Yesterday I got officially diagnosed with ADHD!

I got a psychological evaluation on January 2nd, and finally had my feedback meeting yesterday.

Obviously, like most neurological disorders, it’s a spectrum, and I have a more mild version of the combined (inattentive + hyperactive) type.

It was just so nice to finally get the validation that I really do have it. Now we start the very long process of trying to get accommodations and maybe medication. We’ll see.

Part of the evaluation was also an IQ test, and it turns out I have an IQ of 122, so that’s kinda cool.

if i had a nickel for every time i hyperfixated on a piece of media where the/a main character:

is not a singleton

has a missing parent who is an ADHD-coded amputee pilot who they thought was dead but was actually on a different celestial body and who is my favorite character

was raised by their uncle who doesn’t want them to follow their parent’s path

is frequently compared to the aforementioned parent

meets an emotionally broken old guy who they didn’t know was close to their missing parent and is emotionally broken because of it

then i would have two nickels. which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it happened twice.
