❄SOLD!❄ The symbolism of the Yule Goat is fascinating to me. In Scandinavian and Germanic cultures, folks celebrated a goat that would come and give gifts, or sometimes punish children if they were bad. It’s very similar to Krampus from what I’ve read, but not so demonic. I think it originated in Indo-European cultures. The straw goat ornaments are a modern invention, and giant straw goats are built and burned in some places. ✨This weaving is my favorite so far. It was a dream to embroider and I got to be more creative with the embellishments.
