ravenclaw is the sound of birds singing early in the morning. ravenclaw is sunrises despite usually missing them because you stayed up too late watching documentaries. ravenclaw is not doing homework until 3am because you’d much rather learn about something that really interests you. ravenclaw is knowing random facts but not knowing how or why. ravenclaw is being organised but still somehow messy. ravenclaw is listening to a song or album obsessively but miraculously not getting sick of it. ravenclaw is scribbled lines of poetry you came up with but never got round to writing. ravenclaw is messy bookshelves with too many books and not enough shelf space and home projects you think will go wrong but turn out right. it’s not reading anything for months then suddenly devouring two books in a day. it’s looking out a window daydreaming for hours instead of finishing the paper due tomorrow, it’s staring at your wall instead of getting dressed after taking a shower. ravenclaw is the twinkle in someone’s eye when they talk about something they love, it’s scanning the sky after a sunset for constellations. it’s the echo of footsteps in an otherwise empty room, of heels on a ballroom floor. it’s the silence of midnight and inexplicable deep love of the night. ravenclaw is an irrevocable love for the arts and scarves blowing in the wind of wintery days. it’s all this and so much more
