Y’all get my self indulgent 2am sketches now, you’ve been upgraded
Luo Binghe smiled again, but this one was just plain deranged:
“Well? Or am I wrong again?”
Was the light in here weird or were Bing-ge’s eyes getting redder?.. They were! They were!
“Tell me, Shang Qinghua, do this lord’s musings hold some merit?”
Chapter 13 of A Transmigrator and a Time Traveler is here, and Binghe broke through my artblock 🙏 Tune in for: author-god faced with his glorious(terrifying) creation!
UPD: oh whoops didnt realize this excerpt might be a little misleading: this is very much Bing-mei / SVSSS Luo Binghe, Shang Qinghua just calls him Bing-ge because he does not have the need to mentally wifeguy him unlike some people didn't fully separate him from the OG in his mind (at this point in the story, as it's the first time he encountered this version of Binghe).
“Shizun, this disciple has a serious question,” Luo Binghe said solemnly. Now was the time to settle this old grievance of his! “Hm?” “Shizun, between myself and Liu-shimei, who has better looks?” [ ... ] “This master has never seen Liu-shizhi’s face; how can this master judge based on incomplete information?” Luo Binghe cast around for a moment, then grabbed onto a corner of the gauze curtain hanging off the bed post, drawing it over the lower half of his face. “Then, can shizun give his opinion based on what can be seen?” he said from behind it.
- A Transmigrator and a Time Traveler Walk Into the Bamboo House, chapter 12 -
Sometimes time travel is to fix the tragedies of the OG timeline, but sometimes it's also to ask your crush to tell you you are pretty òxó
Whenever I see someone refer to "Victorian era-" for places outside the UK I'm tempted to start saying shit like "Han Dynasty era Rome", "Soviet era Australia" etc
“Welcome to Soviet America, home of the McDonalds and Cocaine Cola. Long live Comrade Reagan.”
The Civil War, or as I like to call it, Late Tokugawa Period America
I know this is a joke but this helps me put a lot of historical periods into perspective.
The most recent one i heard was "Shakespearean Mesoameroca" to put in perspective how recently the genocide was
while working on something a little big i just took a sidestep to draw total nonsense as per usual. (song) lan arm strength

Some thoughts on the first scene
There is one thing I cannot help but think about the entire time right now. That very first scene of Castlevania: Nocturne. We are in Boston, its 1783, the American War of Independence is over, and Julia is bringing little Richter to the boat to send him to Tera in France to protect him.
And now the question is: Why?
Because you gotta look at the context there: She has had the boy in America with herself the entire time during the war. So, according to her, keeping Richter around during the freaking war of independence was safe. But apparently keeping him around now that the war is over, is dangerous. And I just cannot help but wonder: Why is that?
I have seen plenty of folks just shrug it of: "Because of Olrox. She knew he was hunting her." But frankly, that does not make any sense to me. Mostly because she still seems fairly confident she can defeat him and as they are confronting each other still wants Richter to go to the boat.
And also, you know. For once, I am a writer. And it being about Olrox would be a waste of a perfectly good twist. For another, I cannot help but look at the show from the context of colonialism as colonialism clearly is the driving theme of the show. And... take a wild guess what really geared up to get worse as the war ended?
Because while there had been genocide before, that genocide really geared up after the ending of the war. I talked yesterday about how the Iroquois disagreed what side of the Independence conflict being the best to side with in terms of keeping their culture and land with most siding with the British. And how the end of the war ended up meaning the American colonialists forced them off their lands.
Given the fact that the show so far established so clearly that "vampirism = colonialism" as a clear theme going on here right now... I cannot help but wonder, whether they link this stage of the genocide to the vampires?
I mean, we will see. But... I totally would be in support of that twist.
Richter: I thought you were a myth! Alucard: well, you were myth-taken
