little notes for each character!
Alastor + his shadow: Alastor is the most startling human of the sinners. If you look at his shadow, you can also tell that hes visibly aged since arriving in Hell...? A major aspect of my redesigns are PERIOD ACCURATE CLOTHING. His outfit is based on a summer suit from the 20s or 30s. I think he'd like wearing white so you can see the blood on him...
Charlie: A very whimsical butch. I wanted her to be cherubic! Her suit is shaped similarly to Lucifer's to show a connection.
Vaggi: Her name in this AU is Joan! As in Joan of Arc. As you can see later, Exorcist armor is also based on Joan of Arc's armor. Joan also goes through a name-change. Her original name, as given to her by Adam, was Aggie. She was named after his favorite daughter. The wings she gains in Hell are NOT her original angel wings. They are moth wings. Joan has chronic pain and mobility issues from her wings being torn out. Falling is often a disabling event for fallen angels. Her moth wings connect to her skin, NOT her spine. Her body changed after falling to be more moth-like. Her shoes are meant to look like moth feet, and they're also a reference to JTHM. She's based around 80s tradgoth and punk fashion. The stars are a motif associated with "betrayers".
Husk: He used to have 2 ears and 2 eyes. It used to be common for Overlords to mutilate their favorite souls to show that they're owned.
Nifty: Fashion based more around 1950s japanese fashion. Also, she's a mantis :)
Angel: His outfit here is based on his loungewear in S2. Missing Mandible and V shaped scar over his eye from Valentino. Vox and Velvette say they're above such brutal practices.
Sir Pentious: I dunno, I just kinda streamlined stuff and made his suit more period accurate... Also, he gets a snout because its CUTE.
Vox: I wanted him to be massive for story reasons. Big, imposing... Plus, he's a hydra, cos ain't that just how the media is? Especially with how he is in S2... Unfortunately, when Val rips his head off, 2 more do not sprout.
Velvette: Pretty close to canon, I'd say. Not much to say. Gave her a cute, business casual fit and pigtails, but she'd be changing a lot just like the show.
Valentino: Gave him a snout because its cute. Besides that, not much to say. He's also change a lot, just like in canon. This is just his directing outfit.
Cherri: Added blue because that's the color of fire burning its HOTTEST! Also I just like chunky limbs :)
Rosie: More accurate 1910s garb with some cannibalistic motifs. Red teeth are the Hell-wide mark of a cannibal.
Lucifer: TINY GOAT MAN. His colors are meant to appear worn out and vintage, and his horns were once a halo. They now sport kintsugi cracks. He still has 6 wings, but each set have a differing level of damage... He can't retract the bottom set at all because it would hurt far too much.
Lilith: Lilith is traditionally depicted with red hair, and I gave her yellow lilies because, uh... Well, I read somewhere that they can symbolize impurity once, I swear. There's no real basis for the yellow lilies besides me misremembering some biblical passage, but I kept it because I like the pop of yellow on her red dress. She was turned into a puppet in Hell because she refused to be one in life.
Adam: Half of my choices for this design are me making his design cater to my taste in men.
Lute: I just wanted more bald women.
Carmilla: Swan motif. She's the most overhauled, honestly...
Zestial: What if... Spidertaur?
The Speaker: I just made things simpler.
Sera: Her halo looks like a crown because she's the head seraphim. Tear marks because well... I mean, this seems a little obvious...
Emily: I FORGOT HER HALO. You can kinda see where I started it and forgot to finish! Below is her halo! You can see I changed it since this ref sheet! Anyways, Her wings leave her eyes during You Didn't Know :)
St. Peter: Detwinkified him. Made him closer to other depictions of St. Peter.
Abel: Just made him look like Adam and Eve's son... Where is Eve, anyways...?
Molly: Made her human because I dont want to connect her to her family's crimes despite her clear innocence
Katie: Blue because she's a frigid bitch.
Tom: More green. Hair is perpetually smoking.
Mimzy: Has a filmreel motif. Lots of red. More color to her. Also, just made her appeal to my taste in women lulz
Baxter: I'm honestly not really satisfied with his goggles, but eh... Hindsight.
Travis: Heart nose for cute? Also, more seperation between his clothes and limbs.
Arackniss: (to the tune of Gay Or European) Is he a black widow or an orbweaver?
Fat Nuggets: Not much to change, Fat Nugs is perfect.
Razzle and Dazzle: Made them more visually distinct from one another. They're plushies that Lucifer brought to life! Their faces are rubber :)
Egg Bois: Just like Fat Nugs, they are perfect. Just played with shapes and hats.
Keekee: Adjusted her silhouette to better match the Hotel key.
Alastor's summons: They're dogs now. It's an eternal punishment. Alastor doesn't summon them unless he really needs them.
Queef and Vark: I just wanted them here. Made Vark quadrupedal because his bipedal gait disturbs me and makes me think of a Neopet. Justice for Queef and Vark.
