Ah, hes hit the bloodymary tower
THE SECOND BLOODYMARY TOWER HAS BEEN HIT
NOOOO THE PENTAGON
ARYGHH AND ITS THE PHM TWITTER WITH THE STEEL CHAIR?????
Ryan Gosling posts a one minute video of himself sipping a Bloody Mary. He pauses mid-sip, looks at the camera and say “it’s not bad, but I’m not sure why everyone keeps recommending it to me.”
Then he looks off camera and says “Do you like yours, Mark?” And the camera pans over to Markiplier himself, covered in a thick red liquid, with a drained glass stained with red juice sitting in front of him.
He shrugs and nonchalantly replies, “it’s alright. I’ve had worse.”
seeing the stuff that’s been happening quick reminder if you’re transphobic, homophobic, racist, ableist, a pedofile, sexist, etc get the fuck out of my blog
Claim your ticket guys:D
Finished Project Hail Mary earlier today and how come nobody told me this was a platonic Orpheus and Eurydice type situation between two alien species? There is no greater act of love than the act of turning around can anyone hear me hello can anyone hear me Rocky are you there it’s me Ryland I am actively bashing the side of your ship with a giant fuck ass wrench
Spelling mistakes? I guarantee neither of us saw those at 3:00 AM Monday Morning.
Please, for the love of god y’all, if you see a reblog with a “see more” link on it….know that it’s probably a scam and do NOT click on it.
I just saw one of them pop up on this post. I reported it and blocked the tumblr. So be careful guys.
This is the type of thing I’ve been talking about:
I’ve seen at least three of these on this post. Please do not click the link. I don’t know what it does, but considering their profile is full of reblogs with links saying things like “click here for funny” or “click here to continue” it can’t be good.
i would die for this thing
he's called Rise (like earth rise, the best fucking space picture ever) and he's the ZGI (zero gravity indicator) for this launch
which basically means they have a plushie free floating in the shuttle and when it starts floating around they know they're in zero gravity :3

I’ve been getting a lot of asks wondering how I go about picking my colors for character designs, pages, backgrounds, etc, pretty much anything about color in general, and I figured in some attempt to try to answer them all at once, here’s my attempt at a color-centric art tutorial! I’m far from an expert on the subject, and I haven’t received any formal training on the matter, so this is entirely constructed of ideas I’ve gleaned from a bunch of snippets of different people’s advice over the years, studying other people’s art, and experimenting on my own to create something that works for me. Nonetheless, I feel passionate about the subject, and I hope this is able to help make color “click!” like a key in a hole for anyone who reads it. I had to discover my key-click moment on my own through trial and error, but i don’t believe in gatekeeping advice, so hopefully I can help you skip the trouble I went through lmfao.
None of this is meant to be like… a shaming or judgmental authoritative truth of “this is how it must always be done! anything outside of my vision is wrong and morally bad! Harrumph!!!” Especially since this is random shit I’ve figured out on my own with no formal training. It’s more just “if you are looking for something to ease your strain, perhaps this might help you give you what you need to have an easier time!” But most of the time I don’t even color my illustrations the way I do in this tutorial. Usually I try to balance & combine these principles with the “standard colors” that a scene is “supposed to be,” like if the ground is a concrete gray and the trees are green, I’ll keep them looking gray and green (depending on the lighting), but with the knowledge of “I want this to be a sad scene, so I’ll make the grays and greens lean heavily closer to blue, so the audience knows that it’s time to be sad.” Stuff like that. They’re cheat codes for strategic intent, not strict rules.
Now hopefully when it comes to covering more specific things, like how I design my characters, you guys now know the baseline foundation I’m running off of so I don’t have to explain all of this first before I get into the nitty-gritty hairs of “why I made this character purple and green vs why this character is blue and yellow” lmao.
Color is a hard subject to explain! Most of the color theory explanations I’ve heard primarily cover stuff like the science of reflecting light, then name drops all the famous kinds of color palettes, tells me what a cool vs warm color is, explains nothing else, and dips. Which, personally, has literally never been helpful for me when it comes to understanding why the fuck my painting should include the color blue in the shadows. Heaven forbid applying any of that shit to character design. Ough. No I had to figure that out on my own lmfao. So therefore this tutorial is more skewed towards that kind of perspective, someone who doesn’t really benefit (at least at this skill level) from the scientific cerebral shit. I want to know the why behind your creative choices!!! Tell me why the curtains must be blue!! That’s what’s important to me on a practical level. Dont get me wrong, I’m sure one day I’ll learn the purpose behind the scientific stuff, I’m sure there’s a reason behind it, but you’ve gotta figure out how to take the first steps at all to begin with before I can get to the master level stuff of like………scientifically understanding how bounce light works. And if we don’t understand why the curtains are blue, I don’t think we’re gonna get why the bounce light should be blue, too. So I wanted to explain it!!! I wanted to cover it!! Because I’ve never seen it explained before!!! And it’s important to know the why!!!
And uhm. Hopefully I managed to do an alright job at that lol. I hope you guys enjoy! <3
aren't you tired of me yet
If youre an artist strugglung with rendering you otta get your hands in the multiply/overlay method
I was having a conversation with my partner yesterday and realized he didnt know how i did my dramatic light pieces nor how i did them so fast, and its all because of the power if multiply. If used correctly its a life saviour it does your job for you its wonderful
rendering tutorial with Doodles! We're gonna be drawing Donnie today
first, get your subject and background, and locate a lightsource. This is gonna be dark/dramatic light, so i'm keeping a dark background for contrast and our light source will be this purple orb
Step1: multiply layer over the drawing in a desaturated purple/pink. then, you errase away the parts that are hit by the light. For this you do need to have some control of volumes. This layers purpose is to block main areas of light and shadow
as a bonus, i like to add a rim of a lighter and more saturated pink around the edges of the shadows. This works best when youre working with skin, due to its slight translucency, but i think it adds a good and nice glow
Step 2: with a clipping mask, add a second layer of shadow in multiply. Better to choose a color that matches the background; that way you can better unify the pallette. First step works with soft shades, but this second layer needs to be cell shading. Bright/intense lights create bright and intense shadows
Step 3: At this point, we already have a good foundation, but we can push it further. With another clipping mask and another multiply, same color as the last, add soft shadows in the areas furthest from the light. It'll help with the glow and distancing
Step 4: we arent quite done darkening this up. With a last layer of multiply, you can set the mood by choosing a color to tint over the piece. This depends on the mood youre going for
its subtle, but it adds to the way the piece will be read. I'm going for a purply tone, its warmer and gives the feeling Donnie's slightly enamoured by this orb of light. Here you have the oportunity do some slight errasing of light too but it has to be very subtle, for the faintest glow and highlighting of specific areas
Step 5: we begin with overlay! Usually i use yellows for this, as my light sources tend to be yellow, but because our light source is purple I'm using a light, saturated purple tone in overlay, then lowering the opacity. We want to build light slowly; these first layers are for creating the glow. I did two; one for more general glow in faint purple and another for more specific areas in a yellow (cuz i couldnt help myself to add yellow
Step 6: Hard lights. Still in overlay, i color picked the color of the orb and painted some hard lights on the afected areas. Then i softened some and lowered the opacity; we dont wanna rush this, we needa slowly build things up
Step 7: highlights. In the edges of surfaces I like adding that lil extra bit of light to push it all further a lil more. This is done with same color as before, but 50% opacity
Step 8: if you wanna get funky with it, add an extra overlay in a different color to add a ring behind the character for a secondary lightsource and some extra pizzaz
Step 9: eye reflections! I dont like using pure white, but rather a color close to white. this is an advice for everything in general: avoid pure white. You can lighten a color thats not white, but you cant lighten true white. Its then a pain for when you wanna lighten things up, trust me. If you wanna get fancy, you can also add a soft rim around the actual glow of the eye to push the colors an extra step forward. Because of the colors i been chosing, i went for purple and blue
And thats it!! After that you can add a few extra touches but thats pretty much it
The entire thesis of the technique is to slowly build up drama layer by layer; they all have a purpose. Usually I only do two multiply (general shadows and darker shadows) and three overlay (general light, hair highlight and detail highlight) but for more dramatic pieces i work more slowly and build with more layers to achieve more drama. In the end, this still look around 16 layers (counting the actual drawing, background and color reference) and it really is a very quick process. All of these steps may seem like a chore, but its much faster than having to pick colors individually for each part. It also allows you to be slightly more messy when rendering and it unifies the color palette as theyre all shaded with the same colors. Also good thing is that its extremely flexible and can be used for any type of light direction/lightsource and any color
Here's the final piece! It started out as such a simple drawing but now it looks pretty dope, dont it? :]
So I haven't posted anything of my own...
My bad, take these as compensation.
I recently was able to get a drawing tablet, and promptly went nuts teaching myself how to make digital art. So far so good I guess
This is the speedpaint for an oc of mine for Project 626 (which you can find on tiktok, along with my own page)
But yea, I'll try to post more of my own stuff and be more active over here.
in 2015 we didn’t have AI psychosis so people had to make do by believing a dress was white and gold
Because it was
Is the gold in the room with us right now?
yes. the dress is gold.
...
the dress has always been gold
r u saying this doesn't look white and gold to u???
...
what.
it's a white and gold dress in cool blue dim lighting w/ bright warm light behind it, making an optical illusion. we're not fucking doing this again
oh god fucking damn it
I know tumblr likes to exclusively make it about bloody hospitals but this is what Color Theory is about
HOW DID THIS DISCOURSE COME BACK IN THE YEAR OF OUR LORD 2026!???
when I tell you people were shouting up and down my dorm's hallways about this when it first happened
(the dress was by Roman Originals and it was in fact blue and black. but they made a one-off white and gold one for charity later)
I always thought it was blue and gold tbh...
You know, one of the most shameful consequences of scifi/game authors not knowing shit is cyberpsychosis, or Essence, or whatever in-universe asspull for a mechanical limiter on how much cyberware you can cram into a character sheet.
There is an easy excuse in real life! You may not be able to get both a pacemaker and a DBS device because they're both pieces of sensitive equipment that could theoretically interfere with each other, and nobody engineered them not to. Trivially you can extrapolate this to all cybernetics. If your various augs weren't Specifically designed not to mess with each other (and of course the various megacorps might take things a step further, making their shit actively hostile to mix-and-matching), you might have problems; and obviously, the more pieces of hardware you've patchworked yourself with, the worse things get. You'd have to be one real crazy motherfucker to tell a back-alley doctor to load you up with whatever they've got.
It's more grounded and more realistic and less shitty and it actively enhances the atmosphere of cyberpunk in a way that "losing your humanity" does not. we are missing out on much because none of these writers know anything about how medtech works
I've got a few thoughts about cyberpunk kicking around in my head for a while, it always struck me that the obvious fix for "cyberpsychosis" was less that you've carved away some irreplaceably human part of yourself , and more that your body has been hijacked by your own tech.
Think about it: you've got a threat analysis module loaded into your optics and a lighting-reflexes aug patched into your arm muscles all the way down to your trigger finger. Both have programming that's been told to optimize its function because that's what you want out of military grade hardware. How long do you think it's going to take for your eye to start talking to your trigger finger and for them to come to the conclusion that the most "optimized" course of action is to stop consulting the sluggishly squishy meat brain they're patched into and start identifying/eliminating threats before they begin?
The danger of plugging too many unregulated mods into your body shouldn't be that you're less human for it, it's that your slowly building a killbot in your own body that's more and more likely to start treating YOU as the disposable peripheral.
You can even doing the same thing with non-combat based upgrades. An influencer who gives themselves over to routine optimization and engagement boosting personality augments could end up watching from behind their own eyes as their social-media persona puppets them through every AI scripted interaction
did i tell u guys i got into an argument on twitter bc i said foxes are dogs and someone tried to bring up their actual fuckin. classification or whatever and i just said “foxes are dogs cause they are fluffye” and they kept arguing with me. the entire time i was like “you will not survive the immigration to tumblr you are lucky we are not there right now”
This is especially funny because they aren’t even right. Foxes *ARE* dogs.
No they aren’t.
yes they are. because they are fluffye.
OK yes they are.
Different family, but same order as @pictures-of-dogs
No, they are the same family. They are the same kingdom, phylum, order and family. They separate at the genus.
They’re a dog.
yeah they’re fluffye
theyre literally not dogs theyre not even fluffy. can we get science tumblr over hear or what!?
checkmate athiests
fluffye
okay but they literally are dogs, for those who are confused
If foxes are dogs, then so are wolves, coyotes, dingoes, jackals, and several other extant and extinct species.
Behold! A dog.
of course it’s a dog you buffoon. it’s fluffye.
Why on earth would someone think “BUT IF THEY’RE DOGS SO AR -”
Like yes of course wolves are dogs, where have you been. Jackals are excellent doggies! So are coyotes. Why is this confusing.
I love that this is literally two completely different arguments running simultaneously.
That guy up there who said they’re not even fluffy was thinking of sharks
sharks are also dogs. ravenous water dogs, but still dogs
Sharks can NOT be dogs they are SMOOTH

Isolated for most of his early life, with only his creator and the other experiments as company, Leonardo spent nearly all of his free time with the his non-mutated little brothers, talking to them, naming them, tending to their every need. Their enclosure became his home, one he didn't quite fit in, but offered a solace from the rest of his life. He stood by them, prepared for the moment they joined him in mutation, ready to take on his role as their guidance, their leader.
Their big brother.
