Part 3, the prince and the villain
A loud crash echoed throughout the house and Janus poked his head out of the bland room to see two similar looking people in odd clothing wrestling in the room across the hall. One was wearing mainly white with a red sash and the other was wearing black with a green sash. The latter pinned the former and shouted.
“HE SHOULD DIE IN THE END! NO STORY WOULD END THAT PERFECTLY!” He had on dark purple eyeshadow around his eyes and a streak of white dyed hair that fell over his eyes with a mustache on his upper lip. Janus realized that the two men on the floor looked like brothers. The one that was pinned was wearing simpler makeup and didn’t have dyed hair, but they both had the same build and their hair was the same shade.
“Excuse me! Then his love interest would be extremely sad! And I do not want him to be dead!” The one in white rolled over and pinned his brother.
“It’s not always about what you want-” The black-clothed figure spotted Janus watching them. “Oh hello! Your new right? I’m Remus and this is stinky mcburgerstine!”
The one in white gasped and stood up. “I am so sorry for my stupid brother. My name is Roman.” He roughly pulled his brother up to stand next to him.
Janus ducked his head a little to ensure that his burns stayed covered and to give him a more menacing appearance. “And I’m going to unpack. If you’ll excuse me.” He started down the hall and Remus ran after him, tackling him from behind.
With a loud laugh, Remus tried to wrestle him to the ground while Roman started towards them with a gasp. “Remus Henry Princeton! Get off of him!”
Janus grabbed his attacker’s arms and flipped him over, twisting and pinning his arms behind him. He whispered into his ear with a small growl. “Don’t ever attack me again.” He let go of him and painted a smile on his face. “It’s alright. Roman was it? Perhaps you might learn how to keep your fighting a little quieter. And I must say, no story should end without a bit of death. Life doesn't have happy endings.” He turned sharply and started towards the stairs. He heard a laugh from Remus and a huff of indignation from Roman.
He almost fell down the stairs when a figure clothed in leather ran past him, on the phone. He could only hear a snippet of the conversation. “What do you mean!? A sale! Ok, meet me at Starbucks ten minutes ago! I need that new frap gurl!” The man paused and turned, glancing at Janus. “Hey, new dude! I’m getting you a frap too!”
Janus didn't have a chance to say a word before the man continued down the stairs. A brown bag that hung around his shoulders flew behind him as he rushed around the corner, running towards what Janus assumed was the garage. He walked out the front door and unlocked his car. He popped open the trunk and pulled out two suitcases, a very full backpack, and a large box. “Two trips,” He thought to himself. But instead of following his mental note, he pulled on the backpack, grabbed the box with one hand, and the two suitcases with the other. He started back towards the house with hands full.
He made it through the door with no problem and was halfway up the stairs before the weight of everything finally caused him to stumble backward. He felt himself start to fall when two hands pressed into his back. He put down the box and suitcases, turning to see who had prevented him from what could have been a disastrous fall.
