I felt so sad for him this season and for the people pissed at olrox for turning him (spoiler warning omg?), it was either a life of vampirism or old man coyote (after witnessing how it took the Abbott to the afterlife, being a vampire doesn't seem so bad).
Season 3 of Castlevania better explore his conflict more, like I need an episode dedicated to Mizrakâs life as a young vampire and his relationship post-turning with Olrox! Like does he hate him? Or does being his maker negate that? Questions, questions â Iâll feed my delusions by reading lots of fanfics and writing mine hehe
Please keep interacting with this post because when I come to tumblr to procrastinate, this shows up again in my notifications and guilts me into writing again
If you haven't heard, the em dash has been getting a lot of attention latelyâŠ
Because it was trained on pirated workâincluding freely accessible online writing (like fanfic, academic texts)âChatGPT picked up patterns and quirks native to human writing.
Including (sigh) the em dash.
There are other victims here (RIP tapestry and delve đ« ), but the appropriation of the em dashâa punctuation mark beloved by writers everywhereâfeels especially personal.
A kind of low-grade panic is ensuing. Writers who once memed their own em dash overuseâthe greatest punctuation mark ever to grace the control-freakâs lexicon, franklyâare suddenly backing away to avoid accusations.
No. More. We have centuries of dash-abusing writers behind us. We will not sit quietly while AI repurposes our beloved stilted asideâor the just-one-more clarification the sentence demandsâor the dramatic pause your comma could neverâetc.
You donât write like AIâAI writes like you.
Defend the em dash.

For romance writers who use Scrivener, I just created a new free template!!
So as a romance writer, l've always wanted to use a Scrivener template that served that particular goal and helped me structure everything! So I created this and integrated the Romance Beat Sheet by Jami Gold (in a singular document file) and added the following templates:
âą Scene Card Template
âą Character Sketch Template
âą Settings Sketch Template (General)
âą Settings Sketch Template (Apartment)
âą The Romance Beat Sheet by Jami Gold (Plot Outline)
âą The 3-Act Structure (Plot Outline Guide)
I made this free so that any writer who writes romance or stories with romance elements, could find it easy to use and create their projects and work on it seamlessly!

I made a recipes Sub template for Scrivener, but a bug won't let it work properly...
so I can't release it in good conscience.
It goes like this:
Under "Food and Subsistence" I created a folder for "Recipes"
I used a native one, 'cause reasons, etc.
Then I created a recipes template. (Invisibles are on in this one)
Yay. Looks like most of the online recipe templates.
I selected a cute icon for this:
It's a spoon, also native.
Then cued up the template to the recipes folder: (Documents->Default document->Recipe)
Should be good, right?
Nope.
The icon I chose:
â[ingredient goes here]
The box... for some odd reason won't replicate in the template.
It goes from this:
when I hit return after "Amount/Item", it goes to this:
This is a fundamental bug in Scrivener.
However, the *tiny* box does work when I replicate it to a new document.
You can see the size comparison here.
But the bigger box is more understandable and prettier.
So I've been sitting on this template, because of this bug.
I suppose you could make this template yourself.
I did try making a style of out the "Amount/Item"
But designating this on the "â Amount/Item" still makes the bug occur.
However, hitting none and then "Recipe Ingredients List" will make it work.
But then if you remove the list it will not default to a list with said icon, nulling the effect. And explaining this too, would make it painful UX-wise.
None of that is user-friendly, so I've kept the template for myself because I really don't want to have a bunch of people complain it doesn't work because none of it is intuitive.
I did report this bug, but to be fair, it's lower priority.
But if you want to make this template in scrivener, there are your caveats.
So yeah. Probably can't release this one.
It's the custom icon messing it up.
But on the upside... I made some fictional recipes for my Other World and made a template which works for me. But I can't share the template because it's likely if I do it a bunch of people will complain that it doesn't work and I don't want to have to explain how to make it work.
I'm also thinking about torturing myself further and making a scrivener template for scripts... because I want to write one and Celtx became difficult to use by migrating completely online.
He'd promised himself he wouldn't touch him until the unveiling on Saturday evening but being this close, being able to smell the rich scent of vanilla musk on his skin and feel the way his thighs brushed against his groin through their clothes, drove him close to the edge. The intoxication he couldn't get from rounds of alcohol, settled in now. He needed to bury himself in this man and lay his mark.
Hi, I'm Rose Noir (known better as rosenoirwrites) and I'm a romance author with a love for crafting dark & fluffy romance stories. My current wip is 'Dark Paradise' and you can read it on my patreon or on Inkitt.
if youâre white and wanna write a poc character and feel awkward about it i implore you to ignore any twitblr stuff treating it as a massive ethical burden and instead come in more with the same mindset youâd have if you wanted to write about idk firefighters but didnât know anything about firefighters so you do... research. Like fuck off with the weird kinda creepy calls for spiritual introspection youâre not writing about god damn space aliens youâre writing about humans and if you think you need more perspective of different life experiences just read?
If I were writing about firefighters I'd also, in addition to just reading about them, take advantage of Our Blessed Internet to ask actual firefighters about how shit works. I'd do the same for a minority I'm not a part of.
I remember when there was this LiveJournal community where you could just ask about anything you needed for your novel - medicine, professions, vehicles, how things function in country X - and people who knew something about that would answer.
Remember, a world where everyone stays in their own boxes and only writes about their own narrow demographic is straight up a goal for racists. If you ever find yourself attempting anti-racism so hard you've looped back to "functionally the same thing racists want", stop, take stock, and ask yourself where things went wrong.
Pairings: Brian Landolf x James Nicholson (Original Characters)
Warnings/Tags:Â Smut (18+), Explicit Language.
Summary: A bored athlete gets on a dating app for a random hookup and gets hooked (literally).
Jamesâ thumb hovered over the intriguing profile of Brian. He didn't have a last name attached to his profile like most smart people. His bio was as abrupt, and demanding as so many others, but he gave James pause.
The hand encircled around his neck was probably from a previous hookup, lover maybe. Did he like taking pictures of his poses while getting turned out as a way to lure newer prey? James licked the dryness of his lips. He wanted his hands around the slender neck of this Brian man, and could already see himself buried deep inside â which was probably because he was horny at the moment.
Nothing like a pent-up sex drive to get a man going.
He swiped right on the profile and was shocked to find the âmatchedâ animation expanded on his screen. His profile was a bland mirror selfie of his abs that revealed nothing that could pin anyone to him. It was a trend, he'd gathered, where men shared photographs of their most attractive qualities to get laid on Lumier.Â
In any case, he was surprised that Brian had matched quickly and more surprised at the location that hovered next to his name. He smiled and opened their message box. Playing hard to get was an art. James hadnât picked it up or cared for it. So he sent the first message:
James laughed. So prompt and straight to the point.
Dealing with a personality like himself, the men he involved himself with had to have a certain level of bluntness and indifference to really turn him on. And whenever they met, there was no awe or starstruck energy. Just nonchalance and questions regarding the sex and sex alone.
He had a good feeling that Brian would be the same so he sent him the location of the hotel he was lodged in and waited for his response.
Brian: will text when I'm there.
He rushed to the bathroom to check himself out. For years now, James was known as one of the most groomed hockey players in the league. He was always complimented for his skin regimen, his waxed hairless body and his taut build. But no one knew that it wasn't just for the lifestyle of it. James couldn't stand the friction hair caused with sex. It was a hindrance and he made sure to get rid of any sign of it.
After that, he took a quick shower and rushed out at the ping of his phone:
Brian: I'm outside the door.
James tied a towel around his waist, his chest blooming and teeming with anticipation as he reached for the door. It took all of Jamesâ strength to not jump his bones from the get-go.Â
The man in question was gorgeous. Blond curls sitting on his head with emerald eyes that matched and sparkled at the slight movement of his head. He was smaller than James anticipated or more so, James hadn't calculated his ratio to Brianâhe wouldn't have really with the choking picture as a reference.
Those cherry pink lips pulled in a side smile, âDamn, you're hotter than I thought.â
James quirked a brow, âIâm glad I could surpass your expectations. Come in.â
Brain stepped into his room and suddenly the space felt tighter, charged with enough sexual tension to push any human off the edge. âDo you need anything before we start?â
He shook his head, taking off his backpack and settling in the bed. âNope, I prepped before stepping out, and I brought lube and condoms if you're out.â
âSmart.â he said without thinking and Brian scoffed, standing and stripping himself of the denim shorts and plaid top he wore.
âYou sound surprised â don't tell me youâre one of those people that think every horny man on Lumier is a sex-driven airhead.â
A smile broke on Jamesâ face. âIf I thought that, then it'll be an insult to myself, don't you think?â
Brian shook his head, âright.â He was completely naked now, standing awkwardly on the side of the bed as James watched. He didn't know where to begin. He wanted to devour the man in front of him and he couldn't decide what angle to start biting into.
Thankfully, Brian wasn't as perplexed as him. He closed the distance between them, reaching for the towel and tossing to the side, letting Jamesâ cock fly free in the wind. For the first time since Brian walked in, he noted a shift in his gaze. He looked between his dick and Jamesâ face with wide eyes.
âGod you're hung,â he muttered, his slender fingers wrapping around his shaft, knees to the floor, and bringing the tip to his lips. James hissed at the warmth of his mouth, and his hands fisted into his hair. Brianâs tongue moved with precision. Wrapping, slurping, gurgling. He made sure to keep his eyes upward, boring those lust-drunk emerald eyes into memory.
âFuck.â James hissed as his sucking deepened. He let his hands fall to his sides, moving forward until his lips touched the base of his length. His throat swallowed the tip of his cock, and when Brian hummed, James was sure he would bust. He slid out of Brianâs mouth quickly, much to his chagrin.
âIs something wrong?â he asked, getting up. âI was just getting started.â
James huffed out a breath. The only thing he could manage at that moment. He looked down at his protruding dick with a warning: âDo not embarrass me and bust early, goddammit.â
He held Brianâs cheeks in his hands and drew his face close until their lips were pressed together. His lips were soft and delicate, glossed which made them slightly sticky. James bit on his bottom lip slowly, like he was savoring the taste of a meal. Their tongues danced and intertwined, as they moved towards the bed. James directed Brian to the bed, laying him down so he could be on top. Once they were settled, his lips traveled from his lips to the crook of his neck, suckling and biting. He moved his attention to the pink perked nipples on his chest; pinching and kneading. While his mouth sucked on the other.
Brianâs loud moans and writhing, were songs to his ears. His body ground against his, begging for its release from the torment.Â
James drew back and buried his head in the crook of his neck to calm himself. He was over the edge and dragging out the pleasure in the first round was probably not the best idea. Other rounds would be forgiven, the first bust couldn't come before the main dish.Â
So he reached for the lube Brian laid on the bed and drizzled a good amount of it on two fingers. Excited, Brian spread his legs from him. Biting his lips as Jamesâ fingers massaged the entrance of his hole, teasing and prodding until it gave way. He started with slow strokes, his eyes fixed on Brianâs. Capturing every gasp and whimper that slipped through his lips and stirred the flushed expressions on his face. âMore⊠more.â He begged, biting down harder on his bottom lip when James inserted yet another finger. He shook his head at that, âNo, I want you to put it in now, please.â
The last word was more a whimper than a plea and it went straight down to Jamesâ balls. He pulled out his fingers and put on a condom, drizzling a good amount of lube around his length before setting himself at the entrance. He looked up at Brian to be sure he was ready, all that he met were eyes that were glazed over, ready to be taken.
So he slid in, watching as Brianâs back arched against the bed, his fingers fisting the sheets on both sides. âFuck!â
James made sure to take it slow until he was balls deep. Brianâs feet were crouched back and hanging idly in the air, so James pulled them up so they rested on his shoulders. âAre you sure you're ready for me? Iâm not going to take it easy now.â
Brian smiled, âI wonât have it any other way.â
James moved slowly at first, keeping a pace to give himself room within his body. Brian wrapped around him like a tight-knit glove, so tight he almost thought he'd die. He took a few calming breaths and steadied his pace, holding himself back from releasing in seconds.
When he was set, he held unto Brianâs waist and let himself loose. The sound of their bodies meshing and slapping against each other echoed in the room. The bed shook violently as Jamesâ hips jutted in and out of him. Brianâs moans had elevated from soft whimpers to flat-out cries.
James savored the way his skin flushed red, and his body jerked with every thrust. His dick slapped against his stomach at the sheer force of Jamesâ hip movements. And when the thought dropped in Jamesâ mind, he let a hand travel to his neck and encircled his slender frame.
âYou like it like this don't you?â
Brian nodded fervently, tears blotching the redness of his cheeks. He was turning into a mess right in front of him and James almost feared for the feeling that settled in his gut. Oh how he wanted to see this shuddering, blob of emotions on this man more than once.
He heaved forward at the thought and grabbed unto Brianâs dick. His hand wrapped around it well, stroking as he neared the edge. He whispered, âLetâs cum together okay? Can you do that? Hm?â
He was sure that whatever coherence Brian had before, had left him. He nodded and jerked, his hands turning white from the sheer strength they held the bedsheets.
âFucking hell!â James grunted, his body shuddering as he released. It was quick and slow at the same time, drawing out as he watched himself bring Brian to the end of the line as well. His bust across his chest, white spittles hurling over in torrents.
James leaned forward as he caught his breath. Brian visibly relaxed beneath him, completely reddened and flushed. There was tears mixed with snot and inevitable cum thatâd spread to the tip of his chin. He was a mess.
A beautiful, arousing mess.
James pulled out slowly from his shuddering body, collapsing beside him. Spent and highly satisfied. He turned to meet Brianâs glazed eyes on him, a small smile pulling at his lips. âIâm at my limit, but I could go for one more round before evening. Just give me a minute to recover.â
James laughed, âsame here, how about we take the next stop to the bathâthe jacuzzi is amazing.â
âNow I'm really tempted,â Brian said with a smile. âI just may not be able to walk there, I can't feel anything.â
âMe neither.â they laughed and James moved to hold Brian in his arms. He didn't protest and let him. it was more of a sexual gesture than anything suggestive anyway.
