A little background as to why the Markiplier fandom is panicking about The Edge of Sleep.
So YEARS ago. Mark was in a podcast called The Edge of Sleep, which was adapted into a TV series... Which was never released
Until
Mark made a movie adaptation of a video game, Iron Lung. He's put all his energy into this film, directing, producing, editing, even starring in it. the movie is done, and he's working to get it released in theaters.
We, the public don't know why, but we know that some doors have been locked on the release of Iron Lung, however some big wigs somewhere have promised that if his popularity alone can put Edge of Sleep in the TOP TEN a lot of doors will open for Iron Lung. He wasn't allowed to even say where it would premiere, nor was it advertised AT ALL
So now, Edge of Sleep has shadow dropped on Amazon Prime in the US. Three days BEFORE they even told Mark it would air. In order to get this man's work out in theaters this thing has to get to the top ten by word of mouth alone.
So. Watch Edge of Sleep! It's an apocalyptic horror. There are some mild gore warnings (blood, knife mutilation, brain dissection, self harm). Even if you can play it in the background and let it run just so it gets views thatd be helpful.
Stick it to the Hollywood Bigwigs! Show them YouTubers can have an audience! Open some doors for creative people trying to show their work to a bigger audience!
Embroidery commissions!!

I do pet portraits (any species/breed) or original characters (animals/anthros/dragons/humanoids!)
previous commissions i have drawn and embroidered:
and some more pieces i have done, these patterns were not initially drawn by me, but altered & stitched by me. I have learned a lot more stitches since my previous commissions and i'd like to show them off :)
have you ever wondered how snakes piss?
no, never
Thanks to snakes having the gene for two legs, it’s irrelevant. Though it doesn’t work. Why, you may ask? The gene doesn’t give them legs, but instead two dicks. Very easy pissing for snakes.
@snake-spotted
....WHAT.
Guys, they have a cloaca. Hemipenes are for fucking only.
The existence of snake "hemiclits" was unconfirmed until somewhat recently

A lot of people claim snakes don't like being pet and will only, at best, learn to tolerate it. Not sure where they got that idea. Scoria will actually ask for pets!
She will pet herself with her chin to ask me to pet her, and either relax or continue to help me pet her when I do. (This is after I had been petting her, she's asking for more pets.) Once she's had enough pets, she'll often pet me! ...or wander off to explore, haha.
I suppose in her world I'm doing something nice for her that feels good, and she wants to do the same for me. < 3
If I were to guess about this behavior, since mentioning it to other hognose caretakers and it seems to be unique to Scoria, it's probably learned behavior branching off of a natural behavior. Snakes can learn by watching and mimicking behavior. I see her sister learn from her, and she probably learned to pet herself and me by mirroring me petting her. I also think it is similar to a natural behavior- when hoggies greet each other they twitch and then rub their bodies so over the other. My guess is they are rubbing the oil on their bellies on the other snake, and I am rubbing the oil from my fingers on her so we both get each other's scent.
That's just an educated guess partially based on a study where snakes could identify themselves by belly oil scent, and watching snakes greet each other. But it would be interesting to hear if anyone else has experienced something similar.
So, if I'm correct... My baby girl has accepted me as an honorary snake family member. Aww <3 It's family love!

I don’t know if this story has made it from my reptile corners of the internet to the larger public but it’s kind of a classic “fuck around and find out” situation.
Jeffrey Leibowitz is this obnoxious dude who is known in exotic pet circles for free-handling his highly venomous pet snakes. He also has the unfortunate habit of mocking anyone who voices the reasonable perspective that doing this can be dangerous not only for the humans but also the snakes involved. There’s a reason reputable facilities don’t pet and cuddle venomous snakes.
Well old Jeff has left quite a trail of terrible hot takes and unhinged rants. He feels that only people who get bit by snakes are idiots who don’t know what they’re doing. He put out this eloquent stance on the subject…
Well guess who got bit by the most venomous* snake in the world, a fucking inland Taipan he was keeping as a pet.
After he is bit, Jeff’s opinion on anti venom is swiftly reconsidered…
This guy is currently hospitalized in organ failure as his doctors try to save his life with the needed anti venom that a reptile facility was kind enough to send for Jeff. Jeff’s entire collection of venomous snakes was euthanized due to his carelessness (I don’t know what’s happened to his pet serval).
Under normal circumstances I would not make fun of someone being so severely injured by an animal, but I am quite frankly furious with this man. His hubris got innocent animals killed. Absolutely nobody needs to have an inland taipan as a pet and the insistence on free-handling these dangerous animals as some kind of ego exercise is unbelievably reckless.
I hope Jeff Leibowitz survives. I hope he learns from this experience and uses his perspective to advocate for better welfare of venomous snakes going forward. At the very least, I hope he is too embarrassed to continue posting these bizarre stream of consciousness rants against anyone who criticizes him…
So I'm seeing tons of people wondering why all the snakes were euthanized.
These are animals with extremely specialized care needs that were receiving substandard care. Zoos and venom research facilities do not have open housing for highly venomous reptiles on the regular. There were 14 venomous snakes in his "care" and some were in plastic totes (can be appropriate for smaller non-venomous snakes like my own corns, for example, but NOT venomous) and none were in safe containment. So we have a lot of snakes in inappropriate housing and they all need to move now only everywhere is full. PLUS, any snake taken in would require extensive quarantine and health monitoring to make sure it didn't bring in a deadly pathogen like nidovirus or crypto.
It's the same pathogen reason for why the few native snakes couldn't be released.
It sucks the snakes were euthanized, but there was significant risk of escape or further bites due to the poor husbandry and nowhere with the right caging had room. You couldn't leave the baby inland taipan in a plastic bin for months and without training or anymore local antivenin it wouldn't be safe to even try to fill the water bowl.
His cocksure assholeness is the reason these snakes are dead.
Excellent addition. Venomous snakes do not belong in private homes and this is just one of many many reasons why. Nobody is to blame for their deaths but the careless piece of human garbage who brought them into an apartment to feed his ego.

Hi! I have a question about feeding my 3yr old corn snake. Hes 340g and ive been trying feeding him every 14 days. But I cant seem to find mice that are big enough and he acts hungry all the time lately. Are rats ok once in a while or should I just give him more than one mouse all the time? Thanks!
Hey, friend!
Rats are okay and strongly encouraged. Corn snakes often do act hungry when they don't actually need more food, and they can beg themselves into obesity so be mindful of that. If his body condition is good or if he's a little lean, then he might be actually hungry.
A snake that size and age should be eating about 35-ish grams of food every 10-ish days, which is a large (but not jumbo) adult mouse or a large pup/small weaned rat. You can also offer two mice that add up to 35 grams, an extra-small chicken chick, or a small quail. Once or twice a year you can also offer ONE quail egg (they're very rich; just one is enough.)
Variety is the spice of life, so switch it up as often as you are comfortable doing!
Really, corn snakes probably shouldn't be eating only one species of prey their entire lives. We do this in captivity for our own convenience but, like, it's definitely not natural. We don't do this with any other animal we keep. Dogs and cats have different flavors of canned food and multiple types of meat and veggies/grains in their prepared dry foods. Insectivorous lizards (should) get different types of bugs on rotation. Even fish get more species variety in their food than snakes!
I should mention that corn snakes in captivity have become a little bit like "chicken nugget kids" where they are so used to eating one type of food that they might be hesitant to try new things at first, especially when it comes to rats. I suspect rats are less yummy-smelling than mice to the snake palate. You may need to poke a little hole with a pin in the head of a thawed rat to expose some brain. Brains are mostly fat and fat = flavor, so that's usually enough to convince a neophobic snake that what's been placed in front of them is, in fact, delicious food and not a weird warm fuzzy rock or a dangerous but strangely unmoving predator.
I hope that makes sourcing food a little easier going forward, and that your buddy is happy and well-nourished!
i love the serpent snails so much theyre so cutes
