Owned slaves

Served in the Roman military industrial complex

Be born into generational wealth

Be born into an aristocratic class that literally had different laws and punishments applied to them than everyone else

Got appointed (NOT elected) to the senate

Was a coloniser and actively colonised

Thing Caesar did that made a mere 60 of the Roman Senators decide to stab him:

Introduced legislation that said the senators had to pay their employees

Expanded the senate to give representation to leaders of the places they'd colonised

Gave citizenship to the people they'd colonised

Extended voting rights to the colonised people

Promised land to veterans

Refused a crown dramatically

Decided to change his role from ELECTED Dictator for a Term to Dictator for Life.

And if you're thinking "huh, i was tagging ides of march posts about how much I wish my elected representatives would kill a certain orange turd and this doesn't sound anything like him" ...yeah.

Because the orange turd and USAer senate is NOT like Caesar and the Roman senate.

And no. It's not okay to pretend or spread misinformation pretending it's the same thing to try to encourage people to deal with your turd.

The Ides of March is fun because the situation (60 military vets only succed in stabbing 1 guy 23 times) is absurd. Not because it's a parabel for modern times. It's not.

How did you pick your Rook’s name?

I picked Martillo's name whilst creating him. My first playthroughs of Dragon Age games have been as dwarfs (except two where I just wanted to date the dwarf) Martillo is Spanish for hammer, a name my Rook selected when he arrived in Treviso.

Is your Rook older or younger than you, or a similar age?

He’s younger than me. I’m 45, and Martillo is in his mid 30s.

Any physical traits you share with Rook?

Not really. I'm not a black dwarf and I don't have a beard

Any personality traits you share with Rook?

Putting others before myself and wanting to hit things with a big hammer. Oh and sarcasm, lots of sarcasm!

Any personal abilities/mannerisms/habits/hobbies you passed onto Rook?

We both share a love of reading and are history buffs. Habits wise leaning, I can see Martillo leaning on everything when he is talking to people, a wall, a table, hell other people sometimes.

Where do you and Rook differ the most?

He is 100% more athletic than me. He also has a tragic back story and I have a quiet life.

What trait/ability does Rook have that you wish you did?

Athletic ability and confidence, I lost both years ago.

In a situation where you existed in Thedas, would your Rook be friends with you? Or alternatively, if your Rook was your roommate, could you live with them?

I'm confident that we would have been great drinking buddies. If we were roommates we would be sharing books, avoiding the washing up and pushing each other to date!

If you could give one piece of advice to your Rook, what would you say?
