Yes yes yes this scene thank you for the tag, heehehehe
Itâs funny because this scene must be based on the memoir Special Agent by Candis DeLong. In it she describes being out looking at clothes at a department store on lunch break with another female agent and overhearing a conversation between a man and a woman in which he says heâs an FBI agent. They peer around some clothes racks thinking that theyâre going to see one of their fellow agents trying to get a date, and when they donât recognize the guy they go over and pretend to be interested in the big strong FBI agent themselves and ask to see his badge. The guy actually pulled out a fake badge, whereupon they said âHuh, that doesnât look anything like oursâŚâ, produced their own badges and arrested him for impersonating an FBI agent. (I remember this bit from a 25 year old book because I actually stole it myself for a fic)

PSA to fan creators who don't have a lot of regular contact with children: They are almost always bigger than you think. A 1-year-old baby may already be walking. A toddler is likely already hip-high. A 10-year-old may already be taller than at least one of their parents. A 14/15 year old may already have reached their adult height.

Imagine doing a voice acting gig for a bank voice on a computer or whatever that you eventually completely forget about, only for it to one day come back to you when the FIRST intellectual alien lifeform that a human being has ever met decides to use it as their chosen voice. The mild horror. The exhilaration. The emotional punch. This is it. This is your magnum opus. You have given a human voice to a sentient rock and it will NEVER get better than this. Also, they picked you over MERYL STREEP?!?!

Sure thing! For convenience Iâll refer to the guy with his arms in his pockets as SG (shorter guy) and the one on the computer as TG (taller guy).
In the first panel, SG sees TG playing on the computer and is disappointed. SG puts a lot of value in the idea of âmaking things,â specifically âart,â and thinks TG is just wasting their time
So he asks them if they wouldnât rather be âmaking somethingâ instead of just playing games and listening to music, implying that TG isnât doing anything worthwhile or creative with their time
But TG replies that âinterpreting is generative,â meaning that even if they spend their time just doing fun stuff, the mere act of enjoying something is creating an experience and an interpretation. Talking about something, dancing to music or sharing a piece of art with your friends ISÂ âmaking something,â and each of those can be worthwhile and artistic.
SG leaves, complaining he âcanât be an auteur of [interpretation].â Auteur is a movie term that refers to a filmmaker with artistic control and vision enough to be considered essentially the singular creator of the resulting work of art. Turns out, SG doesnât just want to âmake things,â he wants to make things he and others see as âimportant.â He wants to make art not for the sake of art, but for the sake of being recognized and praised for his art.
This comic really speaks to elitism within the artistic community, the idea that art needs to meet certain standards to be considered art. SGâs viewpoint is really traditionalist, that art need to be âapprovedâ and validated in order to be considered âreally art;â while TG recognizes that art can be as little as just talking about what you love.
TLDR: Art is for everyone, not just some sort of social âartistic elite.â

Izuku turned around to face him carefully. "Ah hey Kachan, you know just buying some things mom requested" he explained sheepishly.
"Phantom is hurt isn't he?" Kachan questioned.
Izuku stiffened. "What are you talking about?"
"I am not stupid, Deku. He clearly defended you" Kachan scoffed.
"Huh? Help?" Danny looked into there aslie.
"That has nothing to do with you extra!" Kachan shouted.
"Do you need help?" Izuku asked.
Danny nodded and walked over towards him. He gave him a phone.
"What?" Danny pointed at it.
"How do you extra not know what a Phone is!?" Kachan exclaimed bewildered.
Danny's eyes widened and looked bewilderment at Kachan. "Flat"
"Have you never seen a phone before?" Izuku asked bewildered.
"Phone not flat" Danny took the phone out of Izuku's hands and looked at it closer.
"Deku. Why was the ghost bleeding?" Kachan ignore Danny to get back to the topic.
Danny said something in English, which none of them understood.
"What do you mean? Wasn't the ghost invisible?" Izuku countered.
"Don't play dumb with me!" Kachan shouted and got another step closer.
Only for Danny to step between them and showing of that he activated the phone. "On!"
"Danny we are not going to buy a phone" Izuku chuckled in amusement. "I have one at home"
Danny grinned and nodded. Before placing the phone back where he found it.
"You know that extra?" Kachan asked confused. He doesn't remember when the last time was that he heard Deku laughing, genuinely.
"Yeah... A coworker of my Mom's work asked us to look after him. Especially since he doesn't know much Japanese yet" Izuku explained.
"What's his quirk?" Kachan inquired curiously.
"Quirk less" Danny grinned as got back to them.
"Why the fuck would you be happy about that!?" Kachan exclaimed bewildered.

The best part about being asexual is knowing that you will never be honeypotted. I often picture myself as a mark in a James Bond movie who has information or something and Daniel Craig saunters up in his sexiest tux to seduce me and Iâm just like âNo thank youâ no matter what he does and then he has an existential crisis and walks away in a daze then sends in Moneypenny cause maybe I just like women and Iâm like âhey girl, no thanksâ and send her away as well and they just never get the information. What if Q suggests fav food bribes? Intense platonic-seduction tactics? The field agents being so brainwashed by conventional allosexual-seduction, but tech-teams and everyone else with a desk job probably has some baseline knowledge of the wider spectrum of human diversity and probably an account on tumblr for security reasons.
alright, i'll be the one to say it. ao3 and tumblr becoming "mainstream" did so much damage to the community and the writers. i have seen loads of videos and posts about:
1. people hating on writers and fics. writing is something we do for free and for fun. if you stumble upon a fanfic that isn't necessarily your cup of tea or you just don't like, scroll. dont read it. literally leave their page. you don't know if this could be the author's first work that they're so excited about, you dont know if the language they're writing in isn't their first language, you dont know that the writer could be a literal teen and loads of other reasons. fanfictions don't HAVE to be perfect. you write what you want to write because we do it for fun and enjoyment and we want to share that to the world. seriously, what is the wrong with that?..
2. x reader consumers getting WAY too entitled. the number of tiktoks i've seen that say "i run a strict program when it comes to reading fanfics." girl you aint running shit. this is FAN FICTION you're reading. F A N F I C T I O N. there is no denying that most fanfiction writes are beyond talented but just because you read one fanfic that exceeds your expectations doesn't give you the right to talk down on others that don't. people have their own personal writing style, their way of doing things and you talking shit on that isn't right.
at the end of the day, we are all humans, reading and writing is what we do and what we're meant to do. and for you to talk shit about a person WRITING is so insane. we are humans. not some robots that you can tell what to do so you can consume it.
i've seen so so many authors take down their fanfics and losing all motivation to write because of a hate comment. DONT LIKE DONT READâźď¸
and to every author reading this, this community values your work and your contribution. we love u and, please, never let anyone's negative words have an effect on you.
