right now Doctors have far too much leeway to override patient autonomy for their own good. Involuntary psych holds, "can't give you a hysterectomy because you might want kids one day", the many things I've said about pain medications being gated behind the doctors eyeballing if you're addict, etc.

lesson 8: in some ways privilege, be it gendered or racialised or otherwise, is like walking through life with a hammer duct-taped to your hand. you didn't ask for the hammer, there are few (if any) personal consequences for using it and when you're pissed off, it can be really really tempting to swing it. you must never do this, even if you have one million ways to justify it to yourself. even if you hate a particular woman, you must resist the urge to weaponise misogyny against her. there are no exceptions to this.

You know that tidbit about how "if you want to be a girl/boy, but you don't want to consider yourself transgender or commit to any form of transition because 'I'd make an ugly girl/boy!', then you are already transgender and a girl/boy"? The same is true for non-binary people. If what's stopping you from thinking of yourself as non-binary is a fear that you'll turn out ugly or like a caricature of a non-binary person, or that no-one will ever view you as worthy of love if you're non-binary, you are non-binary and expressing gender dysphoria and imposter syndrome. Just thought I'd let you know.
