Kimiko and Katnappé: Spa Day
Kimiko opened one eye, jolted from the rare moment of total bliss and relaxation she'd been experiencing. She'd just finished a really nice mud wrap treatment followed by a long session in the sauna, and was lying on a lounge chair in the solarium, just vibing and enjoying the moment.
At least she had been.
"Can I help you?" she asked the woman looming over her, also dressed in a spa robe. She looked to be a few years older than Kimiko, maybe early-mid twenties. A few strands of blonde hair had escaped the towel wrapped around her head.
"Uh, yeah," the woman replied snappily. "You're in my spot!"
Oh, boy. This spa catered to an elite and wealthy clientele, which unfortunately meant dealing with some of the most obnoxious and entitled snobs on the planet. Kimiko groaned internally. Externally, she did her best to keep her cool.
"This is the solarium," she said. "It's a public area, and there's no assigned spots."
"For you, maybe," the woman sniffed. And Kimiko knew her next line before she opened her mouth and actually said, "Don't you have any idea who I am?"
"Nope," Kimiko said. "And if you had any idea who I am, we wouldn't be having this conversation."
"Oh, you think you're hot shit, huh?" the other woman sneered. "Ugh. If I had my kitties with me you wouldn't be so cocky!"
She turned and stalked away, leaving Kimiko to stare after her with a mixture of revulsion, amusement, and utter bewilderment.
What the heck did she mean by kitties?
