So let me start off by saying that the plot bunnies have consumed me; i shan't allow my hubris to devour me just yet, though my delusions of grandeur from another thing might haha i may be a delusional humble soup
I will also admit that i have spent the better part of about a good couple of years so very much not indulging in this aspect so my writing may be quite rusty (so is my art, which is only slightly not because i did do art on and off)
That being said, i have two... well they're in the same draft as several other notes of mine which is probably a bad idea and i should separate them into their own document/folder/page; anyway, two concepts to start with that still follow along the same line/idea
1. Robert Robertson the Fourth (creative idea title for now)
In which Robbie still killed Robert's parents for the suit and legacy, and then stole his own nephew to pass him off as his son and heir
2. In which Robbie is NOT the hero OR the father
In which Robbie kills his own sister after Mecha Man Prime's death to prevent her from inheriting the legacy HIS father left behind and then, after the act, steals her child as his own. (the initial bunny which multiplied)
What do you think? There's a bit more in my notes but this is hm more or less a tentative summary of the two ideas inspired by your post
I do swing wildly between not wanting to be perceived and being not indifferent (in which i will still mentally scream of course) if i do post it on my page and tag you or stay on anon and feed it into your ask box so i guess we'll just have to wait and see??? I admit to not having posted much of anything in my page though, since I've been trying to finish at least a new art i hopefully finish amongst all my wips, and not having reblogged any of the +4,000 posts I've been liking since i threw myself back on this site, the nostalgia was a delightful trap that finally dragged me back after spending a few years away haha
Happy to be of service! on the other hand, i shall endeavor to have something more coherent soon and no worries, i am also excited, i only hope to craft something good, I'm not a perfect writer after all, but i will try my best
Plot bunnies do be the most vicious of creatures known in existence, absolutely blood thirsty little beasties. Can strip an author down to the bones in seconds (I know, I have fallen to such a fate many times😂)
And I love both ideas! They both have such fun angst potentials 😄
I dig the idea of it being Robbie's sister/Robert's mom actually being the heir to Mecha Man rather than Robbie since we get absolutely nothing about her in the game and I'm immediately obsessed with all the places that concept could go 👀
There's some really interesting things that could be dug out of both Bobby & Robbie's characters in terms of that situation. Bobby, who created/debuted Mecha Man in the 70s being ahead of his time and knowing that his daughter didn't just have what it took to take up the mantle after him, but was better suited to hero work than her brother.
Like, shit, women in the US couldn't legally have credit cards in their own names until 1974, and Gradpa Bobby was out there prepping for his baby girl to inherit millions and be his successor in the mech-piloting, ass-kicking business, gender be damned.
And with Robbie, was it just the fact that the legacy he wanted so much for himself was going to anyone else that was the sole problem, or was the fact that it was going to his sister an issue? Was it sibling rivalry/hunger for power/greed for the fame and fortune of Mecha Man alone, or was some good ol' fashion sexism mixed in with it?
It also opens up some interesting options in terms of Robert's (actual) dad and what (if any) role he had in the whole situation. Was Shroud actually Robert's dad and helped Robert kill his wife/Robert's mother for the promise of Robbie giving him the pulse/building him his own mech/something along those lines? Was Robert's dad some unknown figure that was uninvolved with anything and unaware of what happened, maybe bailed when Robert's mom found out she was pregnant and years later was looking up the son he never met to try and make amends? Or did Robbie kill him too? Or was there never really anyone, and Robert's mom just decided to have a kid and took steps to do that while being uninterested in having a husband/partner (aroace queen, very rad, especially on this International Asexuality day 🤍💜🖤)
Sorry, I'm rambling, I just love those ideas a lot and had a lot of Thoughts ™ about the Robbie killing his sister one in particular haha
I am absolutely down for whatever else you want to share for both concepts! 😄
Also do not worry or even try to be a "perfect writer" there's no such thing! As long as you're enjoying yourself and feel fufilled by your writing, then you're doing great! 😄❤
