intermingling.
