@readingisfab
I really appreciate how every week I reblog this, a different person interacts it. Tuesday light me up speaks to all of us at different times.
ID. screencaps from the gay and wondrous life of caleb gallo. freckle says, “Oh, Tuesday light me up.” caleb asks, “What does that mean?” freckle leans against the doorframe, eyebrows raised and smiling, and does not reply. End ID.

Great news guys 🎉
So if women wear makeup at work we’re “frivolous” and it harms our leadership chances.. but if we don’t wear makeup we are being unprofessional and are deemed less competent.
So we just need to think of a way for women to not have faces and we’re all set 🤔
A clear example of how performance of femininity is both compulsory (enforced by social, legal, and economic consequences) and devalued because of misogyny.
Also, the “it’s not compulsory, just creative expression!!” argument kind of falls apart when you’re rewarded for wearing makeup UNLESS you use it in any way other than the standard look - if you do THAT you get punished.

girl who finally is going back to reading by finishing one book: now i'm going to read all the books in the world.
I know this is going to make me sound pretensions but I have to get it off my chest. I feel an unimaginable rage when someone posts a photo and is like "this picture looks like a renaissance painting lol" when the photo clearly has the lighting, colors and composition of a baroque or romantic painting. There are differences in these styles and those differences are important and labeling every "classical" looking painting as renaissance is annoying and upsetting to me. And anytime I come across one of those posts I have to put down my phone and go take a walk because they make me so mad
In case you're curious here's what I mean.
Renaissance(distinct lines, stability and the individual man):
Baroque (bold, chaotic, dramatic):
Romantic(romanticize the simple hard working life):
Do you see the difference?
