here's where to find it on windows 10
Ugh, it was in mine. It's off now.
IT GETS WORSE
I had to turn this off, but it's something that allows Windows and anyone using your device to generate text/images.
LOBOTOMIZE YOUR MACHINES
AI is a freacking plague, I share this for any windows user.
Reblog this photo of a käpylehmä to have a käpylehmä in your blog
It's a trick! If you reblog you get TWO käpylehmäs in your blog!
They're traditional Finnish toys, little cows made out of spruce cones, on their way to see the world from one tumblr blog to another
@elodieunderglass not horrible, but things with legs?
I’ll send them on their lovely journey, thank you!
This is not a particularly original thought (I've probably made this exact post before myself) but one of the bleaker vast cultural gulfs out there is and likely shall remain the one between 'material children can understand and engage with' and 'material guardians and gatekeepers are comfortable thinking about their children engaging with'.
The beautiful but brief period where video stores just threw every animated movie in the same section and vast numbers of parents just assumed all cartoons were for kids was a little golden age in this regard. We need to come up with a new way to trick middle class helicopter parents into letting their 7-year-olds watch Watership Down again.
studying history is like. here's to another beautiful day of not being pregnant and of having no obligation to ever be. thank you women who fight for abortion and contraception and independance from men for another beautiful day of not being pregnant and of having no obligation to ever be
I want you guys to all start making a bigger stink about Tumblr's Age Verification Horseshit.
Like they tried to change Reblogs and people rightfully got up in arms, this is a LOT worse. In order to have access to any sort of thing dubbed mature, and We haveALL seen what they think is mature, Everything from a black and white photo of a black woman's arm, to posts about IUD recalls, to a nude painted by a 17th century artist, to anything involving the word Trans; you have to send your personal information to a third party site that WILL get hacked, and you will be doxxed. And they can say "Oh shit, well it wasn't us who sent your name address and gender identity to Moldovan teenagers, here's a couple extra minutes in the ball pit.
That's bad enough!!!!!!!! But the entire idea of needing permission from state authorities to access anything labeled mature by our friendly AI overlords is some fucking Boll shit. Die Gedenken Sind Frie baby. This is all a reaction to people getting uppity about their lowly lowly rights and is being propped up by the same bad actors tht have made life unlivable. Fuck that shit.
"Well it's only being rolled out in Brazil and UK" Yeah, to start. "Well they're being forced to do this by laws." YOu know it's always really funny when these tech giants (Or whatever you call owning tumblr dot com) get really antsy about laws considering they pick and choose which ones they abide by.
This is a breaking point and it's going to be very interesting to see how we proceed from here.
i get this now and it won't let me click through to any 'mature' blogs :(
Sorry, my what? My pronouns? Oh, yeah I'm between genders at the moment. No, it's cool, I quit my last gender a little while ago because it really wasn't working out. I don't know if I even have a dream gender anymore.
Oh yeah, it did come with benefits, but they weren't really worth it. The culture was really toxic. To be honest I think I'd prefer a part-time gender so I can just be self-described in my spare time.
I mean, in a perfect world we wouldn't need gender, you know? We could just voluntarily be perceived as much as we're able, as much as makes us feel fulfilled. Having a full-time gender shouldn't be a prerequisite for food, shelter, and healthcare.
my suffering isn’t gonna turn me cruel. It has turned me into a lot of things. Paranoid, scared, distant, perpetually burned out, anxious, chronically depressed, touch-averse, and more. but it has never made me cruel. I have hurt people and I have made mistakes. I have said yes when I should have said no. I have stayed when I should have gone. I have accepted when I should have rejected. I have waited when I should have run. But this has not turned me cruel. I cannot be made into a vessel for hatred. I cannot be turned into a weapon. I know who I am. I know how I have suffered. I know what I have done. I know that I am deeply flawed, and always will be. I do not chase perfection. I do not chase praise. I’m chasing authenticity. I’m chasing rest. I’m chasing safety. I’m chasing the version of me that isn’t so scared. And I’m gonna find them without turning cruel. I will continue to believe that there are more friends than there are enemies.

sometimes people will make you feel stupid for being kind. this makes it hard to stay kind. it is important that you do anyway. if you have become unkind, it is important to remember that you can become kind again. it's a skill, not an inherent trait.
Is anyone else constantly bothered by the fact that all of a child's medical care is required to go through their parents? That they must rely on these people to decide when they do or don't need medical care?
No matter how injured. If a parent doesn't deem it necessary to see a doctor, it doesn't happen. Teachers can suggest a doctor visit, but unless it's a very acute injury (and even then), it's ultimately up to the parents.
You can be 13. Twisted, maybe broken ankle. You teacher lets you sit out in PE. She's concerned, and tells you to rest when you go home, and see a doctor. You get home, ur parents fill a bath and add some Epsom salts, and then laugh at you for using it moms old colorguard stick as a cane. Take some ibuprofen they say. It's just a little sprain, ur a kid.
You go to school the next day, go to ur office assistant time. Office calls ur mom to come get you, because you're clearly in too much pain for school. Your mom laughs when she gets you, says you just were so determined not to miss school. Scolds you for making the office ladies worry.
You never see a doctor for the injury.
Your parents come into the exam room at every visit. This does not stop with age, except for gynecologist. But your parents are on the medical release forms. They fill them out for you, with you. You do not get to take them off.
You never get to tell s doctor about the ankle. Even though it never quote healed right, and it hurts every day.
Then your 18. In college. Still on your parents insurance, and have no car. The on campus clinic only does std testing. You fall down some stairs. Same injury. You call your parents, crying from the pain. You are using a mop as a cane. They console you and say to have a bath, take some meds, and let them know how it feels in a few days. You end up borrowing your roommates rolling chair to get around for the weekend.
By Monday, you can walk again. You walk miles to class every day. You ask to see a doctor, but your parents won't drive the hour to come take you, and you don't have the insurance card. You are still at their mercy for medical care. The ankle tries to heal again. This time worse than before. The tendons click with every step.
Now you're in your twenties. Finally have your own healthcare. You see a doctor. You get to mention the ankle! They say it's been too long to really even know what was damaged. That you have arthritis now. It healed wrong but it can no longer be fixed.
I'm 32 now. My ankle tells me the weather. I wear boots to keep it stable. What could have been a funny story about a fall and a cast has become a lifetime injury. Because children do not have access to medical care without a parents approval.
been dealing with something almost identical to this this year (2026)!! it was a knee injury. we're now in our late thirties and have only as of a few months ago properly relearned how to walk, because we were getting by "well enough" walking incorrectly for like three decades and it's only after moving to somewhere we see friends IRL regularly and go hiking often enough that our shitass gait became an issue we needed to solve.
we never treated the problem seriously because our parents acted like the ones in this post. our injury was an annoyance, an "acting-out", something to just walk off (and get chastised, but not helpfully corrected, for Walking Weirdly).
looking back on it as an adult now about the same age our parents were when they chose to respond to their child getting injured and visibly changing how it walked with "derision/annoyance" and no treatment, we gotta admit...
... still have no idea how the fuck you become the kind of person who, with full responsibility for the life of another being, treats said being that way! being "tired" of a kid needing care happens, sure, but to move from that to actively choosing neglect or mistreatment is just so beyond comprehension.
anyway, op. answering the opening question with an emphatic "yes." our catastrophically underdeveloped normal-ass walking muscles are also bothered by that fact.
Yup! I got mocked for my weird gait constantly, told I was "shaking my ass", "walking like a slut" or whatever. I was LIMPING.
I also have really bad exercise induced asthma that went untreated until I had a like. Sobbing breakdown about it at 18. I was told I was lazy, often left on the side of the road when walking home from the bus. (Teenager. Left in 100 degree Alabama heat on a very steep hill on a small road) (Usually up to my neighbors to help me home.) Told to "shut up" when coughing. I had a barking seal smokers cough, which was an annoyance.
And yeah. I now walk weird. I have joint pain up my legs from the weight shifts. My foot points out a lil bit, and when I'm really tired I kick my left heel with the right when walking.
What pisses me off was like, a few months after the second ankle injury, my dad did the SAME THING. he rolled his ankle on a curb. He went to the doctor that day. Of course.
Not as extreme but I remember being diagnosed with "walking" pneumonia in middle school, I think 5th grade.
I complained about feeling sick for probably about two weeks and was punished for "attention seeking behavior" and "trying to get out of school". It wasn't until I started stumbling around and hallucinating at school that my teacher contacted my parents.
When they finally took me to the doctor my mother told them I'd showed no symptoms. Hence the walking pneumonia diagnosis instead of just pneumonia.
It's so fucked up that children's injuries or illnesses can be so easily dismissed because the parents just don't want to acknowledge it.
hey. take my hand. let's watch the studio bones 2003 anime masterpiece Wolf's Rain together. ok?
Maybe this time we will find paradise...
