I think iConnect would be a more apt term. Because web 3.0 would connect us to everything - RSS feeds, the web, email, sms, games, sns, msn, chat, mobile - anywhere anytime...iConnect :)

I've only bought a few things online, mainly from eBay, but now I've discovered Catchoftheday, I shop online more. I watched A Current Affair last night and there was a segment on online shopping. You can save so much money, it's incredible. If you are on a budget it really pays to look into it. As long as it's a reputable site and you're not worried about security - I say give it a go. Of course it's tricky buying clothes and shoes online because you can't try them on, but I'd be willing to buy just about anything else.

I know people who refuse to put credit card details into a computer, my mum included. I don't give it a second thought. Maybe someone could shed a bit of light on this subject...is it really safe???

What worries me about online grocery shopping is how well they keep the food cold. When I had my first child I had some food home delivered and the ham only lasted 2 days...I wondered how long it had been sitting in the back of the drivers truck!

"A few years from now we’ll use our mobile devices to help us remember details of people we know" (Arrington, 2008). I can relate to this. I use my mobile phone as a note-taker, diary and task list. I keep notes about my contacts in it like I would an address book, to remember birthdays, anniversaries, their partners and kids names too. In as little as 5yrs I think we will be using our mobiles for more than just phone calls, photos and social networking. Mobile devices will become more interactive and will access many many platforms. Arrington, M (2008). I saw the future of social networking the other day. William - what you said about viewing the internet on holograms reminded me of the movie Iron Man where Tony Stark accesses the web and blue-prints in a holographic format - just sitting there in the air...amazing. That would be way cool!

I have learned so much during this unit. The most memorable are: * Copyright laws - I now choose images with Creative Commons licences and ask permission; * Internet Footprints and Digital Shadows - I now ask permission to tag people in photos and am cautious when uploading information about myself and my family; * Wikis - I can't wait for the opportunity to create a wiki that can be used to plan a special ocassion or for a workplace I am excited about technology - I always have been. I still have my very first digital game - the original orange Donkey Kong hand-held game. I can't bring myself to throw it away. I'm a gamer from way back, but nowadays I don't play games so much as I use social networking sites for fun. My concern for the future is that we may all end up like the people on the movie Wall-E - sitting on our backsides in our tracksuits chatting on mobile devices, accessing all we need on a machine, ordering takeaway food, and not exercising. Or like in the movie the Surrogates with Bruce Willis where everyone uses a virtual self...scary stuff!
