Do You Know This (canon) Autistic Character?
T'Lyn from Star Trek: Lower Decks (animation)
Yes, I know her and see them as autistic
Yes, I know her, but I don't see them as autistic
I've heard of her
I don't know her, but they seem autistic
I don't know her, but they don't seem autistic
I don't know her
Propaganda:
"Low support needs" is only ever used to mean "autisitc people I consider invalid". It's the new high functioning. It's a term that should not exist, it can only be used to gatekeep. Everyone's support needs are fluid and unique, and if you split the community based on support needs you're inherently invalidating people. It's not an Ok term that's being used incorrectly, it's inherently gatekeeping.
Same applied to the term "straight passing". You are bigoted if you support these words.
I wrote this for a college workshop assignment 4 creative writing but damn it I'm proud of it so here we go
What does it say abt me that two of my current big comfort characters are kamishiro rui from pjsk and dazai osamu from bungou stray dogs
Doodle, lowkey a vent but it's of an OC so it's not that personal,,
Wow, so @ my fellow autistic + sensitive skin homies, I mustache u a question:
So I just actually visited the Snag Tights website of my own accord for the first time (despite having been bombarded by ads for them in social media apps over the years), via a Google search for non-itchy tights.
Am looking at the Merino wool tights since the winter cold is particularly biting - to ferocious levels (it was 2° when I woke up, and has been lower on many other days) - this time of year in NZ.
I am sick of having to wear joggers everywhere lately and feeling like a slob/unpresentable just cos everything else feels like itchy burning hell against my skin these days. My fave go-to stockings have become unbearable to wear (idk if my skin somehow managed to get even MORE sensitive with age/time, or I just was so used to always being in pain??- as I used to wear stockings a LOT (like every day back in my fulltime working days).
So yeah, my question if anyone us listening is have you tried Snag Tights? Or even merino tights of another decent brand? And are they itchy or are they?
Cos they sound + look like a dream come true and it would be amazing to open up the world of wearing all my shorts and skirts again and not having to go thru the arduous and often bloody task of shaving my legs to do so. Plus + icy winter days. Also skin flare ups can be embarrassing and want to hide skin then
Also an important factor is that Snag Tights are ACTUALLY available and not too horrendous of a cost to ship to New Zealand (at $12.50 NZD, untracked tho - a steep rise up to like $30 to upgrade to tracked so kinda not worth upgrading)
I WOULD just get NZ merino tights from Icebreaker (reputable brand) but they are kinda just too dear for me atm, especially with it being a gamble buying any tights/tights/pants on whether they trigger my skin or not
