fellatio sounds like a supporting shakespeare character rather than oral sex on a penis to be honest
There's a recurring online tendency to aestheticize consensus itself. The imagined future village is full of emotionally compatible people who enjoy communal gardening, conflict resolution circles, acoustic folk music, mutual aid potlucks, and repairing bicycles together at sunset. Which is nice for the people who genuinely enjoy that lifestyle. But plenty of humans are solitary, prickly, obsessive, urban, nocturnal, sensory-seeking, technologically attached, contrarian, novelty-seeking, private, or just plain difficult. Those people do not evaporate after the revolution. They do not get Left Behind while you are Raptured into the Utopia. They become your neighbors.
every time i see someone play poly bridge im like :) oh that seems fun i kind fo want to play
but then i get to the hard levels where u have to really think to make it underbudget and my perfectionism kicks in and kills me and i stall myself out

i think I bitched about this before but really not into the overly dramatic writing style that tries get you to empathize by repeating a bunch of questions that have the same beat and start. you can do like, one set of three before I get annoyed, especially if the questions are really uwu baity
I don't even know how to explain this if you haven't seen it before but if you have surely you know what I'm taking about
oh wait just realized what my issue with that style is. it's because they're asking you a bunch of questions ostensibly but they're all entirely fleshed out and only yes or no except you're clearly expected to agree with them and that pisses me off
like damn at that point don't even phrase it as a question just say it bro don't insult my intelligence.... ik it's a style but it's one that makes me insane for some reason
ok one more long ass one bc if i ever share my haterisms i always feel compelled to try and figure out exactly why i feel that way because i cant know peace i guess. now that i can type properly maybe i can stop making incoherent typos
i think that the difference between questions that make me want to take up kickboxing and questions that make me go okay yeah sure are like... how diegetic they are....? if this makes any sense
the ones that drive me insane are always like... umm lets say blorbo had to leave behind their loved ones or whatever to go on her Great Adventure to Save the World. and they (her family) are dead now, the whole town only remembered on old maps. its always some shit like "do you think that when blorbo left home she knew it would be the last time she would ever see her family? do you think that she would have been able to let go of her brother, knowing her arms weren't enough to protect him? do you think she would have wept to smell the roses in her garden, once so commonplace and now an impossible memory, the only remnant of--if not better--warmer times?"
like no. i guarantee if she knew she wouldnt have fucking left, or at least not without her family. yeah she'd have hugged him but again like. not left without him. also idk if the flowers would have ranked that highly in her priorities if she knew the whole place was gonna get razed w her family in it. next.
like what the hell kind of shitass questionnaire was this? are you gonna grade me and give me participation credit now? dress it up in as much purple as you want, it still gives me the CringeTM hardcore. this is what i was trying to get at w/ 'diegetic'--these are questions clearly posed by some external third party with an obvious goal. in a class, this is ostensibly to try and make you think about the text (though they would have used less banal questions im sure); here, it's obviously trying to milk ur tear ducts and keyboard for some sweet sweet keysmashing tags and HOW DARE Us and OOO glory of all glories, potential shitty screencap immortality. (oh and thats another reason i hate this shit--i hate blatant grabs for attention. especially if they succeed. less annoying than feeding trolls and blue checks on twitter, but annoying nonetheless. in general i dont think bait should be rewarded, esp if its shit-quality.) the story itself is clearly not asking you these questions. the obvious answer to all of this is that blorbo would have really loved for her family not to fucking die and her home burnt tf up. of course she's sad about it. duh?
the ones i can tolerate dont usually show up in blorboposting because it requires a bit of inline-ness to them (the diegesis--sorry im trying to justify the use of the term really bad and also its the only word i can think of that delineates instory and external), and so i think have best effect in prose--fanfic, if its about established media, or if it's some online thing, maybe in the text itself. it's something that i could imagine someone in-universe wondering, perhaps even blorbo herself. it's a question that should, if not genuinely get you thinking, then at least guide you along how the character thinks.
liike ummm say blorbo gets revenge by finding the Big Evil Cheese and then like. idk. executes his family in front of him before killing him too. eye for an eye. but in a Just World TM (that perhaps they are on the way to achieving by catching the Big Evil Cheese) you really cant just be executing civilians just because they were related to the head honcho, so now SHES getting marched to the gallows*. oops!
and we (readers and ic-bystanders alike) might sit around and wonder, if you must rebuild a life from ashes, is it better that they be ashes left by the starved fire of vengeance unfulfilled or by a final last blaze of glory? (as it were. killing innocents isnt glorious, but maybe she felt really savagely pleased to do it and give Evil Cheese a taste of what she went through.) and it's like. we cant know that. you can argue it was worth it for blorbo because losing her family made her a broken and angry person and any life she lived after would have been fractious and unhappy and only hurt more people. maybe achieving a twisted sort of justice is the best thing she could have done with her life. buuut also maybe she could have found peace given time, and that by acting rashly and killing innocents and consequently being executed for it, she robbed herself of the opportunity. and for what? killing these people did not bring her family back, and instead only hurt more people who loved them. pain begets pain; in the end, she only lost.
ok yeah its not great bc unlike the example of smth i dont like, i dont have an example of something i can tolerate so i had to make some shit up and obviously it's a bit limp. but that's the idea. open-ended questions that provoke thought can be ok, even if they're a little too purple, but shitty tag-baiting can always fucking miss me. i dont think ive ever seen one framed in purple prose i could tolerate, either, though maybe thats my bitch eating crackers take. whatever.
if anyone reads all this please know im making an impressed face at u. so long and so stupid. if u so desire i will draw u a silly kitty, just lmk.
* since shes getting executed you can argue quite accurately she's not really rebuilding SHIT in that second scenario but please suspend your disbelief a bit longer im really bad at spitballing and this rant is taking so long already 😭😭 a blorbo poster i am not im doing my best
