the idea that every summer will be as hot if not hotter than this for the rest of my life is unbearable i need to (remembers suicide jokes are bad for my mental health) murder an oil executive
the "came back wrong" trope except like... they didnt. like this mad scientists wife died, and so he studied necromancy, brought her back, and she came back and it all worked. like she came back exactly the same as she was before with literally no difference. but the scientist guy is like "oh no... what have i done.... shes Different now!!!! she came back Wrong!!!!" and shes just like. chilling. reading a book. cooking dinner. shes just so so normal but in the guys mind hes like "oh shes soooo weird" but shes just normal
I hope every single person who puts nice comments in tags under reblogged art knows that you you guys are the backbone of society. Being an artist online sucks these days, but here on tumblr I still get compliments under artworks that I made years ago. I hope you know every WOW and heart emoji and heartfelt compliment and funny comment you left in the tags is part of the reason I kept drawing all these years, in spite of everything that was going on.
I've been screenshotting the nice tags I get for years, and at this point it would be literal thousands of lines if I still had my old files. I love u tumblr users <333333333
another heavy handed symbolism moment: my mom has a potted sunflower in the kitchen. because it is a sunflower, it keeps turning towards the light from the window. my mother keeps rotating it so it faces inward because she wants "to see its beautiful petals and have it really brighten up the space!" . the sunflower is visibly wilting .
warnings; minor spoilers for the movie i guess if you squint. suggestive. talk of spiders and their body parts, i have too much knowledge of spiders. term girlfriend is used. reader is referred to as female. mdni. it's just a silly thought i had so no proof reading
Peter's panting. Chest heaving, throat glistening with sweat — the kind of sweat that you'd get from a thorough workout. Or really intense, kind of crazy sex. He's not quite sure what came over him, not sure what day it even was at this point.
But his head is finally quiet, that's all that matters. That weird nattering in the back of his brain is silent and for the first time in days, weeks even, he's able to let out a heavy sigh and let his body just relax. He won't feel the burn in his thighs tomorrow or the ache in his biceps, not with how his body works after the spider bite. He feels at peace.
"Do you know that male spiders usually get eaten after they find a female spider to fuck?"
Well, he was at peace.
He flounders for a second, turning his head sharply on the pillow to look at you. You're in no better state, perhaps worse. Your hair is a mess; his fingers had been all over you—and if he squints, there may just be a bit of web fluid in there. He won't mention that until you have to wash it out. You're glistening too, not just with sweat but his own spit, Jesus Christ.
"W-What?" His voice is a little wrecked, a side effect of grunting like a caveman, apparently. He tries to clear it.
"Yeah. When male spiders moult, they reach maturity and have to find a mate. Sometimes they survive after, but the female always tries to eat them. For dominance or protection, maybe."
Peter grimaces at the memory of his own moult. You're not even looking at him as you ramble off about male spiders, how their pedipalps look like big boxing gloves to help subdue the female into mating. He doesn't miss how your hands flick down to his own large hands.
"So you're going to eat me?"
The silence that follows shouldn't be as long as it is. It shouldn't make him squirm when you glance at him, the flat expression to your face—are you joking around? Are you serious? Are you about to knock him out, wrap him up in some foil and shove him in the oven? He can win that fight, right? He can fight back against a woman trying to eat him-
Your laugh is like light at the end of the tunnel. His shoulders immediately unbunch, and his eyebrows relax. You're grinning, laughing in a way that makes his heart flutter in his sweat-ridden chest.
"'Course I'm not going to eat you." You roll onto your side to face him, he matches you. "My oven's not big enough anyway."
His face falls, and it's nearly impossible to not crack into a wider grin at the expression on his face.
"Not funny, by the way."
"It's a little funny."
He lunges, not in the way Spider-Man might with a villain, but the way a boyfriend would when he's wrapped in a small warm bubble with his girlfriend. His arms are around you before you can squirm away, muffling your indignant squeak into the plushness of his pectorals. He's holding back despite having an ironclad grasp on you; you know that too, apparently, when you suddenly go lax in his arms.
Peter nuzzles his nose into your hair, taking in a deep breath in and letting his body relax now that he's got you all wrapped up in his arms. Nice and quiet. As it should be after he just essentially fucked you through the bed, he's not even sure where you got the energy after all that.
"Is this the part where you try and mate after subduing me?"
Peter groans, long and loud to the point where you're giggling in his arms at the vibrations. "Stop using the word mate."
Wrong thing to say, seemingly, as you're pulling your head out from under his chin so fast that it actually causes his teeth to clack. His eyes blink at the sharp pain in his mouth before readjusting onto you... aaaand you're pissed.
"You don't see me as a mate?" You're pouting now, and Peter hates that because it works on him every time. He's already melting, using those big hands to smooth down your hair and pull you in closer. You try to resist, but you somehow end up nose-to-nose with him.
"I mean, in the sense of relationships and my own biology, yeah I guess you're my mate. But when you say it like that, it sounds so barbaric and primal and a little silly, if I'm honest. What ever happened to boyfriend and girlfriend?"
He doesn't notice at first, with how close you are, how your smile grows the more he rambles nonsense about his spider hormones, how he's not entirely an arachnid. It's a kiss on the lips that has him falling silent, chasing after your lips when you break away.
"I'm just messing with you, Peter."
"I know." His voice softens when you smile at him again, naturally falling into you to lay another delicate kiss on your lips. He loves you, perhaps more than anything he's ever loved before. You get him in a way that no one else does; you question things he's not thought of yet and support his nighttime activities.
His tongue is still gentle when it invades your mouth, a large hand angling your head just-so, giving him the room he needs to work. You're pliant under his hands, soft in a way that maybe Spider-Man doesn't deserve but soft for him regardless. Your quiet moans are enough to stir that feeling back up in his stomach, to have him rolling over until he's between your legs and his body caging you in once again.
You both break for air, just enough space between you that Peter can see every speck of colour in your eyes.
"You can't cum out of your hands, right?"
If he was a stronger man, he might've rolled off of you and went to sulk in his corner with all his computers—but he's not. He's weak, especially for you, because he drops his head down into your neck with an amused groan.
"Shut up." There's no bite to it, not when your laugh fills his stomach with the butterflies he always gets when he's around you.
I watched Brand New Day in theatres this morning and I am. I am screaming.
MAJOR ASS FUCKING SPOILERS BELOW
Peter was so funny!!!!!!!! Gah I loved him and his humor and his relationship with Frank so goddamn much omg. And Jean???? What the hell she was so cool and traumatized and such a teenage girl but so badass I loved her?????? Genuinely best Marvel movie I’ve seen in so long holy shit. Even just the style of the film was great, it felt new and exciting but just familiar enough to still be our beloved Spooderman
And listen just because I yumeship with Peter doesn’t mean I also don’t ship Spideychelle lemme tell you that broke my heart. The parallels between MJ’s fall and Gwen’s (I know we already saw that but damn spidey’s girls just can’t stop falling off of things-)?!?! AAAAAAAAAAAA
the handshake bringing back Ned’s memories made me want to cry.
The scene where Jean goes into Peter’s mind and sees May actually did make me cry.
I was legit scared Peter would die at the end.
And all his tech???? And Evie?!?!?! GAJPALWJWKKDJAOAKSHDIKDS HES TONYS SON OH MY GOD IM CRYING
I thought for a brief moment wait a fuckin minute is that Sylvie when they first started hinting at Jean bc I haven’t finished Loki yet so for all I know it could have been but then I saw Sadie Sink and realized OH FUCKING SHIT
amazing depictions of sensory overload and overstimulation btw that was painfully realistic
I don’t even know what this reference is from but “you crying?” Got me, isn’t that Gojo or smth
On the topic of references the lord of the rings reference with Ned made me grab my brother and shake him for joy
(This movie reminded me of how much I love Ned I want to play DnD with him so bad)
Peter’s really a man now too. He’s still the goofy guy we know and love but he’s not a 15-year-old holding ferries together anymore and it shows. I’m so proud of him holy shit
The stretching scene 😂😂😂
YELENA WAS SO FUCKING FUNNY OMFG. I LOVE HER AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Peter taking the bullet for Jean almost made me scream. He just goes down and blood everywhere and HOLY SHIT I THOUGHT MARVEL WAS GUNNA KILL HIS ASS I WAS SO SCARED
The way I was manically grinning and giggling when Peter walks out and everyone’s cheering for Spider-Man-
I also loved Bruce’s role in this movie and I’m so scared what’s gonna happen to him next-
I was hoping for a Bucky cameo but I really can’t complain lol
really love that every time they cut to frank he was doing some bullshit. hits peter with an armored car and tells him to stop whining. lives in an abandoned ship with 20 booby traps like a maniac and thinks that's normal. brought a gun to a hulk and telepath fight and genuinely thought that would be enough. sees hundreds of people get frozen by jean's psychic powers and sets up a sniper gun on a roof because he's not gonna let that stop him. i have to respect the hustle
Omg that was so good. I’m honestly scared for the public’s reception; I liked it so much and I’m gonna be really upset if everyone hates it for some reason.
Overall, good movie. This situation was definitely a big potato, but I’m kind of glad it was just spidey, Frank, and MJ doing most of the solving and combat (less combat-wise for MJ obviously).
Loved Yelena showing up, was super hyped to see her since I got spoiled on her appearance, and that office scene was pretty funny.
When I was leaving that theater my shirt was SOAKED. I was watching it with my friend and I asked if it was bad, but they’re a liar and a cheat because I checked and it was so obvious </3 I think I started crying around Aunt May’s first appearance and just..didn’t stop for the rest of the movie :’)
For actual criticisms I’ve got, it’s just mainly stuff to do with Jean Grey’s role. Loved Sadie Sink’s acting, she did a really well job portraying the emotions, so my stuff is mainly a writing issue. The morality of Jean just felt kind of..all over the place? She was trying to find her sister—makes sense, she’s her only family left—but like…she’s definetly killed people. The blasts and fire from possessing the Scorpion would’ve racked up bodies, and the guards she made Frank shoot and that old dude that got hit by a truck definitely died. Like, those were direct hits at point blank, and they’re not meta so I doubt they’re surviving that. Their talk at the end was so incredibly well done, no complaints there, and I think her spell undid the one strange placed, at least on people she’s possessed.
It’s kind of out there but think about it. Ned didn’t have any reactions to the freeze other than clutching his chest, and seemed to go about his day normally because we see him in the shop later, but MJ was crying. You could just say it was fear because she knows she was after her before, but combined with her sitting on THAT rooftop wearing THAT necklace?? No chance that’s coincidence. She’s get her memories back, and Ned definitely has too. My theory for that is that since he’s got some relation to the mystics, he’s able to break his spell a lot easier, it just needed the right emotional response (oh my gosh I was SOBBING over the handshake. Ned finally found the other half of the handshake he never knew he knew. Also, it had been 4 YEARS since he last did that. I’m getting emotional again oh my gosh 💔)
Overall, good movie, 10/10, I’ve got low standards but these exceeded all of them, would recommend :D
