idk i think you should make this character's heterosexuality relevant to the narrative. i mean why are they cis if it's not servicing the plot. you can't just throw story elements in for no reason if you're gonna make an able bodied character it should really serve a purpose. like why are they white are you just trying to fill a checklist? :/

(I have added a more detailed desc below the read more, because I know that certain triggers can be varied depending on how detailed something is and I don't want people thinking they'll be okay since it's vauge. Safe reading!!)
What to expect: A character contemplating suicide and endangering himself while thinking about it (with the scene taking place on a roof) though he does not actually commit; he is in denial about being serious throughout the scene and doesn't genuinely believe he will go through with it.

It should be raining, was all Hizashi could think, as he ascended the stairs he used to walk with two other people. But it wasn't raining; it was a perfectly ordinary, sunny day in the transition phase between Summer and Autumn. It was mild, with a slight breeze: below the roof, students were walking home or to the train station with blazers tied around their waists. He watched a group of girls jump on the crunch, orange leaves. It was painfully photogenic.
Hizashi leant against the railing, pretending his eyes weren't stinging. Gently, he set down his backpack. It had Oboro's camera inside and he didn't want to damage it, even though he had no idea how to use it. He had taken it from Oboro's locker, which his homeroom teacher had asked him to clear out. He meant to send the film to a lab to turn it into digital video, but he just couldn't go home right now.
He considered dying, jumping, right there, but that would be cowardly. He wiped away tears with a fist. Dammit, boys don't cry. Besides, that would be unfair on Shouta.
He wondered if it would hurt when he landed. He wondered if he would fall unconscious before the broken bones registered in his brain. He wasn't actually going to do it. He wasn't actually going to jump. He wouldn't actually. He probably wouldn't object if someone pushed him off though.
Tapping a vague backbeat on the metal, he thought he would regret it when he was falling through the air. When he would feel the lurch of gravity pulling him back to Earth, he would regret it. Tap-tap tap, tap-tap tap. He needed to stop thinking about this. Stop thinking about it so seriously. Fuck. He would regret it when he thought about Shouta. How hard it would hit him. Would it be worse to lose two friends within a few weeks or to lose Yamada years later? It would probably be selfish to jump off a roof so soon. They were both still reeling from Oboro. He was pretty certain Shouta was having a worse time than him.
Fuck it, he thought, lifting a foot onto the first bar of the railing. It wasn't designed that well, he mused, as he pulled himself over and onto the edge. The gaps were just wide enough to use as a foothold and it was short enough to overcome without effort. He shuffled so that his back was pressed against the metal and his toes jutted just over the edge. His chest was both tighter and looser at the same time. Was he supposed to have taken off his shoes? He hadn't considered it, because he wasn't being serious, and he still wasn't being serious. Was he... Was he even contemplating suicide wrong?
He moved away, barely an inch, so that his back was no longer against the fence, but his fingers still laced over the top. He wouldn't be able to do it. He lifted a foot up anyway.
The door to the roof rattled.
"Shit, shit, shit-" Yamada scrambled back over the railing, stumbling a few steps back and falling next to his backpack. The door creaked, rusted latch finally giving way. He brushed hair away from his face. His heart pounded. It drowned out all sound, as though he was underwater. The figure paused in the doorway, then relaxed and went to join him.

At my school there was a classroom full of rubber ducks, which sparked my love for the little guys (I have like 10 but I wanna get more). So it became kind of a thing for my family to call me Ducky and say that I was collecting my siblings. So when I made a [tumblr] account I used that nickname! The doesstuff part comes from the fact that I am indeed doing stuff right here on [tumblr]!

My favourite animals have been crocodiles since I was small, and I came up with the pun of 'crocs' (both the shoe and the slang for crocodile) eating shoes. My first account with this name was Instagram, and it was the one shoe rather than two, then my tumblr took the second shoe, my discord ate the shoes and my ao3 gave back the shoes lol

- paranoia that someone can read his thoughts at all times, which really sucks considering J'onn is with the JL
- needing to check his kids are breathing at night (typically done for babies) and if he doesn't do this he believes he has doomed them to die by not checking
- showering/washing hands if he can't shower, at least 3 times after patrol (more if it was a hard night, and he gets into a cycle if he doesn't do it right. This makes his skin really dry and itchy)
- he needs to check the cowl is on several times in a mirrored surface even though he can feel it on his face and knows its irrational
- one obsession is a constant fear of harming himself or others, either indirectly or directly (eg deliberately harming his children or accidentally killing them all by setting the house on fire by leaving the oven on)
- the "trophies" in the batcave is actually the only type of hoarding he can't overcome the compulsion for, because they might be useful someday (except the dinosaur. That's not a compulsion, he just likes dinosaurs)
- he often repeats nonsensical words in his head, either because he can't stop it or to avoid intrusive thoughts
- he will think of "neutralising" thoughts to counter obsessive thoughts, especially on patrol
- when thoughts of harming others get too bad, he will pull his hair, which helps only slightly
- he always does 3 out loud and 5 mental headcounts before and after patrol, so he's really upset when Dick or Jason aren't present because he can never be sure if they're out that night and if they returned
- he avoids Crime Alley to avoid both a PTSD attack and to avoid the intrusive thoughts that say it was his fault (in a lot of his canon dreams the gunman is a distorted version of the Batman)
So like, Martian Manhunter is a telepath and heâs said several times in Justice League comics that he doesnât like getting into Batmanâs head because itâs really unpleasant in there, and I always kind of rolled my eyes because at the time it was said, Batman was in his toxic masculinity/Iâm so edgy stage. I thought it was a cheap way of going âoooh look heâs so grim and dark and cool even telepaths canât handle himâ
But taken with the modern âBatman has PTSD and Obsessive Compulsive Disorderâ this suddenly makes SO MUCH MORE SENSE because if there is a way to get a telepath to go âum no thank youâ to some mental shenanigans it would be someone with constant obsessive intrusive thought spirals and massive trauma.
Like Martian Manhunter hooking up a mental link between Justice League members trying to screen out how Batmanâs brain is screaming at him for the entire 12 hour mission about how Nightwing hasnât stopped by the cave to switch out his costume for the new improved kevlar weave so he has definitely already been killed by a rocket launcher and oh god what is Batman going to say at the funeral
so after the mission is over Martian Manhunter has like, a telepathic hangover and has to call Dick up on his Justice League reserve communicator going âI swear to god, if you donât get your ass to Gotham to switch out your suit I will come down there, phase into your body and WALK YOU THERE MYSELF. Which incidentally, IS ALSO SOMETHING BATMAN WORRIES ABOUTâ and then has to crawl into bed for 3 daysÂ
B probably also berates himself *constantly* for every single perceived mistake. Whatever level of critical other members think B is of them, heâs 100x worse with himself. So just imagine how fucked up it would be, being aware that not only Bâs cool exterior is just a façade because inside he is SCREAMING but also of the mismatch between what other JLA members think B is feeling and doing and what is actually going on.
And to make even spicier - B is also the guy that would be completely horrified at having someone seeing the inside of his head, but if a mission called for it he would grit his teeth and bear it. Being inside his mind probably makes MM feel like mental rapist, completely aware of how invaded and violated B feels - and that B is completely willing to do it to himself for The Mission.
Being inside Bruceâs head would be a horrible thing because it would force you to confront just how much he is *constantly suffering*, mentally - and that B himself doesnât see that as an issue he needs to fix.
So youâre wrong about some of this, but OMG Iâm ridiculously excited I get to tell you about it because Martian Manhunter is pretty much my favorite obscure character in all of fiction and his relationship with Batman is fascinating
Batman doesnât hate having J'onn in his head. He hates hurting J'onn WITH his head, and J'onn most definitely doesnât feel like a mental rapist about it and Iâll tell you why
J'onn is really, really far from being human. Putting aside the fact Martians have âsexesâ like bees do and J'onn is a member of the quiet, thoughtful, âphilosopherâ class (props to the OG non-binary), Martians donât really talk out loud so much. They think at each other. He knows how to stay telepathically âpoliteâ even while linking minds because he learned it in Martian kindergarten.
Bruce hating J'onn touching thoughts with him is like hating a deaf person for trying to speak sign language while youâre punching them in the face. Like, J'onn can talk out loud, but he doesnât always want to and he shouldnât be required to. Bruce isnât going to be the douchebag who goes âspeak English, immigrant!â Telepathy is part of how J'onn fucking talks, plus itâs an incredible tactical advantage to have communications that canât be hacked. Unfortunately Batmanâs shitty mental health hurts J'onn 100% of the time, J'onnâs response is to go out of his way to make sure Bruce is never hurt in return, and Bruce isnât enough of an asshole to not feel bad about that.
Like, the situation is kind of amazing. Because J'onn is (not an exaggeration) millions of years old. Heâs been on earth since before humanity evolved as a species. And he spent that whole time just chilling, thinking laid-back Martian thoughts and petting dinosaurs. Humans started getting big brains and this incredibly powerful alien went 'gosh I canât wait until theyâre smart enough to discuss the trolley problem with meâ and 'must protect the new developing sentientsâ. Hereâs this ancient, kind being, and Bruce is just constantly mentally scraping nails down a chalkboard at him. So not only is Bruce hating himself like he usually does, he has the added guilt that those (accurate-he thinks)feelings about himself are directly hurting a friend.
Plus, being friends with J'onn isnât like being friends with Clark. Itâs like being friends with a dragon. One of those ancient, wise ones that protected people. In fact, J'onn probably WAS some of those dragons. People are walking around with tattoos of asian dragons on their arms and J'onn is going 'oh hey, itâs me!â
And like, are you gonna want to be shitty to your dragon friend? No, of course not. But too bad if youâre Batman, because your brain is constantly giving him a migraine. The result of this in comics is really interesting, because Batman is SO soft with J'onn. He treats J'onn kindly and carefully. You wouldnât notice it unless youâre a J'onn fan like me, but even in the late 90âs/early 2000âs when Batman was ice-cold and shitty to everyone, he was still respectful with J'onn. Because like, he was already hurting him just thinking, and guilt is Bruceâs side hobby đ
A normal day in Bruceâs life be like: struggled to get up, got flashbacked to one of his worst traumas, blamed himself for not predicting every single one of villainâs actions, punished himself for it, felt helpless like a child/felt undeserving of being called a hero unlike others/felt like a dissapointment, dismissed his own needs and stress in order to solve his case and justify his continued living, then went to bed and had a nightmare đ

Sexuality being important to you doesnât make you a creep, youâre not objectifying people because you prefer to explore charactersâ and shipsâ sexual lives and preferences. Sex is not shameful. Donât let anyone try to shame you for celebrating and loving sexuality. Sex and smut have been an important part of fandom throughout itâs whole history. You donât have to meet any silly quota of non-sexual fandom interests.
Thereâs still so much sex negativity in the world. People can have sex negative opinions without even realizing because theyâve grown up in such a repressive and conservative culture. Fandom has always been a place to escape that repressive culture.
