Hello everyone!
I'm announcing that my ttrpg, All Warnings Red, is now available for playtesting on itch.io! It's a Blades In The Dark-style game with high stakes combat, character classes with unique abilities, exciting travels through post-apocalyptic eastern europe, and a variety of GM tools to make running the game a breeze!
I'll be posting about it more in the days to come. Feedback is greatly appreciated!

the first time i ever wondered how many incidents there had been before they had to make a sign was at this anaheim motel that had a tiny continental breakfast room and a full on engraved plaque above the toaster that said āplease do not put danish in toasterā

undoubtedly my like. third most favorite thing about silksong is how undeniably woke it is. for lack of a better term. not to unironically call something woke but like. if someone tried to argue with me that hollow knight was woke, i would probably stare at them like they had two heads. like, yeah, ok, there's pronouns?? but you can't really boil down a game as nuanced and expansive as hollow knight into as slim of a category as 'woke'
but if someone tried to argue to me that silksong was woke like there's literally nothing i can say about that. i can't argue against it. and honestly i don't want to. yeah silksong is woke. i think if a misogynist tried to play silksong they would get an allergic reaction and be vaporized on the spot. and it's awesome.
like i remember hearing about a reddit thread where someone was going "there's a new game dropping soon and everyone's really excited about it and i'm really excited about it, but... the protagonist of the game is a WOMAN :( and i just don't really want to play a game where the main character is a WOMAN... any advice?"
and he didn't SAY the game was silksong to be fair. at least not in the body of the post. but that was the only game dropping soon that matched the description, and so everyone in the comments was like "you mean silksong?? the game about BUGS? the game that's about BUGS? where you play as a SPIDER? the BUG GAME? about BUGS? you're mad about BUG women? women who are BUGS?"
and like. that was funny even before the game came out because that's just a crazy thing to say. but THEN silksong came out AND it was woke, and it drives me up the wall. i laugh so hard i get sick. i think every one of that guy's fears came to pass in that video game, and they were all executed in the most nuanced and gorgeous and least ham-fisted way possible. he honestly might be dead. silksong might have simply killed him.
I should draw rouge the bat. But in what circumstance

i think the most upsetting thing about american-flavor puritanism is how fucking patronizing it is. it's 2026 but the whole world still has to deal with a cultural hegemony grown from the gnarled vestiges of victorian-era paternalism. tax-paying adults with passports and the right to vote are treated like wayward children because of the antiquated idea that authorities must protect the weak minds of the unwashed masses from depravity and corruption. the average american can send a fellow citizen to the chair, but they can't piss in a ditch without being declared an outlaw. american entertainment media is saturated with sex, but you can't talk about it online without getting your account suspended. it's such blatant censorship at a universal scale, but because sexual content is framed as inherently dangerous, this restriction on basic adult autonomy, this blanket denial of moral and intellectual adulthood, can be reframed as protection, an expression of care, a moral duty. I've seen plenty of people talking about how we see Murderbot's been growing and healing in Platform Decay as it's actually installed a mental health module (!) and does regular emotion checks (!!), but I have yet to see anyone talk about another huge indicator of Mb's growth: not wanting to give its humans a gun because it's afraid that shooting people will give them trauma!!! What a huge change from previous books, where it repeatedly stated that it didn't like nearby humans to have guns because they might shoot it, even by accident while trying to help. To me that's huge!
That one tumblr post about supine vs prone constantly haunts me. Iāll be reading a fic thatās like:
[character a] pushes [character b] onto his back, then straddles his prone body
meanwhile Iām reading like: heās not lying on his pronis, heās lying on his s(u)pineā¦
on my supine, straight up jorkin it, and by it let's just say haha my pronis

The crowd all parting to let it through and Mb thinks it must be its angry face and not the fact that everyone just heard its going off to protect them
When passengers spot it in the water and work together to pull it aboard
Random humans recognizing its heroism and working to help it
They hear its kid? say "They will kill you" they hear its wife? ask if it's "going to do the thing." It has a past the kids don't know about. It's going to protect everyone or die trying. Its going to buy its family time to get away. You know every human on that boat was relieved when it made it back aboard.
