I sewed in some little areas of colour in the corners so that I could use them like guide lines for other parts, but I ended up making it look like my d20 had moss growing on it.

I feel like I need to share this because idk if Europeans are familiar with the presence of Aldi in the US, but at least especially in my area theyāve been growing a lot recently. Like Aldi bought out some local failing grocery chains where I live (Louisiana) and have opened Aldis in all these somewhat rural communities and small towns, which for the record Iām fine with
But as a result of this they are advertising a lot more in my area and also in many cases, the people in these areas have never been confronted with Aldi or any European grocery store. So the ads that Aldi is pushing out to its new US customer base feature a cowboy shopping at Aldi who is explaining to new Aldi customers how Aldi works. Like this cowboy is explaining you gotta put a quarter in the shopping cart and why there are very little name brands. A cowboy is how they want to reach their American customer base. I went on my annual offline solitary retreat last week! I learned many things, such as:
Snakes can climb pine trees AND they can also leap out of the trees into the nearby pond OR at an unsuspecting solitary traveler. (These are not dangerous snakes as far as I know, but it was startling every time.)
I do not, as it turns out, enjoy stovetop percolator coffee. However, the percolator carafe can be used in a pinch to make cold brew, which I enjoy very much. The second half of the week was noticeably more caffeinated.
Male carpenter bees have no stinger but love to fight with each other and also their reflections in the window. It was like a bee WWE match all day every day. So much fighting and nothing was ever resolved or accomplished as far as I could tell.
At one point the crows decided to hold what appeared to be a quarterly shareholders meeting or something. At least 30 crows arrived to the meadow in the space of about 15 minutes and proceeded to make an enormous racket which only stopped when I started to record a video. I guess this murder did not want any witnesses. š

extremely funny when students get really into some harmless "vintage" activity to the point of absurdity. right now it's hacky sack, which is not something i ever thought i would see my students playing en masse. and yet here they are organizing competitive hacky sack teams. taking over any space they can to kick a hacky sack around. i had to chase a group to morning assembly today because they were busy playing hacky sack. just saw one of my students sending an email that said "stop adding randos to our team they're the worst sackers." 2026 year of the hacky sack ig
