I’m going to say something that might sound crazy. Suicide and suicide attempts are sort of a societal alarm bell that says “something is very wrong with the environment this individual was in.” A living being choosing to take themselves out of existence is the most extreme act of distress there is. The state stepping in to silence this alarm bell by funneling suicidal people into a state sanctioned euthanasia program, normalizing this act through a socially accepted bureaucratic system, is not a good thing. It goes hand in hand with the state’s interest in maintaining the status quo at the expense of the population and the psychiatric industry’s interest in individualizing societal problems to extract profit and aid the existing system. It’s saying “there are no complaints here, just people with sick brains, carry on.”

A paraplegic former member of the Canadian military shocked MPs on Thursday by testifying that the Department of Veterans Affairs offered her, in writing, the opportunity for a medically assisted death — and even offered to provide the equipment.

Retired corporal Christine Gauthier, who competed for Canada at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Paralympics and the Invictus Games that same year, spoke before the House of Commons veterans committee and agreed to provide a copy of the letter.

"With respect to me, I have a letter in my file, because I had to face that as well," said Gauthier, referring to the debate about veterans being offered the option of medical assistance in dying (MAID).

"I have a letter saying that if you're so desperate, madam, we can offer you MAID, medical assistance in dying," said Gauthier who first injured her back in a training accident in 1989.

Testifying in French, she said she has been fighting for a home wheelchair ramp for five years.

So, maybe this example is a lil bit off-topic, but i just want to say: it is not a conspiracy theory, it WILL influence to the most vulnerable and "inconvenient" for the goverment groups, and not in good way.

just watched an episode on a serial rapist where a 18 year old girl was told by a policeman he’d put her in jail himself if she was lying, so she quickly changed her story & was fined $500. Years later a serial rapists computer was found where he documented all of these eapes & a photograph of her in the circumstance of her story was right there. “False reports” well I wonder how many “false reports” are true. & men are more likely to be raped than falsely accused also.

End Violence Against Women International (EVAWI) has an informative publication on this issue called "Raped, Then Jailed: The Risks of Prosecution for Falsely Reporting Sexual Assault", which includes the case example of the 18-year old OP is referencing:

Sexual assault (SA) crimes are difficult to investigate and substantiate, and the police are pressured to "close cases", the easiest method for SA reports is to get the victim to recant her statement, thereby providing evidence for them to charge her with a false report which is a 100% slam dunk way of closing a brand new case.

It's interesting how AI casually promotes domestic labor, and the corporations do so intentionally. -When you use a home AI like Alexa, or google home, echo dot, you are provided with a female voice. -When you use assistant or Secretary AI on your phone like Siri, google assistant, or bixby, you also have a female voice so basically, the female voices fulfill the role of servants who don't do anything that requires an opinon but when these corporations released an "intelligent" ai designed to contradict your opinion or seem smart, they switch to a male voice chat gpt? male IBM Watson? male claude? male military ai? male voice assistants are always given a female voice or name, while "practical" or "professional/intellectual" ai gets a male voice

women STOP working like a dog to financially support your bfs/husbands through advanced degrees or passion projects. "he says he'll do the same for me after," that is what they always say and then conveniently there is almost always an excuse why they can't when that time comes. "but when he achieves his goal it will pay off for us both" i know you think you can trust him but it is very common for these men to leave or cheat the second he lands the position he was aiming for. this is the #1 way i see young professional women getting their precious and hard earned resources funneled away from them and into a non-refundable deposit into a man who is not guaranteed to follow through on his promises. This is the oldest fucking trick in the "modern" man's book, please stop falling for it i am begging on my hands and knees

This Doonesbury abortion cartoon was originally written by Gary Trudeau in 2012, in response to a Texas law requiring women to have an ultrasound before an abortion. It was banned from many major newspapers, and they ran syndicated cartoons in its place.

Now seems like an appropriate time to bring these cartoons back, with the passing of Texas’ new law requiring the burial or cremation of miscarried or aborted fetal remains. I guess we’ll have to wait and see if Trudeau decides to write the sequel.
