Iâm drunk and I canât find the lizard king comic or remember the authorâs name.
This one?
FUCK!!! YES!!! THIS
The cool (bad) thing about capitalism is that like, most companies donât manufacture their own shit, so everything you buy, like TVs are manufactured using the same parts. If you get a Sony TV and you get a Samsung TV, they were made in the same facility by some underpaid worker.
I explained this about food (I worked in a packing plant for a couple of months, and watched the same raw ingredients get put in the home brand and brand name boxes, to be sold at different prices and marketed at different percentages of the population) to some people in a club and they thought I was making it up and whilst I realize now that 2am when Iâm 3 discobikkies down isnât exactly the best place to explain the intricacies of the myth of the âfree marketâ under capitalism but it made me realise that a disconcerting amount of people donât want to know
Hereâs another intcheresting fact. I once worked at the biggest ice cream factory in the world. We produced the Brandâs ice cream, but also all of the competitors. So if youâre eating like, a Dilly bar from Dairy Queen, that was made in a factory in Iowa, the same place where they make most other pre packaged ice cream products.
im DONOT care if the birbs are not here yet THEY WILL BE and i MUST yelle
Another Mother Tongue: Gay Words, Gay Worlds - Judy Grahn (1984)
Really simple demonstration of sexism - female politicians like Michelle Obama were criticized for having âresting bitch faceâ because they were caught with serious or even angry looking expressions on their faces during candid moments when they didnât know they were being photographed.
This guy poses with this expression on his face for a photoshoot to convey power and authority. Look at the deliberately narrowed eyes and clenched mouth. Thatâs the expression of someone ready to fight. Itâs not even an accidental expression, itâs a cultivated image.
Anger in men = authority.
Anger in women = bitch.
Maybe this is a dumb comparison but when women say âI donât have a gender identity, I donât believe in genderâ a lot of genderists will say âoh so youâre agenderâ, and it reminds me of when Christians tell atheists âoh so you worship Satanâ⊠like, they just canât imagine someone being outside of their particular belief system altogether.
Nope. This comparison is spot on.
You just have to say ââI donât identify as anything, I am just a womanââ and then they will be like ââSo you identify as a woman?ââ
Just like religious fundamentalists and conspiracy theorists, they twist everything to fit into the framework of their beliefs. Dinosaur fossils prove the earth is more than 6000 years old? Nuh-uh, the devil put them there to make people doubt god! Women use a neutral objective word to denote their sex? Must be cis! Some people donât identify with any gender? Nice try, but thatâs a gender identity too, itâs called agender!
If youâre sufficiently ignorant and sufficiently invested, itâs possible to explain absolutely everything in terms of, and make everything consonant with, whatever made-up shit you and your cult believe in.
Just remember. There is no such thing as a fake geek girl. There are only fake geek boys. Science fiction was invented by a woman.
Specifically a teenage girl. You know, someone who would be a part of the demographic that some of these boys are violently rejecting.
Isaac Asimov.
yo mary shelley wrote frankenstein in 1818 and isaac asimov was born in 1920 so you kinda get my point
If you want to push it back even further Margaret Cavendish, the duchess of Newcastle (1623-1673) wrote The Blazing World in 1666, about a young woman who discovers a Utopian world that can only be accessed via the North Pole - oft credited as one of the first scifi novels
Women have always been at the forefront of literature, the first novel (what we would consider a novel in modern terms)Â was written by a woman (Lady Muraskaiâs the Tale of Genji in the early 1000s) take your snide âIsaac Asimovâ reblogs and stick it
even in terms of male scifi authors, asimov was predated by Jules Verne, HG Wells, George Orwell, you could have even cited Poe or Jonathan Swift has a case but Asimov?
PbbBFFTTBBBTBTTBBTBTTT so desperate to discredit the idea of Mary Shelly as the mother of modern science fiction you didnât even do a frickin google search For Shame
And if you want to go back even further, the first named, identified author in history was Enheduanna of Akkad, a Sumerian high priestess.
Kinda funny, considering this Isaac Asimov quote on the subject:
Mary Shelley was the first to make use of a new finding of science which she advanced further to a logical extreme, and it is that which makes Frankenstein the first true science fiction story.
Even Isaac Asimov ainât having none of your shit, not even posthumously.
You know what else was invented by women? Masked vigilantes, the precursor to the modern superhero. Baroness Emma Orczy wrote The Scarlet Pimpernel in 1905. The character would later inspire better known masked vigilantes such as Zorro and Batman.
Got that?
Stick that in your international pipe and smoke it
I have literally been telling people this for over a year.
the first extended prose piece - ie a novel, was not, as many male scholars will shout, Don Quixote (1605) but The Tale of Genji (1008) written by a woman
The first autobiography ever written in English is also attributed to a woman, The Book of Margery Kempe (1430s).
The day may come when I find this post and do not reblog it, but it is not this day.
Women invented language while men were hunting. I meanâŠ
And art.
And also probably calendars, and mathematics.
All things men have spent centuries trying to convince women weâre too stupid to understand. How about that.

The statue doesnât have big enough titties to have been made by a man.
I know Iâve reblogged this before but the schadenfreude is too delicious.
By the way, the statue is called La mélodie oubliée (The Forgotten Melody). Luo Li Rong also painted it:
And here she and the statue are in a more formal setting (museum or art show, I canât tell):
âDork ass losersâ
OK not only do I think sheâs a sorceress but now I have a massive crush on her
women are so beautiful in their natural state! not photoshopped or posed perfectly to look âmore appealingâ to men. women are beautiful with chubby tummies, with big thighs and belly rolls. women are beautiful when their breasts arenât perky and when they donât have breasts at all. theyâre beautiful with scars and cellulite and no makeup on and when they genuinely smile. women are just the most beautiful when theyâre being themselves.
maybe itâs just the lesbianism but over the course of the last few months, as ive grown more secure and more at home in my sexuality, ive found increasingly that the things i like most about women are the things society hates most about us. i like our muscles. i like our bellies and the way the skin folds on the stomach. i like our shoulders, wide and strong, or small and weak. i like strong jaws and confident eyes and loud voices. i like obnoxious laughs that snort and chortle and fill the whole room with bubbles that snap and pop like bubblegum let loose. i like strength, i like a woman who takes up space, who spreads her legs and stomps her feet and grins toothily at her friends. i like a woman with dimples. i like a woman with freckles and blemishes and acne scars, with stretch marks and hairy legs and curves where they donât like them and straight lines where they do. i like a bony girl, i like the way the clavicle looks, i like the gap between the neck and the shoulder, i like the way sunlight catches on the sweat hanging from the peachfuzz on the upper lipâŠi like a lot of things about women that society told me to hate about usâŠrealizing i was a lesbian revealed to me the beauty in âuglyâ things that i had never considered before. none of these traits is something i âwork pastâ when falling for a girl â they are things i love just as much on a woman as society loves a womanâs long hair or perfect curves. the so-called â"imperfectionsââ only serve to captivate me more.
the ideal dream is slow dancing w a girl in our living room, were both very bad at it but were having fun n its romantic n candles are lit n we keep kissing⊠shes in my arms n im in hers n we never wanna let go of each other again⊠can that happen already please

Conservatives: There are only 2 genders, boy and girl. Boys must be masculine and grow into strapping young men, they must be strong and protective. Girls must be feminine and become delicate, elegant young women, they must be nurturing and submissive.
Radical feminists: There are only 2 sexes, male and female. Your sex should not define your social class, or what society expects of you. Your sex does not dictate how you dress, think and behave.
Trans activists: These 2 views are the same.
I wanna be one of those people thatâs like ârespect peopleâs identities if they arenât harming anyone!!!â but then I see cishets saying that theyâre lgbt bc theyâre only attracted to smart people or bc they donât want to have sex unless they know the person and Iâm like damn,,,, y'all really gotta test me donât you
