@surreal-soo
“you’re a writer, can you explain your process?” yes. first, i panic. then i procrastinate. then, in a fit of productivity at 3 a.m., i create chaos.
some people think writers are so eloquent and good with words, but the reality is that we can sit there with our fingers on the keyboard going, “what’s the word for non-sunlight lighting? Like, fake lighting?” and for ten minutes, all our brain will supply is “unofficial”, and we know that’s not the right word, but it’s the only word we can come up with…until finally it’s like our face got smashed into a brick wall and we remember the word we want is “artificial”.
I couldn't remember the word "doorknob" ten minutes ago.
ok but the onelook thesaurus will save your life, i literally could not live without this website
REBLOG TO SAVE A WRITER'S LIFE
LIFE SAVED
REBLOGGING TO SAVE ANOTHER WRITERS LIFE
THANK U SO FUCKING MUCH
reblog if you believe fanfics are as valid as books that were published and sold by authors who write as their main careers. I'm trying to prove a point
this.
no but most romance novels crack me tf up because I've seen teenage tumblr girls write so much better than whatever bullshit these 'bestsellers' are.
it tickles my brain that authors like colleen hoover are actual professional authors and get paid for publishing literal crack, while some of the most jaw-dropping, toe-curling HANDS DOWN AMAZING stories i've ever read have been written by 13 year old girls after getting home from school.
my love, i cannot tell you how thankful i am for our little infinity. i wouldn't trade it for the world. you gave me a forever within the numbered days.
i love this so fucking much even though it kind of breaks me inside
me after finishing 'the fault in our stars'. this is pure cruelty i swear. I CRIED FOR DAYS.
"how can we describe such feelings? in reality, there really is no way to summarise emotions through feeble aspects such as words. to know a feeling, you have to feel it for yourself."
her voice continued to orate, quite effectively, as most of the people present in the hall seemed to be entranced, eyes never leaving her figure. maybe some were staring at her face, neglecting her words. if so, it would be quite vindicative. her relaxed, tranquil face had a mesmerizing soft smile dancing on it. her eyes, seemed like windows into her soul. with every word she spoke, it was discernible that she truly believed in what she spoke of.
from the back of the hall, a dusky pair of eyes bore into her figure, so absolutely enraptured by the wonder in her eyes. beomgyu was in love.
after the lecture was over, and the students had swarmed out, he stayed. he stood in front of her desk, silently. the lady, in a simple skirt and blouse, hummed to herself while arranging the books and files on her desk. beomgyu watched steadily, as she packed her belongings. there was no one else in the hall except for the two of them.
'don't you have to go for your next lecture now, beomgyu-ah?' she asked him, raising her brows.
'i do. but I'd rather be here. " he smiled at her, walking to stand beside her. she chuckled softly, and pulled him down by his collar to kiss his cheek. 'god, i love it when you do that.' he mumbled. 'i know.' she answered, a cheeky smile on her face.
'go away, now. people might notice,' she whispered to him, ushering him away. 'and i don't want you to miss classes.' beomgyu frowned, and rested his chin on her head. 'so eager to get rid of me, nabi-ah?' he said softly, making her ears go pink. 'alright. i won't bother you any longer, nabi-ah.' he said, and turned around. nabi feared for a moment that he might really be offended, but was assured of the contrary when he beamed at her. 'we might as well walk to your class together. people already know.' nabi suggested, skipping ahead cutely to stand beside him.
beomgyu took her hand in his. 'you know, sometimes i can't believe that you're actually elder to me.' he snickered, as she glared at him. 'by a year!' nabi chided. 'whatever. you're still my teacher. how scandalous..' he commented, smirking at her. nabi promptly hit his shoulder, and looked ahead. they had stepped out of the hall now, and bright sunshine met with them. beomgyu took nabi's pile of books from her, paying no heed to her admonishments.
'i hope you've completed your homework. I'll be collecting the papers tomorrow.' nabi said, more formally than beomgyu would like. 'i can't believe you're making me do homework. where's my boyfriend privilege?' he scoffed. nabi rolled her eyes. 'teacher first, girlfriend second.' she remarked. 'also, you're exceptionally bad at philosophy of literature. really, it seems as if you don't listen to a word of what i say in class.'
'that might be true. i suppose you'll have to give me additional lessons now.' he said, one corner of his mouth pulled up in a lopsided smile. 'absolutely not. you know how that went last time.' she said, glaring at him, even though she herself longed for those things to happen again. she would never admit it, or her lovely boyfriend would tease her about it til the end of time.
'i know. that's why i wanted additional lessons in the first place.' he said, quite unabashedly.
'my! you've been scheming this whole time.' nabi shook her head. 'you can't deny having enjoyed that night. i still replay your screams-' beomgyu was cut short when nabi whimpered and struck a weak blow at him. 'im gonna have bruises from your constant hitting. well, atleast i won't be the only one. you'll have bruises from other reasons, though.' beomgyu said, a confident grin on his face.
'god, beomgyu-ah. what's gotten into you today?' nabi fanned herself with her palm. fortunately, they had reached his class. 'goodbye then. see you later, nabi-ah.'
nabi frowned. 'aren't you forgetting something?'
'i love you.' beomgyu pressed a small kiss to her lips. the passerbys gaped at them, no doubt judging the fact that nabi was dating her student. 'i love you too.' nabi said, eyes full of love. she looked around shyly. 'dont bother about them, nabi.' he reminded her. 'see you later.'
a lil percy jackson oneshot
I huffed in annoyance at the face with an irksome expression in front me, barely an inch from my face now. A pesky smirk was plastered on his face.
"I told you, don't bother me. I'm working." I said in the most monotonous voice I could manage with his face so close to mine that it felt like my guts were being torn out. My lungs betrayed me, as I was breathing so heavily one would imagine I was having a stroke. Though having the Percy Jackson at such close proximity was reason enough to make any sane person go absolutely bonkers.
I pressed a finger to the tip of his nose and pushed it away from mine. I booped his nose, allowing myself to show his the smallest of a smile, before turning away to the papers scattered on my desk.
We were sitting at opposite ends of a little desk, numerous files and folders scattered on it. We were in the library, and sitting within eyespan of Ms. Shin, the librarian. Every now and then she would look at us to make sure we were actually working and not upto no good.
I was supposed to be arranging the folders, and I was doing a mighty fine job at it, until my boyfriend, Percy appeared. He didn't have to stay back, he simply did it because he wanted to provide me with he said and I quote, 'verbal support'. He was constantly whining for attention, and it was kinda hard to ignore him when he was acting all cute. He remained watching me intently as I worked on, but alas, he had a very deficient patience level.
He put his head atop of his folded arms which were resting on the table. He kept staring at me with such intensity I thought I would melt away any moment.
"I love you" He said, voice almost a whisper, dark brown eyes gazing up at mine.
And that's approximately where it all went sideways.
My breath hitched, and I choked on air. I coughed rapidly with such force I felt like I was almost coughing up my spleen. As my hands pressed down on the table, a stray stapler pin wedged itself inside the skin of my palm, and I yelped out in pain. As I clutched my hand, I knocked aside a huge pile of folders which went down with a deafening crash.
That was the sound of my life ending.
The librarian, Ms. Shin, got up from her desk adjusting her spectacles, mouth agape at the mess in front. Percy ooked at me wriggling my hand around as if it were a leech I was trying to pry off my arm, with a dumbfounded expression now replacing his earlier one.
