I understand completely why someone in America would not want to go to the emergency, I completely understand, I get it, I’ve injured myself and not gotten care because I’m like “eh it’s probably not a concussion,” but I am begging you: if you suddenly can’t walk, that’s a problem to address on day one, not day five.
The American College of Emergency Physicians has some guides on when to go to the ER, including this page with lists of symptoms for adults and children.
And remember: medical bills and medical debt are real problems, but they're problems with many potential solutions. "Being dead because you didn't go to the ER" has notably less solutions. Go to the ER.
