So, an acquaintance of mine on Twitter was doing fan-suggested What Ifs? for Doctor Strange and one of them caught my attention; What If Clea had never met Stephen? Who would she become? And I think that's what I'd want for a Clea solo series or mini.

Not an out of continuity story, per say, just a story of her dealing with politics and evil doers in the Dark Dimension with flashbacks showing what happened to her between Waid and Mackay's runs that are tied into the book's main story.

Because honestly? Exploring who Clea Strange would be without Stephen's kindness and gentler nature to guide her is a concept worth exploring...And I kind of get the impression that already happened based on bits and pieces from Jed's run. That she did things she's not proud of and is afraid Stephen won't love her anymore if he knew the truth. Completely forgetting that; a) He's deeply in love with her, b) He'd more likely blame himself since her forgetting him was the price he had to pay for asking Mephisto to help save the universe, and c) Stephen's done questionable things himself be it under mind-control or of his own free will, so I think he'll understand. But hey, that's fear for you.

inspired by a drag path video I saw of a cat trying to comfort it's owner even as it took it's last breath. Reminded me of the belief some people have that cats don't want their loved ones to watch them die.

Stephen and Clea Strange with the polyamory flag for Pride Month 💜

I was inspired mostly by this amazing post by @doctorofmagic which discusses the queer-coding in Doctor Strange's character throughout his history.

I personally like to simply headcanon both Stephen and Clea as vaguely "queer" rather than assigning them any specific label, but for this art I wanted to use the polyamory flag and discuss a bit of their poly coding though the years. I love it when it's used nicely and not as an excuse to make them cheat on eachother, then again writers unfortunately have a tendency for the latter, or to use it as a joke. I'd love to see more positive poly representation for them, while they're also together and so in love with one another!
