Little known fact about me, my home screen is basically just a collage of all my favourite characters or actors from different media. Characters I have hyperfixation over and likely will hyperfixation over again (or who were just too iconic of a role in my fictional journey to leave off).

Sometimes life feels like driving a car, but you’re extremely trigger happy and usually pretty premature about using the brakes. However, every once in a while you’ll get distracted, be in a hurry, or have a set destination in mind. And you end up breaking a little bit too late. And you realize that if you want to not come to a full stop in the middle of the intersection, you’re just gonna have to full send, pedal to the metal get through before you run the red light. And the whole time your heart is just racing as you keep your head on a swivel as you enter not-thinking-but-overthinking mode that kinda just goes “AHHH OMG OMG IDK WHAT’S HAPPENING IDK WHAT I’M DOING AND I’M GONNA DIE!” But then you make it to the other side and you’re either like “oh, wait, I had plenty of time, I panicked over nothing” or “OMG I ALMOST JUST CAUSED WRECK THANK THE GODS THAT’S OVER”

So like. Katsuki Bakugo is obviously the narrative’s favourite, if later seasons are anything to go off of.

But has anyone ever considered that MHA is canonically told from the perspective of Izuku years later? So, in my BKDK loving heart I choose to headcanon that Izuku is just an unreliable narrator. Actually, a lot of MHA is super fun to think about is Izuku is an unreliable narrator. Like. Imagine all the events he wasn’t there for, and how they are presented in the show. Then imagine that they are all told from the perspective of Izuku, who wasn’t there.

Like, that’s not actually what’s happening, but it certainly IS a fun thought experiment, and it does explain the Bakugo favouritism quite nicely. Because romantic or not, they are soulmates.

Anyways. Feast Bkdk fans still alive in 2026 and beyond. Feast.

Thought I hadn’t improved at humanoids all that much, but holy shit the second one was from a YEAR ago, and I tried redrawing / redesigning the character because I started thinking about her again. And I shocked myself.

Like there’s still issues (like, I’m realizing the backpack is defying the laws of physics and matter now that I reevaluate the whole thing again) but holy cow! Ego booster!

Katsuki Bakugo is one of those characters I would probably *willingly* write an essay about dissecting his character and defending the fact that even though he did some horribly fucked up shit in middle school, that shouldn’t mean his character should be villainized as a bad person for the rest of his existence.

Like yes, it is terrible to bully people, and even *worse* to tell them to kill themselves, but that doesn’t mean he is STILL that terrible person post-arc and should continue to be judged for his actions. ESPECIALLY not when he APOLOGIZED for it in an incredibly nuanced and mature way, which I see a lot of people online who haven’t seen the show in a while tending to forget. They forget the emotional maturity he gains, and only remember the shock value of the “swan dive” comment, and I feel it’s a disservice to his character.

At the end of the day, Katsuki Bakugo was a child having complicated feelings who had his bad behavior rewarded by the support system that should have been keeping him in line. Literally all it took was ONE YEAR of having proper roll models and a decent good-influence environment not full of shit hole teachers and students for him to realize how terrible he’d been to Izuku. Which basically tells you a LOT about the environment of their middle school (if it wasn’t obvious by what little we saw of it). Literally all it took was a bit of humbling, good teachers, good friends with decent moral compasses (and a couple of traumatic experiences I guess) and he was all but fixed in a year.

Does that make what he did okay? No! Absolutely not! There is never an excuse for that kind of behaviour. BUT, it’s not ENTIRELY his fault that things got so bad to begin with. His mother (and *possibly* his father but we genuinely just see like nothing of him or how he interacts with Katsuki all he ever does is just be there trying to calm his two pomeranians down) was probably the only person in his life who ever tried to give him reality checks, and what 14 year old boy is going to listen to the woman who screams at him all the time vs. literally every other adult and peer in his life.

There’s more I could say, but I think I’ll just leave it there for now. Since this got pretty long as it is.

In my recently developed bkdk heart (I only just watched the series a week or so ago), “Bakugo: Rising” would be when Bakugo realized he was in love with Izuku (right before he moved to push him out of the way), and “The End of an Era and The Beginning” / “Quirk: Explosion” (when Bakugo got up and they made eye contact from across like. What unit of measurement to I even use here? A LONG ASS DISTANCE) would be when Izuku realized he was in love with Bakugo. They both knew they cared for each other before then, and the rocky road that is their history makes me tentative to say there wasn’t an exact moment where they FELL in love with one another. It just sort of developed over time until they went ‘oh shit.’ But yeah.

Anyways that’s just my thoughts that nobody really asked for or cares about.

(Pls don’t come for me on the ship drama I am not about that smoke I just want to enjoy my gays in peace. Pls recognize I am not harming anyone by talking about fictional characters being in love, even if it’s not canon, and let me be. I’m new here and this fandom seems very scary when it comes to that stuff)

Do you ever get the “I wanna go hang out with the company that’s over because I’m bored and don’t wanna be accused of being antisocial” but simultaneously the “I don’t wanna go hang out with the company because I won’t want to hear the “ohh look who finally came to hang out!”

Concept idea: Kind of basic and I’m sure it’s been done before, but what if you took all of (or at least a handful) or Aristotle’s main virtues (I.e. courage, liberty, temperance, etc) randomized which ones would be in excess and which ones would be in deficiency, then built characters around each concept where their story arc basically revolves around getting to their ‘golden mean’ and then plastered them all in a world together.

The most irritating thing in the world is when you want to watch videos of a cute platonic friendship and all that comes up are videos of an incredibly popular ship with one of the characters. Like. I’m so upset y’all.

I found a beautifully written, unfinished Langst fix in my Google docs from last year. And. Omg it’s so good. It was JUST getting so good. But I have NO QUIZNAKING CLUE where I was going with it. But I wanna finish it, so I am calling to the Tumblr void in hopes that at least on person out there can give me a hand in brainstorming.

Basically, Lance gets hit by this weird supersonic new Galra tech that emits a rlly loud noise that fucks up his ears and stuns him. He recovers initially and is okay enough, they win the fight, he still has a bit of a headache but they go home and go to bed.

He wakes up the next morning and realizes the headache is worse, but the planet wants to celebrate Voltron so he doesn’t say anything, grits and bears it, whatever. However, each super loud noise seems to, little by little, make the headache worse. (It’s also important to note that in telepathic conversations with Blue she seems to note something is wrong. This isn’t just sensitivity to the noise and prolonged pain. She can sense something amiss)

My main concern with continuing this fic is: where tf was I gonna have this go? What magical only partially scientifically relevant thing was gonna happen to him? What’s ACTUALLY wrong with him? Or, at the very least, what’s a good place you think it could go to now?

I’m not expecting this to get much of a response, but I figured I’d shoot my shot anyways.

Edit: After sleeping on it a few more details have returned to my memory. I vaguely remember envisioning a scene where Lance got super dizzy and disoriented and had to like secretly step out of the celebration for a moment.

Double Edit: Got some ideas juicing around now let’s see how this goes, tysm! The tumblr void was on my side!

ATSUSHI AND RANPO: AN UNDERRATED DUO (PLATONIC)

Okay so, one of my favourite yet underrated/under-utilized pairings in canon are Ranpo and Atsushi, both because of their rlly interesting parallels and because they’re my two most favourite characters in the show (sue me). They just have such good potential for some interesting character dynamics both with their personalities and their upbringings. They manage to be so similar and yet so different all at the same time and I rlly wish the canon would look more into it.

To start off, we’ll look at the similarities between their backstories. They were both socially ostracized orphans struggling to find a place in the world who happened to stumble across a couple of weirdos who splurged their budget to feed them while they were on their way/in the middle of working a job. They then agreed to assist these strangers on their job which inevitably led to them being accepted into that person/those people’s worlds, and ultimately having their lives changed for the better. They then both ended up meeting an orphaned little girl whose power had been abused and misused to the point where they thought their powers were evil and that they were terrible, irredeemable people. Girls who they took in, helped to comfort/heal and inevitably ended up forging a sort of sibling-dynamic relationship with. Additionally, Ranpo and Atsushi both care deeply about the ADA, and view it as one of if not THE only place where they express themselves freely and operate without scorn or retribution. It is their safe haven, and the only family they have/have ever known, and they are fiercely protective over it. They will do anything to defend their ragtag group and keep the ones they care for out of harm’s way. In a way, Atsushi and Kyouka are kind of like this generation of the ADA’s version of Ranpo and Yosano (with some obvious differences ofc).

Yet, despite all these similarities, their personalities are vastly different. Where Atsushi is fearful, self loathing and selfless, Ranpo is bold, arrogant and selfish. One is a textbook people pleaser with a deeply encroached fear towards the anger/feelings of others, and the other is constantly irritating the people around him and he couldn’t care less. Atsushi seems to be attracting danger (through no fault of his own), whereas Ranpo is usually the one people tune to in order to get RID of problems. In terms of how they act, they could not be more opposite to each other (this is an exaggeration, I’m sure they could).

They also didn’t get off on the best of terms either. Atsushi’s initial impression Ranpo was that he was this lazy, egotistical man child with a massive superiority complex (as most people think of him at first). Ranpo saw Atsushi as someone completely not worth the effort of going to rescue from kidnapping despite Atsushi already having been accepted into the Agency by everyone else. He simply could not have cared less. However, as the series progress we see their relationship warm. Atsushi gains a quick respect for the importance of Ranpo’s talents, and even begins carrying sweets around on missions with Ranpo “just in case.” Ranpo’s care for Atsushi grows as he becomes a true part of the Agency members, to the point where he quite literally entrusts Atsushi with his life when he goes into the book after learning Fukuchi’s true identity.

My only wish is that we’d get to see that development just a LITTLE BIT more. Like. A nice soft fluffy moment between the two shouldn’t be too much to ask for, should it? Considering I as able to write… uh… literally all of this based on the very minimal interactions they’ve had in the show thus far, I think it’s fair to say they have the potential to be a very, very interesting dynamic.

In short, GIVE ME MORE OF MY BEST BOIS TOGETHER! I’ll even settle for just a canonical scene of Ranpo making Atsushi give him a ride on his back! Or, Atsushi the ultimate compliment giver and Ranpo the infamous praise absorber? Perfect! Give me a scene of Atsushi just gassing Ranpo up and him being all for it! Because ofc he would be! I just. URG! I love them! If you have any fanfic content featuring the two of them pls send it my way!
