Were you afraid to work with spirits before you started?

1.) Were you afraid to work with spirits before you started?

Yesssss I was extremely intimidated by the concept of interacting with something/someone that was noncorporeal. I was convinced I would either offend the entity or get taken advantage of

Wellll I think the thing that I find most offensive is when people from reality shows/ghost hunter shows try to tease/call out a spirit, it just makes me mad that they would treat a spirit with anything less than basic human respect ESPECIALLY when they don't know who or what they're contacting

3.) If you could work with any type of spirit with no consequences, what spirit would you seek out?

Gosh, I think it would be extremely interesting to interact with a dark entity/demon; I would never in my right mind try to attempt that unless there were no consequences. I just feel like it would be a lifechanging interaction

4.) Do you contact deities? Are you a worshiper of that deity or do you simply acknowledge their presence?

Yes! The deity that I contact regularly is Anubis. He's my patron deity and guardian. There's never a period of time that I don't feel his presence. I have contacted a few other deities, mostly because I was doing the godphone-shuffle trying to figure out who the hell is trying to get my attention. The last incident I remember contacting a deity started with Persephone who made it obvious that it wasn't she that was trying to get my attention and she redirected me to Aphrodite. I assumed that Aphrodite wanted to work with me, but as it turns out, she just wanted to point our that my self esteem is dangerously low and I really need to do something about that. I literally made an altar to her and gave offerings and haven't felt her presence since....so....I guess she just wanted me to know to get my shit together????

5.) What’s your go to banishing method for naughty spirits?

Generally.....I use the "I did not get no sleep cause of yall" method with a bell. I've found it an extremely easy way to clear energy in a room.

6.) What’s a story about your favorite spirit to work wit h?

Other than Anubis I don't generally try to work with other spirits, the only one I got introduced to was a spirit from my childhood home. He was connected to this small well in my back yard that I often dropped rocks into and would call out to what I thought was a grudge like monster. I always felt a presence as a kid, though normally I was convinced it was something scary because of the dark energy in my home. Apparently, he was always looking out for me.

7.) Have you met any “strange” or unique spirits? Tell us about them. These spirits don’t exist in the “real” world in the way we people do. What’s the word you use the place where they exist? (Ex. Astral, Aether, Otherworld, etc)

The only spirit I can distinctly remember was when I had some sort of interruption in a dream and was transported suddenly to this vast black and white desert. I looked beside me to see a black horse and then I started panicking because i didn't have a clue where I was or what was happening. I spun around trying to find where I might be or where I should start walking and when I turned to the horse again it was a tall figure in a black cloak that was trying to tell me something important. His voice was all muffled and I couldn't understand and he got extremely frustrated. Then suddenly I woke up in a cold sweat in my bed.

8.) What was your biggest newbie mistake? What advice would you give others to avoid this?

I think maybe just getting too in my head about it all. I was scared to the point of paralysis.

When I was young, my childhood bedroom (that was extremely haunted) faced a closet and had its back to the attic. I remember distinctly one night that I woke up with sleep paralysis and when I tried to move suddenly out of the corner of my eye a figure only as tall as my eye level laying in my bed watched me while it moved from the attic door to the end of my bed where I couldn't see it. It was the scariest moment of my life because it wasn't human looking, but had human characteristics. Something about its face was just wrong
