A Lesson In Hair
A Connor Kenway x Reader One-Shot
Word Count: 1,434 Warnings: None
Author’s Note: For anyone wondering, I did multiple searches across the web for the information in this story. Some from wikipedia, but a majority from blogs and websites run by Native people who educate others on their beliefs! Enjoy! -Thorne
She’d come across it in a book she’d found one day in the community library they’d set up. Terrible, she wanted to admit, that she spent more and more days holed up in a pile of books than she did actually working. She was learning, so there was an upside to it. Still, someone somewhere had to have a problem with her sitting in the library all day. She drew her fingers gently across the page, eyes scanning the words, taking in the information.
Hair in the indigenous tribes is a major part of their culture. Though each tribe differs in their styles, the significance of their hair is seen to be found in all tribes. Not only is it important to the individual, but it is important to family and culture, promoting belonging, respect, and pride. Grooming is considered significant too, many tribes use braids to signify unity with life. A lesson has been also heard that single strands of hair are weak by themselves, but when braided together, the hair is strong, signifying strength. Most natives never cut their hair unless they have lost someone they cared for deeply, or they have had a major life change. As hair is seen as important to them, there are also rules that need to be followed, especially by outsiders. Touching someone’s hair without their permission is disrespectful; some find that even asking to touch is considered disrespectful as well. It is important-

What people think why i became a bookbinder: Oh she wants to explore her artistic horizon with those pretty leather bound books of hers. She even gives them out as gifts to her friends. It most likely helps her with anxiety or maybe she just wanted a more special costume made notebook.
Why I actually became a bookbinder: I just illegally downloaded and printed out several of my favourite fanfics and books and started binding them into books cuz I love reading them but looking at screens for too long gives me headaches.
op youre fucking big brained oh my god
If you want to i can send you a link to some of the Tutorial videos i started binding my fanfic books.

For ten pound.
Today, my bag was stolen. My keys were in it. with a keychain thats practically irreplaceable. If anyone was a fan of the Blackout before they broke up and got one of those clip/hook keychains with their band name on it. I will literally pay Ten pounds for it, if it is the one im looking for.
listen…i’ll probably never get over how good brotherhood’s first opening was
I just saw this on Reddit today and I wanted to share it here.
When you’re a parent, you have to realize that the child you brought into this world is going to be their own person and you’ll have to start getting into things you may not understand and have ZERO interest in.
However, you damn well better act like you are.
I can still remember the feeling as a kid getting Pokemon Red and it being something I loved so much, so I wanted to share that with my mom. I wanted to show her my team, tell her about the gym leaders I took down, and she just took a glance at the Game Boy color and went “mmhhhmm”.
She gave zero shits when I beat Banjo-Kazooie, a game which was INCREDIBLY hard for grade school me and you can make me have war flashbacks if you so much as say “Rusty Bucket Bay”.
My town in Animal Crossing? Catching rare fish? Who cares?
I liked a cartoon series so much that I wrote little stories about it? “No, I don’t want to read it.”
This type of stuff matters to kids so damn much and she’ll never realize how much it hurt our relationship. It might not seem like a big deal she never sat down and watched me play something like Luigi’s Mansion, but that’s how kids try and bond with their parents.
After constantly being shot down they’ll eventually stop talking to you entirely.
My mum and dad were always watching telly, so i’d be the one getting yelled at because i completed A videogame and wanted to share my accomplishment with them. After all these years of them, i know what not to do to my child whne i have one.
I plan to be a supercool parent.
I’m so mad because this worked

These never work for me, but here’s to trying.
I don’t believe in these things
But last time I reblogged one ten/fifteen minutes later I got a call offering me a job
But I reblogged it because I was waiting on hearing back from the job. So there you go.
Roger is cute.
I love Harry Potter
All of it, Literally, every single word.
Umbridge? sure she was a bitch, biggest bitch. what an arse. Still love the character. Love voldemort. so much love. Love Harry, Ron Hermione. Love they got together. Fred, George. Ultimate love. All time love, top of the list. I love them. Not overly fond of Cho, but that’s fine. Still a good character, good actor, love it.
Love everyone else, Literally everyone, even background characters. That blonde ravenclaw walking to class? Love her, the best. Black hufflepuff boy almost trips. Good on you mate, do well.
Love Fantastic beasts and where to find them. Newts clothes, loved them to pieces, bow tie, loved it. Loved the choice in actor. Loved all choice in actors The film is awesome, loved it so much. Cursed child, loved that too. Good book, good play, aint seen it, but it’s bound to be good. Bound to love it.
I literally just love it all. Regardless of who played them, what they looked like, who their character was, what the personality was like.No problem with any of it. Good shit. I. Loved. Every minute of it.

six fuckhead ass british people in croydon (south london) beat a rojhelatî teen (17yo) unconscious after he told them he was an ‘asylum seeker’. he was hanging out with two friends late friday night when a group of 8 people approached him and demanded to know where he was from. after telling them he was a refugee, they chased him and attacked him – leaving him unconscious with a fractured skull and a blood clot in the brain. he is in a serious but stable condition as of right now. four men and two women in their 20s were arrested on charges of attempted murder and violent disorder late on saturday.
rojhelatî = kurd from the eastern part of kurdistan (for anyone who doesn’t know)
Please donate to the Kurdish 17-year-old boy who was attacked recently leaving him a fractured skull and blood clot.
