My emotions are all over the place.

On the one hand, I'm depressed. I feel lost. Lonely. Hopeless. Hateful.

But on the other, I'm excited for new chances. Eager. Adventurous. Determined.

With a little bit (or maybe a lot) of spite thrown in.

Sometimes it feels like this is all some terrible nightmare I'm going to wake up from.

Other times it's a soul crushing reality, and I feel ashamed.

Sometimes divorce feels like a new beginning.

Most of the time, it feels like I'm a disappointment. That's how society seems to treat it and it's ingrained in to me.

And I know all I can do is keep moving forward. Survive one day at a time. But it's fucking terrifying.

I'm out of a job. I'm neurodivergent. I'm suffering from a life changing injury. I have a chronic illness. Maybe more than one. Probably more than one. My education is in an underappreciated and poorly treated industry. I had no choice but to move in with my family. So I lost the routine I had built. The independence I'd gained.

And then I'm left here thinking... Can I recover from this?

I miss when ads were a single click and then they’re gone. Now every ad has a minimum of three phases where you watch a video, exit the still frame of fake gameplay, and then exit the app download. That doesn’t even touch on the ones that forcibly take you to another app after opening a tab in safari without you ever touching the screen.

I hate advertising. I hate that you can’t do anything without companies jumping down your throat with mostly bullshit ads. I hate that billboards exist. I hate that every company unanimously decided to make their ads longer and longer. I hate that ad blockers try to charge you money and there are in app purchases to remove ads. I hate that my attention has become commodified. I hate that there’s nothing I can do about it.
