Whenever he's about to do something he knows is very dangerous like genuinely might die from, but he has the moral obligation to do so, he texts May, MJ Ned and Tony "I love you" right before he does, just so they know in case it is his last Fight.
Aunt May is dying. Peter is holding her in his arms as she bleeds out, too injured to make it for long enough to get any help. Her killer is roaming free somewhere out there, not all that far away, but Peter's entire world narrows down to this one moment, this one person. Someone who raised him when she had no obligation to do so, someone who supported him in every aspect of his life.
She says those words. About power and the responsibility that comes with it. And Peter already wasn't faring well with the situation, but those words--
He's not Spider-Man anymore. He's not an 18 year old superhero, honorary Avenger, fighting for the sake of the universe. He's back to being a 14 year old kid, kneeling on the pavement with his Uncle in his arms.
He can't get the image out of his head. He looks at May and sees Ben. It's the gunshot, the criminal whom Peter allowed to escape, all over again.
thinking about peter copying tony’s mannerisms the more time he spends with him. I think we sometimes forget that tony was peter’s IDOL for YEARS before he recruited him during CW. Like imagine your favorite celebrity just sitting in your living room when you come home from school one day.
peter adores tony, but tony builds this emotional wall between them from the get-go, mostly because he’s afraid he’s going to be a bad influence. At the beginning of the mentorship he keeps peter at an arms length, because he knows everything he touches turns to ruin.
I certainly think that, in the earliest stages of their relationship, before peter started to see the more human side of him, he would copy his mannerisms, even simple little things like the way he stands with his hands in his pockets or the way he nods at the receptionist when he walks into one of his fancy business buildings. He thought that maybe, if he was more like tony, tony would like him more.
SCENARIOS:
when they’re in the lab, peter copies little things about tony, the way he sits, the way he stands with his arms crossed, the way he moves seamlessly around the room swiping at holograms and picking up tools in a controlled, chaotic dance. At this point, peter doesn’t know where everything is in the lab yet, but he feels insecure asking, so he just kind of fumbles around until tony helps him.
peter yells at DUM-E to pass him things the way tony does, except DUM-E doesn’t listen to him.
peter starts picking up some of the sayings that tony has, even the less… school appropriate ones.
peter gets kidnapped while he’s out on patrol. it’s the first time this has happened, and quite frankly he’s terrified. when tony is scared he doesn’t show it. so, he tries to act all tough and smart like tony. it only ends up making the kidnappers more angry with him, and they hurt him more.
after this, tony has a heart to heart with peter about all this, sort of an expansion on the classic “I just wanted to be like you / I wanted you to be better” moment from Homecoming, where he explains to him that he likes him just the way he is, and the reason he’s been so distant is because he doesn’t want to rub off on him.
peter explains that the reason he’s doing all that in the first place is he wants tony to be proud of him, and think he’s worth his time.
from there, they start to open up to each other.

- peter was very obsessed with wrestling as a little kid, which is one (1) thing that clued may and ben in. they had a kid dead-set on being just like his favourite most masculine muscle-builder guy on tv. he was sure of himself since day one. may and ben noticed. ( @blueretriever )
- may and ben both made an effort to respect his changing identity. they let him get his hair cut short. he got to wear whatever clothes he wanted, who cares? he wants to play with cars and trucks and learn science? absolutely. he’d rather have the iron man bedsheets? sure, add them to the cart. - ben took him out for “dude days” without may (while she was working weekends). they’d usually see a baseball game or basketball game, get some grub, come home. peter loved these days. he always looked forward to them.
- when peter naturally starts talking about preferring to be called a boy, they’re quick to adapt. they’d suspected for long enough that the change is easy, for them. “this is my nephew” rolls right off the tongue. ( @blueretriever )
- may was very proactive in his medical care. she fights a lot of doctors and works very hard to get one that will listen, and they’re both celebrating when peter gets his first prescription for blockers. “genuinely i think may wanted to see him have a normal teenager’s life, even though he was already extraordinary to her. she understood that gender affirming care is lifesaving and she doesn’t play about her kid.” ( @blueretriever )
- may gives him t-shots for the first few years. peter doesn’t love needles and at first he flinches too much to be able to do it himself. plus, it’s a big change, and having may do it is just. it’s nice. the support is nice.
- peter was very hesitant to introduce himself with his chosen name in ca:cw because he wasn’t sure if tony had done research on him, and therefore already knew him by his deadname ( @fotibrit )
- tony technically did know about peter having been afab. when he did his research, a lot of official documentation hadn’t been changed yet. but he didn’t say anything to peter about it, because when he showed up that first time, may was very quick to correct him. and tony was like “oh, ok. gotcha.” the kid called himself peter. called his alterego spider-man. the rest of it wasn’t his business to press.
- knowing that spider-man is trans, a binder is added to the first mark of the stark spider-man suit. this is complete with reminders and time constraints for how long it could be worn. it even included a pressure sensor, the binder will loosen under conditions in which the suit detects a lack of oxygen or movement ability depending on external situations. so he’s not gonna get stuck under a building AND have his chest extra compressed. it was all very thoughtful! and entirely useless, because peter didn’t need it. but he appreciated it nonetheless. it is removed for mark ii.
- when peter decides to come out to tony on his own terms, later, tony feels like the most trusted person in the world. he is immediately paying full attention. he’s nodding. he’s listening. he says “thank you for telling me.” (he also cries. peter laughs at him.)
- the spider-bite made things more complicated, when it came to medical care. when peter expresses his distress over this, tony ends up working with several people to synthesize testosterone that will work in peter’s funky system.
- tony also did extensive research in case peter ever wanted to take any other steps in transition. he did find a specialized surgeon that would be able to operate on him safely with his enhanced metabolism and healing factor (if peter decided he wanted it).
- when peter feels particularly dysphoric he tends to go out as spider-man more, it’s a good coping mechanism for him. it’s an identity that’s created for himself that has never been known as anything but a hero. a male hero, particularly. and everybody sees him and treats him as such.
- “as a result [of him projecting his “ideal self” onto spidey] he is very defensive of spider-man when criticized (much to his secret identity’s detriment) or even just gets very very upset when he sees people hating on spidey, because it feels like a personal attack” ( @birds-0fprey )
- peter drags him to pride one year when he goes with may and his friends. tony buys an exorbitant amount of trinkets. he’s collecting stuff with the trans flag on it like a proud parent. peter takes a lot of pictures, and he laughs a lot. ( @1-800-murd0ck )
- tony stark gets wayyyy more aggressive abt transphobes than peter does. tony stark at pride openly wearing the trans flag is quoted saying “i have close friends that are trans, anybody who disrespects them can shove their hand up their ass and fuck themselves” or something else passionately vulgar and creative
- peter would see this trending on social media and text ned that “omg im tony stark’s close friend”
- peter is very self-conscious about spider-man being associated with the black widow. they’ve both got their whole spider-thing going on, he gets it, but it gives him crazy dysphoria. he doesn’t want to say he doesn’t like being associated with nat, though. he doesn’t want to come off as misogynistic. when natasha learns of this, she starts to emphasize spider-man often in public as a spider son, spider brother, etc. ( @fotibrit )
- tony regularly gives him stupid gag gifts as a means of affirming him. cringe t-shirts are a love language, pete. better get used to it. especially because ned and mj join in on getting peter the stupidest shit they can think of. ( @1-800-murd0ck )
- spidey regularly raises money for lgbtqia organizations with feast. lots of fundraisers for trans folk to get gender affirming care. tony is a top donator, anonymously. this is not including the generous public donations already from stark industries.

So obviously it's referring to how in Spiderman: Homecoming, we get to see clips of the battle during Civil War from Peter's pov on his phone.
But taking this and making it Infinity War??? It's got my writer brain buzzing! Just imagine:
-As he jumps out the window of the bus after seeing the spaceship hovering over New York, you get really shaky footage of him swinging towards the chaos, along with "Looks like aliens are invading.. again. Except this time they're using a Giant Metal Donut as a ship? Honestly thought it would look much cooler. Star Wars did it better." He gets to the scene of Tony getting his ass handed to him by the alien gorilla thing "Oh- there's Mr. Stark! And.. he's.. I think he insulted one of the aliens, I need to go help him- I'll be back in a second" Video ends
-As Peter, in the brand new Iron Spider suit, sneaks onto the alien space ship after Tony thinks he got sent back to Earth, narrating breathlessly "So.. change of plan.. I am now on the spaceship that is apparently owned by an alien that looks like Squidward.. did not see that coming. He hit me with a metal sign too.. not cool.. head still hurts a bit from that. But anyways.. I gotta help Mr. Stark find this wizard guy before Squidward gets the necklace from him." Theres a crash and the camera turns to where we see Tony making his way onto the ship. "There's Mr. Stark.. okay.. thank God.. thought it might've been something else. Uh.. ok. I'll be back." Video ends.
-Next video starts with some scenery of the debris on Titan. "Alright.. so.. lotta stuff happened.. uh.. saved the wizard.. was made an Avenger, met a small team of space heroes?" The camera flips around to Peter, zooming in over his shoulder as Quill is speaking to Tony, while Drax and Mantis do their own thing "I Was briefly taken hostage.. but we're cool now. They're led by some human.. I think.. called Starlord or something. He thinks Footloose is the greatest movie of all time for some reason? I don't think he's seen Star Wars.. then there's a weird bug girl.. and some buff alien guy" Camera focuses on Peter again. "But we're all on the same side. Apparently we have to now fight another big purple alien named Thanos to keep him from getting Dr. Strange's necklace.." We hear Tony summon Peter over to the conversation "Ok, duty calls.. gotta go-" Video ends
-Video starts with the face of a roughed up Peter, catching his breath, a bit of blood on his face. "So.. bad news.. we lost.. uh.. let's just say Thanos has a really powerful rock collection.. kinda handed our asses to us.. uh.." We see Peter space out for a second, then blink and rub his temple, looking around. "Ok.. somethings not right.. uh.." We see him start to walk over to Tony before staggering, his gaze no longer focused on the camera "Mr. Stark? I don't feel so good." Peter staggers once more "I don't know.. I don't know what's happening. I don't.." the phone falls to the ground with a clatter, the phone facedown on the ground, the video dark as we hear Peter in the background, begging with Tony, his voice breaking as he starts to cry. "I don't wanna go, I don't wanna go, sir, please. Please, I don't wanna go. I don't wanna go." There's a muffled thud, then quiet for a few seconds followed by an. "I'm sorry" Theres quiet for a long time, the phone still facedown, the screen dark, before Nebula speaks "He did it." There's more quiet for awhile, until the phone is shakily lifted up, the camera screen cracked, but showing Tony's tearstained face looking at the camera for a few seconds. The video ends
Peter Parker was definitely the type of kid to get him and Ned in trouble for talking during class and then go "Ned wasn't talking, only I was!" And be very adamant about Ned not getting in trouble
We don’t talk enough about MJ’s character development in homecoming. She got introduced as the lonely nerd that always reads (gym scene, she reads and has no partner for the sit-ups)
she used to sit with Peter and Ned because they’re nerds too and probably felt less bad than the others. When asked why she’s sitting with them she says it’s because she doesn’t have any friends.
then during the aca deca trip she spent more time with them, even went to the swimming pool, even if she only sat on the outline and read, she was part of the group activity.
despite not having friends MJ says to Peter when they stand in front of the Washington Monument “My friends are up there”. She could’ve said classmates or teammates and I think if she wanted to she would’ve, so I don’t think she said “friends” because it was the fastest thing to get Spiderman to safe them, showing that now she thinks of the aca deca teammates as her friends.
and of course, in the end, when MJ becomes the new captain of the aca deca team, she says “my friends call me MJ” and when Ned says that he thought she didn’t have any friends she answer with “I didn’t”, meaning that now she has.
I guess what I’m trying to say is that we don’t talk enough about how MJ was a complete character with character traits and who didn’t only stay the same despite being a side character. It’s giving hints that she would be important in te following movies even before she said that she’s called ‘MJ’. The writers did a good job there.
(Or maybe we’ve talked about it enough and I’m just fucking late to the party)

I absolutely agree with ALL of this. Here’s my two cents:
Whenever a romance scene (even if it’s just a couple kissing) comes up in a movie Tony and Peter are watching, Tony covers Peter’s eyes all dramatically as a joke, like “oh!!! you can’t watch that!!! ooh!!!” but then one time he did and Peter was like “hey thanks man” so now he just keeps doing it. It’s like their thing.
He likes things like holding hands, hugs, cuddling, and kissing, but anything more is like “WE’VE REACHED THE DANGER ZONE”. I think he definitely has a few special people (May, Tony, MJ) who he feels very safe with and feels okay with them touching him. I think this has some intersectionality with his autism as well— I personally also have a lot of sensory issues regarding being touched and my personal space, and I can definitely see Peter struggling with something similar that makes it hard for him to ask for/accept physical affection (despite being touch-starved).
Peter gets crushes on people, but in like a “I admire their work ethic” or “I bet we could have some really cool discussions” type of way. I think he’s definitely more drawn to people with good, genuine personalities. This is why his relationship with MJ makes sense because, despite the front she puts up, she’s very smart and aware of the world around her (politics, world history, etc). She’s observant, she’s an artist, and though she may seem distant at first, she really does care very deeply. She mirrors and compliments Peter in a lot of ways.
That’s not to say he doesn’t find physical aspects of people attractive, though. I have a headcanon that Peter has a special interest in movies and photography (the reason why he can reference so many movies AND later becomes a photographer for the Daily Bugle), so he has a very sharp eye for composition and often gets distracted by things like good lighting or complimenting colors in his environment. When he finds people physically attractive, it usually looks like “the way the light catches their eyes is so beautiful, it makes them look so alive” or “their skin tone with that color sweater looks amazing”. He notices the small things about people that make them truly beautiful. It’s a lot more nuanced than “they’re hot”.
As I mentioned earlier, I like to think his asexuality also has some intersectionality with his autism. This is just from my personal experience, but I know my autism has definitely impacted the way I perceive certain things that other people view as normal, and ever since I learned about sex I just thought it was just weird and gross, in all of its forms. My mom told me I would understand when I was older, and it’s been years, and I still don’t get it, so….. yeah. I just don’t have a desire for that sort of thing. I feel like he’d probably be a similar way.

peter parker with really unorthodox eating habits. his metabolism works very fast. he can and will eat large meals multiple times a day. but there are also times during the winter where he’ll eat less frequently, maybe once a day, depending. usually he’ll prefer food after he ‘earns it’ (i.e., taking down an enemy gang. suddenly the food tastes a lot better. like a spider webbing up their meal). additionally, when he gets food on patrol, he likes to take it up high. it’s subconscious, he doesn’t really get why he does it, he just knows that when he’s holding a meal he’d rather eat it perched on the top of a building.
It would’ve been so cool to have Tom’s Peter work for the Bugle too.
He would take pictures of Spidey and he would sell them to support May, even though he hates what the Bugle writes about Spider-Man. He would still do it, for May.
If May found out she would of course tell him to stop, especially after she finds out that Peter is Spider-Man. She would tell him that there must be another way to get money because she hates J Jonah Jameson and what he says about Spider-Man. But she would appreciate the gesture very much.
It would’ve been so cool to have Tom’s Peter have a bit more connection to the other Spideys. It could’ve worked if he had a little more time between becoming Spider-Man and Tony recruiting him for the Civil War.
