I don't think I put this on tumblr so since I'm tired and can't sleep I'll go ahead and do it Weeping Angel made up of Ten's whole "Don't Blink" speech I made a while ago
I'm so sick of hearing "you guys rely too much on technology" or "kids these days don't know real entertainment" like, I'm 99% sure that those words have been said throughout every major time period. Don't tell me that when the TV first came out or when the first computer was available for public use that people didn't judge the youth of that time for jumping at the chance to use it. Don't tell me that had you had this sort of technology when you were growing up that you wouldn't act the same way. Please take the stairs as you climb off your high horse, don't want you to rely too much on that elevator technology to get down.

my 19 year old coworker the other day when he ran through the store swearing and noticed me doing dishes
so when my coworker was little he used to think that girls peed out of their bellybuttons and the first time he saw a girl's belly button he started to cry
She walked along the pavement, casually kicking the tiny pebbles that were in her way. It had been over four months since she had seen him. The Doctor. Her Doctor. She missed him terribly.
When they saw each other last, he had told her that there was something important that he had to do and…
"Rose." Her name was barely a whisper in the still air as he stared at her. Oh, his brilliantly, wonderful Rose Tyler. It had felt like centuries since he had last seen her, and there she was, standing by the TARDIS console and looking so perfectly at home. A grin spread across his face as she looked back at him. "Rose Tyler."
He rushed forward, arms spread wide as scooped her into a tight hug. Words couldn’t even begin to describe how much he had missed her. Three days, 17 hours, 42 minutes. Well, by his clock, anyway. And he could only hope it was the same on hers.
The Doctor squeezed her tightly, spinning her around in a small circle as they both laughed. He had no desire to, but eventually he sat her back down and looked at her, gently holding onto her shoulders at arms length so he could look her over, a grin still spread across his face. She didn’t look any older, he noticed, which was good. That meant at most he’d been gone a year, maybe? There never was much time to focus on exact coordinates when you were two seconds away from getting sucked into a black hole.
Her smile spread across her entire face as The Doctor hugged her tightly, spinning her around in small circles. She didn’t want to be any place else than in his arms and here they were right now, finally reunited after four long months. Well four months to her at least.
He gently set her down, his hands still holding onto her shoulders. “Four months this time Doctor. You’re getting quite slow.” Her smile widened, if that was even possible.
She didn’t care that he was gone for months at a time, only as long as he kept coming back to her. She knew that he would always come back. “What crazy adventure have you gone on this time?”
He looked at her, debating on whether or not to tell her. “Oh, you know… Saving planets, rescuing various species.” With a shrug he pulled away, heading around the console as he added lowly, “Creating black holes and nearly getting sucked in, ANYWAY!” The Doctor gave a dramatic sweep of his arm he pulled lever and then looked back up at her.
"Fours months? Really?" His eyes glanced briefly down at the dials and buttons, toying with them slightly. "Well, could’ve been worse, I suppose," he said, shrugging again. "But what about you, eh? What’s Rose Tyler been up to while I was away playing doctor?"
She smiled and walked closer to him as she watched him push buttons and pull levers. She wrapped her hands around the railing behind her and looked at him. “Oh you know, what normal human beings do every day. Just living, basically.”
She smiled as she thought of the job she had started about two months ago. “I also took to babysitting some kids a flat down from Mum and me.”
She then thought about something he had said earlier. “So how did you manage to create a black hole and nearly get sucked into it?”
Completely ignoring her question he continued flipping switches and messing with dials. “Babysitting?” he asked, glancing up at her. He hadn’t really thought about Rose with kids. Or, Rose with anybody else, really. Or Rose having kids…
Th Doctor frowned slightly, pushing that thought away. Rose having kids, that’s ridiculous. Completely mad. Well, she could if she wanted to, he supposed, but she loved travelling with him too much, right? That would mean meeting somebody, taking time to be with them and away from him, her settling down. And once she had the baby, who knows how often he would get to see her, travel with her. No, Rose wouldn’t do that. Would she?
She smiled and nodded gently. “Yeah. They’re good kids. Made me think what it would be like to have my own, but that would mean settling down and I just don’t think I could do that honestly.” She looked to him and smiled. “I love traveling with you to much to settle down.”
She walked over to the stairs that led to others parts of the TARDIS and sat down on them, resting her arms on her knees. “Besides, the man that I would want to have children with travels too much to settle himself. Plus I don’t know how he feels about children anyways. He never said.” She looked over at him and smiled.
"Right. Getting back to my question earlier. Black hole? How on earth did you manage that one Doctor?" She tilted her head to the side, waiting for him to answer.
"Oh, you know." He shrugged and looked up at the screen, his eyes flickering as they scanned the monitors above. How could he explain it in a way that she could understand? "A nearby collapsing star was the perfect disposal for a frozen and recently evacuated planet, all it needed was a bit of gravitational pull to get it going." He glanced over at her, then back up at the monitors.
Who was she talking about? He could’ve sworn that Mickey hated travelling. So who else did she know? And why did he care so much? Rose Tyler was her own self, not something he owned. She was free to do whatever she liked, be as human as she liked, especially when he was gone for unintentional extended periods of time. There was no reason for him to feel a pang of jealousy run through him at the thought of her with someone else.
"Sounds like fun," she said, frowning slightly but covering it up with a smile. She hated the fact that he ended up in danger so often. Even when he would try to help, he would somehow wind up in danger and on the days where she can’t be with him, he always knew that it was too dangerous for her. He didn’t want her to be hurt and she knew that but she just wished that he would let her help more sometimes.
She sighed and leaned on the railing. “So where are we going this time Doctor? Some exotic planet or a remote star this time?” She smiled, thinking of so many places that he could take her. So many places that she hadn’t even seen yet. She was always eager for a new adventure. And he always surprised her. No matter how many times she went with him, he would always somehow surprise her.
The Doctor, still turned with his back to her, felt a grin spread across his face. That was absolute brilliant to hear. He’d heard variations of the phrase all through the years, but hearing her voice ask him “Where to next?” was beyond fantastic. There was something about it that sounded more than just asking what their next destination was.
"I was thinking some place new," he told her as he walked over to join her. He leaned up against the railing, staring up at the big glowing tube in the center as the TARDIS hummed quietly. Their hands barely brushed as the pair stood there, but that was enough for his hearts to race and he cleared his throat. "Thought I’d show you the planet Midnight. Absolutely gorgeous, beautiful planet." He glanced down at her, that wonderful smile of hers contagious as ever.
"And then," he continued, leaning back further against the railing and looking up the TARDIS’ ceiling. "I thought, ‘Y’know what Rose would like even more than some boring, tourist planet? A planet, lost for centuries to everyone else in the universe besides those who inhabit it.’ "
"This sounds exciting already!" She smiled and faced him. "What’s this planet called? It has to be something exotic if it’s new." Her grin stretched across her entire face, from ear to ear. She was truly excited. She would always travel with the Doctor and there would always be new places to go and see. It was a never ending journey and she was glad to be on it.
"And how could a place called Midnight be a boring tourist attraction anyways? It sounds beautiful!" She walked up to the console and turned, facing him again. She saw a huge grin on his face. "Why are you smiling at me like that?"
It wasn’t that he was ignoring her, he just didn’t have an answer. And it wasn’t that the question was hard, and the answer was simple, and yet so complicated at the same time. She was the reason he was smiling, she was the reason he smiled at all anymore, really. But there was so much more to it.
It was in the way she smiled, the way she laughed, the way she always knew what to say. It was in the way she looked at him, like there was nobody else in the world. It was in the way that no matter what he did, what she saw, she never left his side, nothing keeping them apart for long. It was in the way nobody had ever touched him the way she had, how this single girl had changed him for the better the moment he saw her.
"Oddly enough," he started, pushing off from the railing and walking over to the console. "Nobody knows the real name. Some call it the Missing Planet or the Lost Planet, but as for the real name. Nobody but those living there know it." The Doctor danced his usual dance, jumping and leaping about the TARDIS in the way he did, flipping switches and pulling levers. The TARDIS began to groan, and they both grabbed the console as the ship took off.
She grinned as she held tight to the console as the TARDIS took off. She loved everything about the TARDIS: the sound it made when she took off and landed, how it was bigger on the inside but looked small on the outside, and of course the Doctor. She would always love every single minute of traveling with the Doctor.
"The Lost Planet, huh? Now that definitely sounds like an adventure!" Her smile widened as the TARDIS shook and groaned. She could only think of what kind of creatures lived on this planet. She figured that they would run into something that would need their help and she was ready.
"What kind of creatures live on this planet Doctor?" Now she was curious. She was ready for anything this time.
There was a loud crash as the TARDIS landed, and they fell to the floor in a fit of laughter. That’s one thing he couldn’t live without, the sound of her laugh echoing through the empty and vast air of the TARDIS. There was just no possible way he could imagine life without it.
After a moment he jumped back up, offering his hand to her. She took it, and as he gently pulled her up she fell forward against him. The Doctor glanced down at her, their eyes locking, and he caught his breath. There were a number of things that he wanted to do at that moment, and for once, he could barely focus on any one of them as they sped by in his mind. He opened his mouth to speak, but somewhere the words got lost inside, and instead he cleared his throat and stepped back, turning to head for the door.
He grabbed his long coat as he passed back and, glancing back at her over his shoulder, slipped it on. “Let’s go find out, eh?”
She blushed lightly as she fell forward against him. She then gathered herself together as he grabbed his coat and began walking toward the door.
She could only imagine what kind of creatures stand outside the doors of the TARDIS. She knew this would be an exciting adventure for the both of them.
As she opened the door, she was met with one of the most beautiful planets she had visited. There were so many vibrant and beautiful colors, many she had never even seen before! She turned around and faced the Doctor. “We’re gonna have fun this time! I just know it! I mean look at this place! It’s beautiful!” She smiled as she grabbed his hand and interlocked their fingers together. “Come on!”
The Doctor flashed her a grin as they stepped outside, hand in hand, into the bright light of the nameless planet. Colors exploded all around them, and he glanced down at her. Rose barely looked as if she knew where to look; and who could blame her? There were endless ways to describe what they stood amidst, but it wasn’t even the beginning of this planet.
"C’mon," he said, holding tight to her hand as he shut the TARDIS door and started forward. Careful where he stepped, the Doctor made his way through the vibrant foliage. There wasn’t exactly a clear and beaten path to follow. He soon realized how lucky they’d been to land in a tiny clearing. Two feet further in any direction and they would’ve been climbing trees.
She could hardly believe anything that was before her. She had seen many different planets before but none of them compared to this one. Plus, they were both learning about this planet at the same time. She glanced over at the Doctor and saw a grin on his face. She could easily tell that he was enjoying himself.
She let go of his hand and walked over to one of the trees. She reached her hand out towards it and gently placed her hand on it. The bark of the tree was softer than she expected it to be. “Doctor,” she said, glancing back at him. “This tree, the bark is soft.”
She walked around the tree, her hand still on the bark. “Why do you suppose it’s soft?” She looked up to find herself in the clearing, but the Doctor was no where in sight. “Doctor? Where are you?” She looked to her left and the TARDIS was gone as well.
Being so slim it was easy enough for him to slip through the tighter squeezes of the huge jungle. His height however, was another story. Every other step the Doctor was forced to stoop down beneath branches or enormous leaves and flowers that were too heavy or awkward to push aside. But nothing was able to keep that mouth of his closed. "-and it wasn't til the year 5 billion and 43, circa era of - Rose?" He stopped, one leg half way over a fallen, purple tree as he looked around, eyebrows cocked. "Rose?" But as he looked back down the way they had come, the way they were headed, and everyway in between, he saw nothing of his blonde companion. This wasn't good. Who knew where she could be?
