An unbelievable fit from this morning right before I got into the shower. Did not expect to get as worked up as I did, but the relentlessness of it and how helpless I was feeling really, really got me going 🥵🔥🤧

I had mentioned this in my H/eated R/ivalry ficlet I wrote the other day, but I think the first time Ilya went to the cottage with Shane it was kind of a disaster. At least the first few days were. That’s all because of Ilya’s newfound allergies to basically everything in the Canadian wilderness.
I’m imagining that the first time they went there during the off-season, Ilya noticed something was off almost immediately but decided to ignore it. Horrible mistake. Within half an hour of being there — and outside — he was already sniffling every other second and scrubbing his nose against his hand. The poor appendage was taking so much abuse at the hands of its idiot owner.
Not even ten minutes after he started sniffling, he was sneezing. They were coming fast — a lot faster than they usually do when he sneezes, and they weren’t stopping.
Shane was obviously concerned about his (newly named) boyfriend and didn’t put two and two together until Ilya’s eyes started streaming as well. He’d seen this before with countless others. The pollen in these parts were no joke, and Ilya was its latest victim.
But of course Ilya didn’t have any allergy medication because he didn’t know he was allergic. Cue Shane herding Ilya inside to sit on the couch and telling him not to die while he ran out to the pharmacy to buy allergy meds.
Ilya was so unbelievably sniffly and drippy and sneezy when he returned, but at least Shane was finally able to offer him something. It took nearly an hour for the meds to kick in, but it finally started to abate the symptoms plaguing Ilya.
From that day on, he had to drug himself rather heavily to spend time with Shane out there…. Until he found out what his reaction did to Shane. Then he didn’t go as heavy handed.
grass is really grassing and boyyyyy my nose has taken note.
I don’t know how else to describe this eternal itch, but it feels like my nose swollen and full of powdery pollen. I can feel it, coursing through my sinuses from the tip right to the top of my nose where my eyes meet the bridge.
I’m on an endless cycle… a constant barrage of fluttery tickles that build and build to an intense itchiness you just can’t ignore. It causes my nostrils to twitch dance and jig on my face as I hitch and itch until finally maybe I’ll sneeze… or just as likely, I’ll false start.
One things is for sure, there is nothing like that all consuming allergy itch, where you face is buzzing with tickling irritation to bring on some wickedly harsh sneezes.
I love the English countryside, but it does not like me.

Whumptober Day 13 - Adrenaline
(word count: 262. @whumptober2019 )
They had been relaxing on the couch for most of the evening. Clint had taken out his hearing aids after the pizza was delivered - a new place had opened up a couple blocks away, so they were trying it for the first time.
It had been fine for the first several minutes. Clint had inhaled two pieces, and Lucky had snapped up his, too. Kate had been eating with slightly more dignity in that she had only managed one piece in four minutes.
Still, it was fine, right up until it wasn't.
Kate kicked him roughly, and Clint looked up, annoyed, until he saw the sweat beading on her brow as she signed frantically.
Index finger to her nose. Both index fingers touching in front of her chin, then pulled apart.
Allergy.
"Fuck!" Clint exclaimed, jumping up from the couch. He couldn't hear it, but he knew she must be wheezing as she struggled to breathe.
SHIELD's standard field kit came with a lot of things. One of them was an Epi-Pen. Clint was never more thankful for it.
As the medicine worked through her system, Kate visibly gasped, taking in some much-needed air. Clint hovered worriedly next to her as her hands started to shake.
Epinephrine is, essentially, distilled adrenaline, and Clint could sympathize with her unsteady hands and blown pupils. He felt ready for action, felt the itch to move, and fumbled with his hearing aids before finally getting them in. "You okay, Katie-Kate?"
She groaned. "Fuck pine nuts, and double fuck whoever put them in a perfectly innocent pizza."
