Probably had like 10 copies of Final Fantasy X and X-2 for the PS2 because CDs are a lot easier to scratch and break back then, and also for the ps3 and now PC.

Own all the KH games on all the consoles each generation

KH2. 7 copies.

Black label PS2(The shiny version. The one that started it all for me), Greatest hits PS2, Ultimate Hits Final Mix PS2, 2.5 Remix PS3, 2.5 Remix PS4, 2.5 Remix PC(Epic games), 2.5 Remix PC(Steam).

I don't own it on PS5, Switch, nor XBOX. I've considered getting other variations of the original in different languages/regions.

I tried playing both PC versions, the epic one was super slow on my ancient gaming computer and then the steam version nuked it from orbit. So I've never actually beaten any KH game on PC because of that. I tried the demo cloud version on switch and determined that it would be absolutely impossible to beat even one struggle match with my awful internet.

I've got 5 or 6 copies of KH3, mostly the deluxe versions, I don't think I actually own a physical copy of the regular version now that I think about it.

I've got like 5 copies of Dream Drop Distance on the 3DS simply to make as many dream eater cats as I want without some sort of limit, dammit.

Then I have 3 copies each of Re:Coded and Days for the DS because I do the multi-player stuff in both.

I remember growing up in a more progressive era it's insane how far the right wing is. There are no moderate conservatives, liberals are further right than ever that's why 'the left' is seen as extreme for things like wanting to end homelessness. Remember when western nations were proud to be progressive, when athiests would debate religious bigots and boast about how pro gay, pro woman, pro freedom we are. If it feels like we live in crazy times it's because everyone is running head first into fascism and then gaslighting us into thinking we're too radical

when people refer to canon story-relevant kingdom hearts games as ‘spinoffs’ it makes me sad not only for the obvious reasons i always say but also bc like man i WISH this series had spinoffs. imagine what they could do if they had permission from nomura to truly go off the rails and ignore the greater canon for a second and just do some fun whimsical plotless thing in an alternate universe. imagine a fishing/boating game on destiny islands. kh fighting game. it is an injustice that we have been deprived of kingdom karts. can anyone hear me

Honestly!!

I have a multi part theory about why some people are so adamant on refusing to acknowledge the importance of every game in the series. Some of them can't handle the full emotional weight of all the characters' stories and how it led them to the events in KH1, 2, and 3. So they act like those stories aren't meaningful or relevant.

And other people are just trying to tout their elitist nonsense around because those other games don't have a ton of competitive speedrunners that have stripped the games of all personality and turned them into math homework.

The third group is still salty about not being able to play the games when they originally came out on all the different consoles. This is fair, that's a lot of money to drop on just one series. It's just that now they refuse to play them or take them seriously despite the vast majority of the games being available on most platforms.

We could have Mario party style kh games, kingdom karts could exist, there's so many silly goofy spinoffs we could have that would fit the description of spinoff! And instead we've got swaths of people that won't or can't find all the meaning in the entire series. They're seriously missing out on so much.

Eta: I've exclusively only seen people use "spinoff" as a designation for a kh game when it comes to the value and importance of a game in the series, as in, someone new to the series says "so uh what order should I play the games in" and like 85 people come out of the woodwork to say "days/com/coded/ux/ddd are just a bunch of spinoffs, you don't need to play them, just play bbs, 1, 2, and 3 the rest aren't important." I've never seen "spinoff" used just a designation for a kh game where the player is not following the main Sora Donald Goofy trio. It's always used in a "this umbrella term applies to most of the series and so these games have basically no value." And so new players don't get everything the series has to offer, and returning players with this view decide they're right about all the other games, and end up not liking new additions to the series, and endlessly rag on kh3 for the story heavy plot that flies right over their heads.
