I accidentally did a Wikipedia binge about 1st wave feminism and fashion and stumbled upon the 1890s bicycle suit. Do people know about this? Why didn't anyone tell me about this? This is dope as hell.

It's old-fashioned. It's modern. It's butch. It's femme. It's snazzy. It's practical.

Wikipedia talks about the bloomers and the leg-o-mutton sleeves, but I'm also noticing a lot of these outfits have absolute supervillain lapels, which I also like a lot.

this made me think “Hephaestus would also love us” and then I saw Hephaestus going on a forbidden journey to sunder Prometheus’s chains because without the gift of fire humans would never have learned the art of the forge. and he was already cast out of Olympus for being born with a disability, without fire in human hands he would have been so lonely, god of nothing and no one.

now they watch humans do these things together just beaming like two proud dads and occasionally calling Asclepius when shit goes sideways (“we love you, children! always wear your PPE!”)

I always think that sport events, especially international ones, are primarily about fun and cultural exchange and hanging out together; it gets lost sometimes when people pay too much attention to keeping scores, but joy and building bridges should be more important. I've seen a few things here and there over the years since this was put out there by Ikea Canada but never bothered to learn more. Was checking out some of the links above, and it's worth noting that 1) the "biphobia" couch text is from a bisexual creator's spoken word poem he wrote at 15 and 2) it appears they were never actually for sale of available commercially at all? Fascinating.

Anyway, the artist who inspired it is Brian Lanigan and he went on record 5 years ago as "amused" by the response 😆

It looks to you like the bug is just bouncing randomly against the glass, but that's just because the menu system is only visible to the player - the bug is poking around in the settings trying to figure out how to turn hints off.
