If you have EVER struggled with ANY mental illness at all at any point in your life, this is extremely relatable.

Having a supportive atmosphere isn’t always accessible. Those of us with chronic pain or illness can’t “go exercise” or “go outside”. Our jobs shouldn’t be on the line. Being told “make something of yourself” makes you feel worse. 

As the cartoon says, mental illness isn’t always portrayed outwardly (thanks Hollywood). Sometimes it’s the fake smile. Sometimes it’s having to hide in the bathroom for a short cry. Sometimes it’s trying to try.

Please don’t judge someone based on how they “look”. They might look fine but are they really?

We scream about mental health awareness but until we step up and check on our loved ones, nothing will ever get done.
