I was not happy with Draco's insistence that I rest. But I guess he was right. I needed it.

*Deep breath*

I was kicked out of my apartment at the end of June and told he wanted a divorce. We fought plenty but it honestly came out of nowhere and I've been having a difficult time coping. And for obvious reasons, reading and writing (or watching in some cases) anything with any sort of romance has been painful. So this story fell to the back burner for a bit.

But I'm trying to get back into some sort of routine now that it's been about a month since my D-Day (what my therapist has been calling it). Which does include writing. This is still my comfort fic even though I now realize I'm still missing my Draco.

I'm going to be updating Chapter 3 sometime today with final edits. I also have a bunch of scenes I've written for this AU that don't fit into the narrative I'd like to eventually post as well as some deleted scenes that just didn't work in the final draft. And some of these extra scenes were inspired by comments I've received.

The usual disclaimers:

WARNINGS for CURRENT chapter: minor Dom/sub overtones (Draco is right. This one is entirely his fault); conversations about canon violence and assault

WARNINGS for FUTURE chapters: medical procedures, inappropriate flirting, a lot of sexual innuendoes, cursing, non-sexual dom/sub dynamics, consensual disciplinary spanking, discussions of religion, general dark discussions of war but no graphic depictions (mostly)

My woke take, as someone who has worked in both a public library and a school library, is that we desperately need both more books that are at a higher reading level but a less mature subject matter, and more books that are at a lower reading level but a more mature subject matter, because 8 year olds who are advanced readers are still 8 year olds and don't want to read about graphic violence and torture, and teens and adults who have learning difficulties or who are just later readers for whatever reason are still teens and adults and don't want to read about Billy the Bunny going to school or whatever the hell.

why do so many freaks go right to “there should be exams or tests before you have kids” when the real solution is better social services, robust infant and child development education that is accessible both financially and schedule/distance accommodating, and resources throughout any stage of a child’s life. genuine question like did you think about any social development before going straight to eugenics

uhhhh when i first awakened as an alterhuman I had a fennec fox (altertype??? idfk) and i just wanted something that sounded cool and my first mask (a fennec fox) had removable flowers that i would change for the seasons. My favourite animals have been crocodiles since I was small, and I came up with the pun of 'crocs' (both the shoe and the slang for crocodile) eating shoes. My first account with this name was Instagram, and it was the one shoe rather than two, then my tumblr took the second shoe, my discord ate the shoes and my ao3 gave back the shoes lol

Uhhh so when I was a itty bitty tot I saw the name "Isabella" spelled out and I was like whouh that's a whole sentence [is a bella] (I was JUST learning about grammar)

And I became a weee bit obsessed with it. And it stuck in my mind. So it was the first thing I could think of for a user name and I figured Isabella would be a common enough name that no one would really question it if I was using it online? Then I messed with the spelling enough that it was unique and tumblr would let be use it as a username.

So yeah Im basically borrowing the name bc I think it's cool. And a whole sentence.

I've always loved birds and found Ravens and other corvids fascinating. Add in a healthy love of poetry and Edgar Allan Poe and middle school me decided that Shadow Raven sounded really cool. Raven with an e though is always taken, so being a genius 12ish year old decided to switch the E out for an I. I tend to drop the "Shadow" part these days and just go by Ravin, but many of my older accounts (like my Tumblr) still have the Shadow.

Oh my lord this is getting long. Um my very first fanfic that I ended up never finishing or posting was about Edmund Pevensie having a guardian angel during The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe and her name was Starr.
