🧠 I Almost Died a Few Weeks Ago; Here’s What I’ve Done About It 🧠 (Quick recap, an ulcer I didn’t know I had started bleeding, resulting in me losing half my blood supply into my gut, which led me to passing out, which led to an ER trip, which led to hospitalization for a week... yada yada yada. See my post on 07/27/20 for more details.) I waited until I knew the changes to my lifestyle had become habits before posting anything about it because I wanted to make sure these changes stuck and weren’t just flash-in-the-pan reactionary changes. So, here we are, two weeks into August and these are the major changes I’ve made to my lifestyle: 🧠 Sleep schedule shift: Asleep by 10:00pm, awake by 6:00am 🧠 Minimum of 30 minutes of any type of exercise: typically walking or yoga 🧠 Drinking 8 (24oz., refillable) bottles of water daily 🧠 Intermittent fasting (IF), specifically, alternate day fasting (ADF) 🧠 Food tracking via MyFitnessPal 🧠 Continually working on the hurdles that come with living with my clinically diagnosed ADHD 🧠 Solidifying relationships with the people in my life that matter the most. That’s a lot, I know, but have all been doable. I’ll expand upon each one of these as I sporadically post on social media, but today, I can vouch that getting better sleep has made so much of a difference in my life. Example (and what is pictured if you swipe): This morning I woke up at 5:00am without an alarm, did my morning routine (which includes doing burpees until exhaustion), walked the dogs 1.5 miles, and re-mulched an entire bed in our garden all before starting my shift working for Apple at 8:00am and all while on the 36th hour of my current fast. I have already, metaphorically, punched Friday in the face. Anyway. Anything is possible. Ask me anything. (Comment below or DM.)
