Eddie was waiting at the door for Buck to be back from the doctors
Like,,,, need I say more????
He was waiting at the doors, anxious, waiting to hear that Buck was okay and didn't have any poisoning from the smoke inhalation, that he didn't have any injuries or resurfacing ones, no blood clots or healing necessary, he had to wait there and face him as if he was picking Chris up from school, waiting there for the talk, bc they're partners usually, and Buck went off on his own and Eddie needed to make sure he was okay, and they don't need emotional talks for that. They don't need lengthy confessions
Buck states "I needed that"
Eddie says "I know"
And he knows Buck will be okay
And even if he's not, he's showing he'll always be there waiting, even for the aftermath, always there to make sure he's okay after everything is over, bc family
Look, I don't even know if the Buckley parents are supposed to be in 4x05 at all. BUT
What if they’re still there in the beginning of the ep, all the factory fire stuff happens, and Buck, finally released, exhausted (once again traumatized) goes back to Maddie’s house to see her and the parents...
and then the parents aren’t there. Maddie tells him she was so worried as they watched what was happening on the news. But their parents aren’t there anymore. because--as maddie reluctantly tells him--they “had a flight to catch.”
Buck is (inwardly) devastated (again). (they wouldn’t even stick around to make sure he was okay????)
And then there’s a knock on the door
Bobby and Athena are there
“We wanted to check up on you, kid.”
*i die.*
look at Eddie being so supportive and validating Buck's feelings
the whole team validating Buck's feelings
LOOK AT THEM BEING A FAMILY
Eddie Diaz supporting his self-deprecating boyfriend, despite he may not know what to say.
I learned one thing from that tsunami: it's that I don't quit. I fight.
Trauma response is literally Buck casually telling everyone about his dead brother he was born for and laughing it off as he says he's just defective parts
