I understand why... I just, as an autistic person its really hard to make friends, and Omegle was one of the ways I counted on to meet people, even if it was pretty rough with people at times :(

So Omegle literally JUST got closed? Like I use it just about every day, and I was just chatting with someone, moved on and was bouncing through, then I got an error and now it’s a big explanation about how it’s closed (and I’m not faulting the guy I’m not really surprised by what I can see from here) but like….im so sad? I bop around there for stuff all the time and I’ve been doing so for years and now it’s gone? I’ve just lost an old friend now?

In this year of Our Lord 2023, Omegle has fallen. (RIP) So here I am, laying all of this out, desperate to find more rp partners. I am 27, so I am only really interested in rping with people that are 21+. I am interested in both fandom and OC rps, depending on the mood and all of that. I will list the fandoms I'm looking for, as well as who I play, and general themes. I am a third person, literate roleplay, I stick to 1-2 paragraphs, but the length can always fluctuate depending on the roleplay and my roleplay partners. When it comes to RPs, I like them light and soft. I also like them dark and heavy, with lots of Whump, Angst, and Hurt/Comfort, as well as some darker themes that would require trigger warnings, all of which will be discussed privately, of course.

I prefer MxM for fandom rps, although there are some small exceptions for specific ships. I"m more open to MxF and FxF, and other pairings with more OC rps. With most Fandom Rps, I am looking for Shipping Rps, aka a Merthur rp, Kylux Rp, etc

So this is I guess more of an example of transmasc erasure than active transandrophobia?

Anyway I was browsing LinkedIn (for some reason) and saw a post about the NHS denying trans people healthcare again. That's fine and all people need to know about that but the OP then said it was primarily targeting trans women, children and young people.

I may be remembering this wrong but didn't they make it basically impossible to get ftm bottom surgery on the NHS a few years back? Nope, trans guys are totally not being targeted at all here. I guess if it's done quietly enough it didn't happen.

I think outside of trans spaces transandrophobia is a quieter problem than transmisogyny. It's either not recognized at all by people who don't know it's happening or erased by misgendering its victims. In other news I want off this dang island it sucks.

Transmasc erasure is part of transandrophobia, so I would still consider it "active."

But yeah. Fucking wild how people just put their blinders on when it comes to trans men&mascs and abinary people.

I was actively IN an rp when the site started to die. We held on for a long time after everything shut down, but eventually let go. We watched the numbers drop from over 30k, down to 1k, and then to....0. That 0+ in the top corner is a harrowing sight.

This is going to be absolutely devastating for so many people. I am autistic and having omegle as a place to go to unwind and just search for rps without feeling the pressure of being KNOWN while doing it is something that I don't think many sites will be able to recreate.

Regardless, Omegle will be missed, and will be mourned.
