The reason I keep bringing up central bank digital currencies even though they still seem insignificant right now is because they will be the cornerstone of our tech-driven, digital enslavement. You need to pay attention to this because it’s going to be one of the most significant technologies of our lifetime.
You will not be able to hold liquid wealth outside of the system. You will not be able to spend it in unapproved ways. You will not be able to save if the central bank decides that saving would hurt the economy. Every purchase will be monitored and fully transparent.
Don’t get hung up on China here, either - every single major central bank is exploring or developing this technology right now.

A cyber yuan stands to give Beijing power to track spending in real time, plus money unlinked to the global financial system dominated by th
who wants to start trading goods for goods again
No truer words ever spoken
And yet… they neglect both.
1- hes hoping people are wowed by big numbers and dont do the math 2- logically then he -should- be paying 10 times that if he paid at the same rate as his own workers 3- so he, by himself, should be paying in taxes roughly the GDP of portugal while keeping the vast ammount of his wealth but is pissy that he gives up even 5% like its a grave personal sacrifice that will hurt his plans
Like call us when your tax rate is 99.9% and maybe we’ll give you a star sticker then, Musky.
you never realize how old a show is until you get to an episode where the A plot boils down to “hipsters am i right folks??”
the characters in happy endings have non-specific professional jobs in chicago that leaves them endless time to day drink
just kidding about not realizing how old this show is because of the hipster episode, the real tell was the first shot of the interior of alex’s boutique
This show thinks I care about David and Alex’s “Will They/Won’t They” stuff but for that to happen they would need to give Alex a personality
Rest In Peace to the legendary Betty White. Thank you for being a friend to us all. 😥
I know I’m being an insufferable worldbuilding nerd here, but my basic metric for evaluating media with very inhuman protagonists is “how easily can one offer a complete and coherent account of this media’s plot without ever mentioning the fact that the protagonist is, for example, a talking car?”. The harder it is, the higher it scores.
@hewwbwazew I would LOVE to read this holy shit
the way ivan aivazovsky looks at the sea…i think…i think that’s what love looks like.
love is surrounding yourself with people who see you this clearly
Still the freakiest fact about him is that despite being as tall as a person or more, he banged out these beauties in a day or two at most (and smaller ones ina matter of hours). The longest he spent on a painting, at age 81, to make his largest ever painting, was TEN DAYS:
It is 2.9×4.3 meters large. That’s 9'4"×14'1" for people in other measurement systems. It’s HUGE. There are artists out there that spend years on paintings much smaller than this. He was not one of them.
He also didn’t only paint the sea, but he MOSTLY painted the sea. Very few people could draw light filtering through waves the way this guy did and apparently it was tied into his layering technique that allowed him to paint so goddamn fast.
He is obviously my most favorite painter ever.
don’t pretend the Great Tag Ban isn’t funny. don’t pretend that content being automatically removed from the site for using arbitrary terms like “girl” or “tony the tiger” isn’t hilarious
we said “we’ll stay here until staff removes all of the content and the site becomes completely unusable” & staff said ok the tigerfuckers go first
the statements “this is a deeply concerning demonstration of censorship” and “they banned #girl lmaoooooo” are not mutually exclusive
so me and my bf live together and I got this god tier dad text after I sent him a pic of us asldjkfksjf
Part of Apple's new terms include "do not post incorrect things about religious texts" but even scholars of religious texts often disagree on the actual content or intent behind them. Apple has therefore declared itself the arbiter of the true word of God. 🤔
In an unprecedented turn of events—after centuries of division, Apple Incorporated has single-handedly mended the Great Schism and resolved the East-West crisis of 1054.
It began as it will end: with an apple
