hi :) this is a refresh of a decently old blog so I figured I'd (re)introduce myself.

I'm going to go by Cricket on here, and I'm a 22 year old girl? Woman? Even after being an adult for a decent period of time it feels weirdly formal to say I Am A Woman haha.

I am queer. I believe that if God didn't want me that way He wouldn't have done it. I am side B.

At the end of the day, I don't want to argue or debate with anyone! I'm open to DMs about whatever, but please don't come to me (or anyone honestly, be nice!!) looking to win a debate with Facts and Logic. It's unproductive and further polarizes people. I advise everyone to go outside from time to time.

I'll only ever tag stuff that's a prayer request and/or a personal post. Not gonna bother tagging everything else lol (other than Joanposting... she's so cool and I will tag stuff with her in it).

i love naming the elephant in the room (porn) in conversation because you're not supposed to do that and people are shocked but then they always agree with me. "teen boys are a menace these days" -> it's because of porn. "that's not normal behaviour" -> it's porn addiction. "does that imagery make anyone else uncomfortable" -> it's inspired by porn. "the way women are characterized" -> it's porn mythology. like ladies we are allowed to stay this stuff out loud

my biggest advice to anyone starting to think about liturgical Christianity is that you really just have to go to church. if it is literally physically possible you need to. books are not church and the internet is not church and your bedroom is not church. this is very important

Blessed Pentecost! God is a God who wants to speak to you and They don't prefer one language. They are so, so much bigger than a pulpit or the church or Sunday mornings. God will speak in whatever ways you can hear; let yourself listen to the tiny whispers and the little gestures and the tongues that sound foreign to those around you. Hear Them in everything, no matter where They're speaking from.

It's so special to me that Pentecost was the last Sunday before pride month this year. God called me back through the exploration of my own queerness; He spoke to me through the radical, transgressive love I saw. Letting that part of myself out taught me how to embrace God's creation, including myself, just as it is. My religion taught me how to love recklessly and without hesitation, my queerness taught me how to love even the people I am told not to.

The Holy Spirit is reaching for you, desperate to anoint you with Their light. Let yourself reach back.

When someone is behaving erratically or unusually in public, this does not automatically make them a threat.

If you sit next to the person on the bus who you see as spasming and twitching... most of the time they'll continue to move the same way they were with no ill intent to you. It's not dangerous, it's tourettes/stimming/cerebral palsy symptoms.

If you chat to the homeless man yelling to himself outside the shops... most of the time you'll learn why he's upset, have a chat that makes him feel less alone, and he won't want your help or will calm down because he's been acknowledged.

If you check on the woman moaning and writhing in her seat on the train... most of the time you'll find she's hungover or in withdrawal or suffering from a chronic medical problem, and you can offer support that could make her feel better or save her life.

Most people aren't out to get you. Not everything about a person's behaviour is intentional or directed at you. Strange does not equal threatening.
