Hello!! Here’s my tribute to Marble Hornets, 3 Saved Voice Messages. It takes place during Entry 87.

I just watched this series for the first time when Tim Sutton streamed it back in April – and I’ve basically been working on this comic ever since. I was really struck by how lonely the episodes felt, especially towards the end. It was a lot of fun watching it with hundreds of other people who already held it dear… and I think it goes without saying that it’s dear to me now, too.

“Dear Sister” is the rare SNL sketch making fun of a specific pop culture moment that transcended the thing it is a satire of. No one remembers the OC but the sketch is still wonderful regardless.

So I’m sure the lore is in the notes but here it is reconstructing from the rusty leaking trap of my memory: the Canadian show Degrassi used this music cue when the character Drake got shot. The OC used it in the exact same way the following year in an episode when Marissa shoots Trey. They also used different parts of this same song earlier in the episode at Caleb’s funeral. Actually connecting it to the the running theme of death/endings through the episode.

and SNL finally was just like enough already with the “Hide and Seek”

#the meme is so famous now but the full sketch is brilliant #from a comedy writing geek perspective i love that it doesn't just end with the escalation but includes the final ending twist with the cops #a lot of comedy sketches (especially in the last few years) just end with an escalation #but there technically should always be a satisfying final twist!#this was my childhood

idk if you're all aware but there's a dog on instagram who looks like a pit bull / chihuahua mix but in the most cartoonish way possible. they just mixed and matched parts.

like i know that what i'm seeing is just a dog but my brain keeps saying "centaur"

imagine you're frolicking in a field, prancing through long grass, singing "falalalala~", occasionally picking a flower. etc, etc. but a guy in the same field is watching you, about 20 paces away. he lowers his opera glasses (which he was using to watch you) and starts clutching his head and screaming with blind rage because of how much you're pissing him off. that's what it's like to be on the internet.
