Now I’m worried that Dr Doom is just gonna be some guy with a narc on for Tony.
... I was looking though this and realised that it was actually worse.

I've been resource gathering for YEARS so now I am going to share my dragons hoard
Floorplanner. Design and furnish a house for you to use for having a consistent background in your comic or anything! Free, you need an account, easy to use, and you can save multiple houses.

Pexels. Free stock images. And the search engine is actually pretty good at pulling up what you want.
Figurosity. Great pose references, diverse body types, lots of "how to draw" videos directly on the site, the models are 3d and you can rotate the angle, but you can't make custom poses or edit body proportions. Free, account option, paid plans available.
Line of Action. More drawing references, this one also has a focus on expressions, hands/feet, animals, landscapes. Free.
Animal Photo. You pose a 3d skull model and select an animal species, and they give you a bunch of photo references for that animal at that angle. Super handy. Free.
Height Weight Chart. You ever see an OC listed as having a certain weight but then they look Wildly different than the number suggests? Well here's a site to avoid that! It shows real people at different weights and heights to give you a better idea of what these abstract numbers all look like. Free to use.

They really are terrified of introspection aren't they?
all authoritarianism is scared of introspection and critical thought by its underlings; in addition to that, fascism specifically is anti-deliberative anything. the fascist ethos is all about the vigorous quick action and perceives slow, deliberate, thoughtful and complex things as weak. its art needs to be simple, quick to grasp, unambiguous, and must spur to immediate action. if you have to think about it, discuss and debate, if it's in any way ambiguous and causes one to slow down and thing about things, it's "degenerate" art. and nearly every category in this chart is underpinned by this fascist preference of action over contemplation.

Me: “Which Batman are we on now?” Friend: “By the time I told you, the number wouldn’t be right anymore.”
wow this is a great point
this leaves out the most crucial tip you'll ever need:
-site:pinterest.*
excludes the entirety of pinterest's evil domainverse from image search
Reblogging for the Pinterest addition
I think you mean “reblog for the pinterest subtraction”
I use the Unpinterested! extension, which automatically does that.
Problem is, it glitches out if I manually hit the switch or change settings, and then I have to reinstall the whole thing.
I'd love to search for gifs and get gifs.
I actually get a lot of Tenor and meme site results when I look for gifs.
there needs to be an easier way to convey the idea of "it's absolutely fine that you don't like this thing I like, and I don't even necessarily disagree with your reasons for disliking it, but I am sick to death of hearing your negative opinions about it."
One of the reasons I dislike MovieBob is his attitude towards darker comic book stories.
He treats darker stories, like from the 1980s, as inherently bad because they are dark.
He regards Iron Man’s alcoholism as irrelevant and pointless, pointing to exorcising it from Iron Man 2 as a smart decision.
He lambasts The Dark Knight Returns as dated. Watchmen as dated.
He bangs on about comics being for children and therefore hating on anything adult present in them.
This…is childish in an equal yet opposite way to Snyder’s approach in Dawn of Justice and Man of Steel.
Superhero comic books can have a variety of tones. Even individual characters can.
A Spider-Man, Iron Man or Batman story is not bad merely because it is dark or because they were intended for a younger audience.
It’s particularly stupid given the average age of most comic book readers along with the fact that even back in the 1960s the Marvel pantheon’s main readership was older teens and college students.
I’ve talked before about how decrying something as dated is an inherently invalid form of criticism.*
This is very much the problem with Bob’s ‘hot takes’ on DKR and Watchmen. He ignores their quality by the standards of the time they were written. Quite aside from ignoring how generally well written they are even now. It’s not like the average mini-series is that good today FFS.
Nuance is the key.
Stories can be light and fun AND dark and serious.
It’s HOW they are done that is the important part.
The Dark Knight is dark and serious and it’s good. Dawn of Justice is dark and serious but it is bad.
Avengers Assemble is light and fun and it’s good. Superman IV: the Quest for Peace is light and fun but it’s bad.
Don’t treat all dark, serious or adult content with superheroes as an inherent flaw jackass(es).
*Want proof of this?
The most beloved, acclaimed and rewatched British sitcom ever is a 4 camera laugh track affair very obviously made and set during the 1980s-1990s, complete with corded phones, VCRs and dated slang.
It’s dated horribly. People still love and adore it.
Give a man a gun and he’ll rob a bank……

the energy these have is like nothing I have ever seen
I know they probably mean ‘pull over first’, but they’re sure as hell not saying that.
nsw has ‘stop. revive. survive.’ but vic has ‘powernap now’. My dad, of course, decided to pretend to sleep every time we passed a sign in vic…

new ‘live laugh love’ motto just dropped
Why does everyone think that when they get superpowers they have to either be a villain or a hero or use their powers for some cause. FUCK THAT. I’m using my telekinesis to get chores done. I’m using my water breathing abilities to dress as a creepy mermaid and scare the fuck out of surfers. Man, I don’t have time to develop a moral code or goal. My powers will be used to spice up my life and the lives of everyone around me in minor ways whether y’all like it or not.
Hey, OP, I know you’re busy spicing up your life, but your aunt called: apparently your uncle was supposed to come home after dropping you off near the wrestling arena, but he hasn’t even called, do you know where he is?
[AMV] Jon Arbuckle - You’re Gonna Go Far Kid
this is one of my favorite videos on the internet, and it kills me that the source has been silenced by youtube’s copyright system, so I’m putting it here!
I have seen a version of this on tumblr before, but the audio in that one is just a little bit off because that person edited it back in themselves
but today, I am proud to present the original video, sent to me by Crispy Crungy, who gave me permission to upload it here and share it with you all!
enjoy!
I love this description. It reads like a dedication speech for an art museum. Like we’re all witnesses to this video being interred in the Met. Preserving these things is important, and they really captured that.
